The quest is actually obtainable at level 19, offering the best ammo pouch or quiver available to level 19 twinks.

To get this with the least experience gain possible, do as follows: group with a highlevel, go to the spot where the quest mobs are, die. Run back to your corpse, but don't rez. Instead, follow the high level around while he kills the quest targets. You'll still get kill credit, but no experience. When you're done with one step, rez, drop the group (so you don't accidentally gain XP when your bodyguard kills stuff to protect you) and follow the high level to Darkshire for handin. Just make sure you can manage 6.000 XP without leveling to 20 :)

If you are having trouble finding enough of them, go down into the crypt in Raven Hill. You may have to kill a few other things down there too, but there are more of the Plague Spreaders walking around the large rooms down there. I think all of the creatures down there are about the same level. May be a few 29s, but not right where you go down.

For a warlock or a hunter or a party of two, level 26 are good enough to take out plague spreaders level 26 to 28. But, the spawns are pretty few.. 20 could take a while.

This was a fairly easy quest for my level 29 shadow priest. I just went to the crypt and killed the Plague Spreaders around it (I never actually went into the crypt) There are also quite a few around the house to the east.

The spawn rate on these guys is pretty quick, maybe a minute or two. Be cautious if you venture down into the tomb, because if you run out after completion be prepared for a fight to the top.

If you happen to have the Totem of Infliction quest (http://classicdb.ch/?quest=101) you can make killing these things a bit easier. Kill all of the ones surrounding the tomb, and maybe a few right inside the entrance. Run back out and kill the surrounding mobs for the Ghoul Fang item you need for that other quest. As the Plague Spreaders pop back up, kill them!

Keeps the XP flowing and you out of danger. ;D

There are only 5 or 6 Plague Spreaders at the crypt (the coordinates given earlier) and the graveyard around it is full of Rotted Ones and Flesh Eaters, which are useless for the quest. I pulled the Plague Spreaders left to kill 'em off, but since there was always one or two others either grinding or doing teh quest, I had to wait more than 5 respawns to get all my 20 kills.

Also the Rotted Ones spawn 2 lvl 25 Flesh-Eating Snakes when they die. These die on one hit, but if you have something else attacking you at the same time, killing them off is precious seconds. Very annoying ...

I just finished this quest, chose the quiver, went inside the inn and began to sell them my extra items when i realized I did not receive my quiver! I had only sold 5 items to the vendor and NONE OF THEM were the quiver, so where is it? I did not receive it at all. I sent GM a notice, but has this happened to anyone else?

(Note: It didn't automatically become my quiver either, I checked that as well, just in case.)

Also be careful for the level 30 Elite wandering about in the Raven Hill Cemetery. Don't even bother killing him (except for xp) because he drops nothing (of value).

Looks like there is a bug in this quest. I turned in the quest after selecting the bandolier of the Night Watch as my reward. Text box showed the quest was completed and that I received the item but it was nowhere to be found in my inventory. If you petition a GM they can send you a replacement bandolier/quiver in the mail. Trick is to empty your ammo pouch/quiver and put it in the bank before you turn in this quest. You also have to do this before you can accept the replacement one the GM mails you.

I want to know why Horde doesn't have an equivalent quest? It's ridiculous how many expamples of this there are out there. It may not seem like a big deal but playing a 29 hunter and staying at 29 it burns me that a hunter on the other side has this and I don't

It's easy to find the plague spreaders in the cemetary, near Abercrombie, but confusing if you are looking for something in the cemetary actually called a "mausoleum"(an above ground structure). You will find the plaque spreaders around a some ruins which leads down to a catacomb (and underground cemetary usually with lot's of rooms and turns) through a hole you would only see after jumping into the ruins. There are tons of spreaders down there to kill, or you could just stay on the surface and kill the ones surrounding it, then wait and wait for them to respawn.

I never knew before but if you go inside the crypt it opens up into a huge room eventually.
After this there is a smaller one with mobs on the sides, if you go to the furthest recess on the right there is a secret tunnel which takes you into a lab-type area with more mobs!

Annoying quest, for 3 reasons:

1. The Plague Spreaders are only in and around the entrance of the Dawning Catacombs (the little hole in the ground). Alternatively, you could go to Forlorn Row, which isn't far away, but there's not that many ghouls there.

2. The different types of ghouls are packed quite close together, and have a fast respawn rate. You may be fighting 2-3 ghouls at one time sometimes.

3. They put a disease called Wandering Plague on you (hence the name) that increases physical damage taken, reduces stamina, and can spread. However, this can be interrupted and cured.

Good luck.

His point was that there is not 12 slot quiver in the game that you can get on the horde side. After you get your 10 slot quiver at level 10 you have to wait for twenty(!) levels before getting an upgrade. Which is admittedly very annoying.
