Description

At last we begin to hear word and rumor, find evidence of Gol'dir's whereabouts. The humans have been moving him around, but we are narrowing down our search and focusing on the large Syndicate camp just north of here.

Go there, <name>, and bring back whatever information you can get your hands on.

It appears you can do this quest two different ways. The first is to go kill any and all Syndicate mobs you find to the north. The missive will randomly drop off one of them.

The other way is to go talk to Henchman Valik at 57, 69. He will offer you the missive in exchange for some Southshore Stout. You likely don't have any on you, but on the cliff south of Valik you should see a Syndicate mob named Drunken Footpad. Kill him and he will drop the stout. Take it back to Valik and he'll give you the missive. Easy to do if you don't trust the drop rate (and I couldn't blame you).

Simple Quest, Just go to the Inkeeper in Tarren Mill and buy (1 Southshore Stout) from him, then run north to 57.69 where you will find Valik, Talk to him and give him the stout in exchange for the Missive, all you need to watch for is a gap in the sydicate patrols and your home free, no need to kill a single toon. Simplicity Itself :) If by chance you should aggro Valik by mistake it's not a problem, just kill the surrounding mobs as they drop the Missive too.

Alright i didnt understand all the stuff that was posted here, so im going to summarize it!
  • Go west from Tarren Mills towards Alterac. Once in Alterac turn into "Sofera's Naze."
  • In their you will see Syndicates, and Vladik.
  • You have two choces now, To get the missive as a drop or get it from Vladik.
  • If you kill the Syndicates the missive will drop (i got it on my 3rd kill)
  • However, If you want to do Vladiks mission, he begs for you not to kill him and he will give you the missive in exchange for Southshore Stout.
Once you recieve the missive your good to go!

There are three ways of doing this quest, basically - the lazy way, the grindy way, and the efficient way.

The lazy way is to simply buy a Southshore Stout before leaving Tarren Mill, giving it to Henchman Valik and completing the quest without having to fight.

The grindy way is to kill syndicates until it drops. You might get lucky and get it early, or have to kill for ages.

The efficient way is to kill syndicates until either the missive or the stout (yes, it does drop off the syndicates) drops and complete the quest that way.

Krusk's low level quest, The Rescue, is a prereq for this quest.

Just spent a while trying to figure out why I couldn't get the quest. Krusk just didn't have it. After I completed The Rescue, this one showed up.

To be eligible for this chain, you need to complete "The Rescue" from him, a level 22 quest that involves Durnholde Keep.

I found my Syndicate Missive off of a Syndicate Footpad just west of Tarren Mill at loc 48, 82.&nbsp Took me 3 kills to get it.&nbsp Good Luck All.

I got lucky and got the Syndicate Missive off a random guy there before I talked to Valik. Easier to just do his quest though, since the thing he wants is a 100% drop from the nearby drunken footpad.

For those still looking for the Footpads (whom drop the Missive) or Valik, both are in "Sofera's Naze," in Northern Hillsbrad. Be careful, as the Footpads have an extreme aggro radius.

Just completed this quest a few mins ago. When I got up to the area, Valik was hostile, but didn't attack me. I decided to kill him anyways. About 5 mins later, he respawned with a yellow ! over his head and gave me the quest to bring him a stout. I already had one on me as a drop from another Syndicate mob, so I turned it in and he gave me the missive. He immediately turned hostile, but again, didn't attack.

I just completed this quest and have a hostile rep with this faction. It appears as of the 2.3.3 patch, Henchman Valik appears green with a yellow exclamation point over his head. After you accecpt and complete the quest he turns red and is killable. Cords 57, 69 confirmed.

Valik appeared hostile to me, already had a stout with me. Killed him and while waiting for him to respawn the missive dropped.

Hung out to see if he respawned with the quest available, and he did. I'm thinking that it's intentional due to the text of the quest - he talks about you coming back to finish the job you started and his impending death so it seems as if it's working as intended.

The camp consists of 2 tents and is surrounded by level 32ish Syndicate. I lucked out and the quest item "Syndicate Missive" dropped off the first Syndicate Footpad I killed. The camp loc is near 54,65.

There is also a quest NPC in the camp that will reward you with the quest item if you bring him a "Mug of Southshore Stout".

Side note to the quest NPC in camp. The mug of southshore ale he wants is always dropped by the drunken footpad near him lvl 32ish. Just be careful of the wandering patrols. Took me about 5 min to do this quest at lvl 30. The camp is located directly north of Tarren Mill. Just take the road north and when you reach Alterac Mts turn right and you will see the tents after a short walk. The quest NPC is by the edge overlooking Tarren Mill.

You guys are confusing "Infiltration" quest and "Goldir" quest, it sounds like to me. I found the one-tent camp West of TM (for "Infiltration" quest), not North. Although, you have to go North first and make a sharp left when you get up the hill to get up on the mountian top literally, again, West of TM.

My coords are, IF YOU'RE STILL IN TM, 49,20. They change, of course, when you enter Alterac Mountains. Here I got "Missive" drop after two or three kills and went back to Krusk in TM for "Goldir" quest.

This is pretty simple - literally follow the path north of TM and right into Sofera's Naze. There are loads of 32-35 syndicate around the tents and the drop was fairly soon, I think I only killed about 2.

the name of the npc and the quest is VALIK...
You can buy the stout, but the drunken ones will drop tons of this item...then you can get the missive from valik.

Coords are correct. There are two camps. You want the one to the north of TM not to the east. The camp you want does have two tents. Valik it there and easy to spot. If there is only one tent you are in the wrong camp.
