Bloodbelly Fish (2)

Description

The smell of cooked fish has long been missing here at Ghost Walker Post. The trolls at Shadowprey Village are the best at catching fish... but alas, with all the centaur activities I have little time to make a journey to the trolls. Hrm...

Do me a favor and journey to Shadowprey Village. Talk to the local fisherman Jinar'Zillen and bring me back my favorite, Bloodbelly fish. The road south of here will take you west to the troll village.

Under normal circumstances, this quest is relatively easy. Just go to Shadowprey Village, jump in the ocean and check the shellfish traps. Once you have 10 shellfish, you can turn them in to Jinar'Zillen on the dock (in lots of five) to get your two fish.

However, recently several websites/forums have mentioned that the shellfish traps are good to farm, as they have a chance of dropping the Big Iron Fishing Pole. On some servers, that pole sells for upwards of 10g on the AH. Also, turning in shellfish yields about 55s for every 5 you turn in. As such, the shellfish traps are usually camped hardcore, making it difficult to finish the quest, depending on your server.

You need to open a minimum of five traps to complete the quest (and that's with great luck, as the traps sometimes yield vendor trash or even nothing). Good luck.

you can get coords from ctmod (ctmod.net) or just use your imagination and know that the 0s are at the left and top... 100s are on right and bottom...and 50,50 is dead center of your map.

Didn't realize you only got one fish per five shellfish. This was an easy quest with my druid and his sea lion form. Air bubbles, what are air bubbles?... :P

Your best bet, if you're not a druid?

Elixir of Waterbreathing. Sells for maybe 50s on the auction house. I had one, got all my fish, was done in 15 min without ever breaking the surface.

it really isn't worth the time to do this quest.. unless of course for the little bit of faction it give you...

some of the traps don't have anything in them but a mob will pop out in stead... it's not really worth it >.<

This is not a bad quest as you all make out. You get 2100exp and it took like only 15 minutes to open the cages. I do have underwater breathing though. The trick is the cages give you shellfish. Sometimes 2 or even 3 at a time. When you collect 10 of them just go to Jinar`Zillen on the wharf in Shadowprey and he will give you two bloodbelly fish for the 10 shellfish. Easy. rewards for the quest are not great you have a choice of either mirthril, thick leather or mageweave.

Also the cages are just off the end of the wharf and there are plenty of them. You will have to fight a few things to get to them sometimes and some even come out when you open a cage but it is an easy quick quest.

Also turn the quest in at Ghostwalker Post.

I'm not quite sure what you guys are complaining about, while the rewards aren't that great this quest isn't that hard

1. Get Quest from Nataka Longhorn
2. Go into water off of the pier in Shadowprey Village
3. Open the shellfish traps at the bottom of the water. Some are empty and you will get a mob after you, but kill it.
4. When you have 10 shellfish talk to Jinar'Zillen and exchange them for the Bloodbelly fish
5. Cash in quest with quest giver

Not that hard guys, including all the walking maybe took me 30-40 mins with my 33 mage. Jinar DOES NOT have have a Question mark or Exclamation point over his head indicating where or who he is.

Gained 2100xp and 75 TB rep

It's extremely annoying when some #$%goty druid turns into a seal and beats you to the cage right after you kill all of the pincers around it. Good god.

Actually pretty worth it, this quest. Each turn in of 5 shellfish gets you 55 silver as well, so you can't say you exactly lost.

There are a few bubbly fissures down there, but the easiest thing would be to find a shaman or warlock to enable you to breathe underwater, so you won't have to keep swimming back to the fissure. There are a fair share of Drysnaps in the water, but aren't really too tough (they do possess Frost Armor, Frost Shock and Sunder Armor).

The traps look like cages. When you open them, you either get 1-3 shellfish, a random loot, like boots or fishing poles, or nothing and spawn a Drysnap on top of you. I just ran away, since they give up soon enough.

As a Druid, it was easy with Aquatic Form. Had to shift constantly to Cat form to fight and caster form to heal and open traps, but nontheless easy. Would have finished it faster if not for the 2 other druids in the water doing the quest as well.

This is where a very expensive fishing rod can be found. There can be some good loot in those traps. But for me, at 33, it's pretty distressing especially since they put the darned graveyard so far away!

Ya the drop rate is low, and about farming the Big Iron Fishing Pole, I got one after about 10 cages. Still had 2 more shellfish to go before I could complete my quest. So if you're lucky you might bank on a pole :)
