The Perenolde Tiara

Bring the Perenolde Tiara to Remington Ridgewell in Stormwind.
Perenolde Tiara

Description

The Perenolde Tiara is an old heirloom of the Perenolde "nobles" - the ruling family of Alterac before that kingdom fell to ruin. It is said to have been crafted by master jewelers in Ironforge, and fitted with the finest of emeralds.

When Alterac was destroyed the Tiara was lost, but there are rumors that an Ogre Mage, Grel'borg the Miser, found the tiara and now wanders the Ruins of Alterac searching for more treasures.

We would have you acquire the tiara for us.

Two-headed red ogre mage, looks exactly like all the other mages in the area. Patrols from barracks basement to town hall.

Soloable as a lvl 37 fire mage...after pulling him I nova'd, he then cast rain of fire over and over, which is easily dodgeable. Can always counterspell + frost nova + bandage if necessary.

The mage has been outside, in front of the building which you face as you enter the gate.

Was an easy fight for me, cleared the mob first inside the house, then pulled the mage inside the cleared room so I can fear it around without pulling unwanted aggro.

Demo, level 39 SM lock.

ok everyone seems to be interested in xp and rep i got 4700xp and 550rep as a lvl 44 pally...

but nobody mentioned the quest itself so far... the map is good... he sits in the big stone turreted building where the map shows, it's easy to slip between cracks in the wall surrounding the ruins about anywhere you want to might have to hop over... once you're inside if you engage an ogre that's kicking ur butt you can run into the short hallways on top of the ruined halls they can't follow and there are ramps to get up there.

the Miser himself is 39 elite but might be important to note he casts firestorms from the sky he did twice in my case.. I evaded them it's easy to move out of the fire zone until it stops then engage him again, and easy to tell when he's casting he looks like he's enraged.

he leaves the building to walk down the street to the front gate and back, dunno how often.. his round trip takes NO MORE THAN five minutes... i recommend getting him either at the gate once you've cleared it of other elites, or at the door to the big stone building he bases out of... there was a 40 elite in the doorway you should clear first, so you have a clear shot at the Miser on his way in/out... there's another 40 elite inside the doorway but he didn't aggro when the other forward-most ogre did, just don't get too close to the door, i approached along the front wall from the north. The Miser didn't seem to want to chase me, so be aware of that, too.

good luck!

He isn't any harder than any of the other giants, other than his area of effect, and you can just back out of that. I was really surprised, I expected him to be much harder. The faction points were great, and the general drops in the area, getting him, were worth the effort.

Soloed this as a 36 affliction warlock. I'd just killed Muckrake (no longer elite) in the building where you get the book for "Preserving Knowledge", so the building was empty. When I ran out Grel'borg was just walking by on his patrol. I aggroed him, ran back inside, dotted him and then chainfeared, keeping him dotted and keeping my pet off him.

This was easily soloed as a level 38 enhancement shaman. I didn't even have to start with full mana. I found the guy wandering outside the big castle-like building in the ruins of alterac. He didn't really cast anything so I just earthshocked away when I had earthshock up. He did channel a rain of fire but it was no problem.

Also, remember to purge his enrage :>

Post 2.3:
Easily done by a 44 Shadow Priest solo so it could be done @ 40 assuming your gear is up to par.

Melee attacks are pretty weak so if you can interrupt his casts most classes shouldn't have a problem.

Solo'd as lvl 37 BM hunter. Had no idea what happend, as I was fighting a warmonger when the Elite joined the fray. Killed the warmonger, with the Elite in a trap, sent pet on Elite, another warmonger joined, killed it, and then finished off the Elite. No mana left, but hey when I got "Quest Complete" while looting I found out what I had just done...

Hehe, I don't complain :)

The Perenolde Tiara is a very old heirloom of the Perenolde family, who were the rulling family of Alterac during the second war. It is thought to be crafted in Ironforge, by the master jewelers.

When Alterac was destroyed, the Tiara was lost. Grel'borg the Miser found the Tiara, and it is in his possession.

I solo'd as a lvl 36 BM hunter. I used my pet turtle to fight him after I shot him a few times so I could loot Grel'borg the Miser, and kept healing my turtle. I was attacked by 2 ogres (not at the same time) in the process but I took them out with ease. I don't recommend fighting him and healing your turtle at this lvl because you'll agro him. My turtle was lvl 35 at the time, and had most of his skills.

Soloed as 37 enhancement shammy. Very simple. Threw down a stoneskin, searing, and healing totem, drew him with a lightning bolt, kept him purged...and he crumbled.. The totems were overkill. 2.3 nerfed this guy good. Good luck.

Solo killed him with 41 prot/ret pally (17/15) Really easy, had him and two other mobs on me in the keep... Doesn't hurt being a prot pally but I think with a little strategy you could do it with any class.
When he does the fire rain thing just back out of it and jump back in when it's over... super easy
(Seal of light doesn't hurt pallies... I finished fight with full health =)
