Description

By order of High Executor Darthalia, the human known as Baron Vardus is wanted for crimes against the Forsaken. Vardus is known to be a high-ranking member of the organization known as the Syndicate.

He was last spotted in the Uplands in the Alterac Mountains, north of Tarren Mill.

He is wanted dead. Bring evidence of his demise to High Executor Darthalia to claim the reward.

I found him just East of Lordamere Lake, East of the farm house in a small encampment with 2 tents and a bunch of Syndicate.&nbsp There are two other camps there too.&nbsp So if you can't find him in the tavern basement check the 3 camps NW of the town.

He usually spawns in those camps, but sometimes he shows up next to Strahnbrad. Had that happen last night.

If you are doing this solo, be VERY careful when looking through the camps. You can look from a distance, but be aware of the many patrolling mobs. Syndicate Sentries and Mountain Lions here have both long patrol routes and large aggro ranges. It's easy to wind up fighting anywhere from two to six mobs if you aren't careful.

I found him easily at 59, 32, in between two tents surrounded by 38's.&nbsp Killed him as 38 rogue..stealthed in, attacked him only, healed, grabbed his head, and vanished...the others never had a chance!

if you do not locate him in the tent camps he will be in the INN in STRAHNBRAD in the lower level where the giant kegs of beer are...

I found him just north of Strahnbrad between 3 tents.

He is lvl 40 not Elite and a single pull. Killed him with my lvl-38-priest without even suffering a single damage point.

Actually, there're four camps, the westernmost one I only noticed after days of agonizing searching throughout Strahnbrad and the three camps east of it.&nbsp Found the baron there, killed him easy -_-

baron vardus is in the basement of the two story house (inn) where gol'dir is kept prisoner in strahnbrad inn. Approximately 59, 43 for those with cosmos.

As a lvl 39 druid i sneaked up and then i decided to suicide on him. I starfired him and ... only he started casting, rest stayed put :P

So i moonfired wrath him and after he was dead i sneaked in, collected the head and THEN they all aggrod and I travelformed away :P

took me about 30 seconds ^^

First time for everything eh. usually I agro the whole neighbourhood.

He is usually in one of the camps as you go round the back of the main group of houses(north of strahnbrad) down the stretch of grass between the hills and the ogre area! lvl 40, did it as a lvl 38 warlock quite easily.

Spawn time is quick..i killed him at the first tent area and by the time i had killed a few more mobs and walked round the corner he had respawned at the third camp!

I hate those syndicates, some of them have that nasty shield which blocks a lot of damage. Vardus is also usually pretty well protected, and it's hard to get to him without fighting off several at the time.

Please note, that this quest is not started at High Executor Darthalla, but by reading the sign behind her! It's stated that this quest is level 40 but it can be taken up from level 35 on. Vardus is a non-elite level 40 with adds. Also note that he can be at at least 3 different spawn locations. See below. WANTED: Syndicate Personnel is a necessary pre-quest, it's started at the same sign.

duoed this no prob as a 36 pally (w/ 37 warrior) he just charged in, feared and i healbotted him, we finished him looted him and ran away from about the 50 mobs we aggroed, i simply bubbled him and i bubbled myself and we both got away no problem

i saw him way north, 42,19ish? 3-4 camp down, level 40 caster mob

w/o cosmos (though you really should have it) just keep walking north from stahnbrad and keep walking north through all the camps till u see him, he sticks out from the crowd pretty well, hard to miss,

to avoid adds, hug the mountain side, that will save u time if the lions begin to aggravate you (or the patrolling sentries)

robe disenchanted into 5 vision dust, (req 100 enchanting to d/e) 3500xp, vendors for like, 45 silver, then again, looks cool and great for a pyromaniac, just slap a +150 mana on that thing and ur g2g.. lmao

Not sure why various sources say he is in the Inn. He's in one of the tent camps in the Uplands behind the town. I found him at 56, 27 on Cosmos.

Didn't have a problem pulling one guy at a time as i fought my way toward him, but watch out for patrols that walk from camp to camp if you can't handle more than one at a time.

The robe is pretty cool looking, but useless for a Shadow speced priest.

Baron Vardus can be in the basement of the inn in Strahnbrad or in the camp to the north of Strahnbrad. He may spawn in other places, but I have seen him in both of these places.

He is an easy kill.

He got many spawn points. I first looked at the first one, in the kind of inn and he wasn't there. Then I looked further north and looked in many camps and found him in no time. Easy to kill but surrounded by other mobs.

Just sol'ed as level 38 warlock. He was in the second part of the Uplands. He had a couple enimies surronding him. But I just cursed him with curse of agony and curse corruption then I shadow bolted him. He kept aggro on my void till he was about to die then came after me but I just sent one more bolt and he was dead. My void was gettting attacked and I went and looted him then my void died and I died then I took rez sickness and turn in the quest. Sorry i didn't pay attention to the exp sweet robe though and it looks cool too.

Just to let you know, there is also an alliance version to this quest.

I found an item called the assassin's contract, which leads to this quest when you turn in the quest u get from the quest.

The Alliance version of this is called Baron's Demise
