Bloody Bone Necklace (25)

Description

I was sent to Grom'gol to aid Nimboya on his quest, but... I too have reasons for being here.

The Bloodscalp tribe is enemy to our tribe. Collecting trophies of our enemies gives us power over them. You may aid our tribe by hunting our enemies.

They dwell to the north. Slay Bloodscalp trolls and take from them their bloody bone necklaces. Collect many, and your reward will be great.

I liked this one because I was able to knock out 3 quests in one little patch of STV.
I'm currently a 38 Druid, and waited on these until I could solo them, but it's worth it.
Cords: 30,20
The drop rate is low on the necklaces. But you also have two other quests:
The Defense of Grom'Gol
Hunt For Yenniku

You can get this done at the Bal'lal Ruins (29,19) right ouside Grom'Gol Base Camp.

You should attempt the following quests together,

1) [34] Bloodscalp Insight
2) [34] Hunt for Yenniku
3) [35] Bloodscalp Ears
4) [37] Bloody Bone Necklaces

4 quests done at once.

I would recomend doing this quest if you have a nice big rested exp amount to burn off. Dont just discard the quest its a good way to get the pages for The Green Hills of Stranglethorn. And best cords are at 21 , 14 you will not get mombed there

Easy pickings.&nbsp Go North West from Grol'gol along the shoreline and you'll get to the Bal'lol Ruins.&nbsp I couldn't go and attack everyone in the ruins so I kept on circling around them taking out the stragglers.&nbsp Easy 2100XP and trolls are 33-34.

This quest is NOT meant to be completed all at once, and is a very good quest to grab and do. There are three other standard troll killing quests, one from Grom'grol for Bloodscalp Tusks, one that follows that for shrunken heads from Headhunters on the coast, and one for Bloodscalp Ears from Booty Bay. You'll easily end up with 25 of these doing the other quests, and the trolls will drop Green Hills pages. These can either be sold (usually 10-15s, but you can get 20-25 no problem if there aren't loads on or if you buy them all out) or used (trade the ones you have in 'swaps' obviously).

The mobs tend to pull in twos or even threes in some sections, but there are chests to be had, so if you're going for these then use Poly, Stoneclaw totem, Sap or whatever CC techniques that are available to your class if you're a hunter just pull 18 of them at once and destroy them with impunity.

... are fairly easy to find. You find it near Nessingway's Expedition (check map) at the ruins and at Bal'lol ruins on the Bloodscalps.

The drop rate is undetermanable, but it all gives a nice XP.

I recommend doing the quest. It takes some time, but it gives nice XP plus XP from handing in the quest.

It's so easy that I did the quest when it was RED. I was lvl 32 becoming lvl 33

From the main camp, head along the beach (northwest) and you will find the ruins... (watch out for crocks when running along the beach, they agro and are a pain).

You will find a whole ruins full there, but if you want more, head east from there and you will find another ruins in the jungle with more...

I teamed up with someone else and we got through it in about half an hour... The drop rate seems to be ok... but you have to get quite a lot so.....&nbsp Also it doubles with another quest (find yennuka) so you can do both at once...

The necklaces drop off of any Bloodscalp troll so you shouldn't go off farming them there are plenty of quests you can do with this quest:
Hunt of Yenniku
Headhunting
Bloodscalp clan heads

Something i've found is that if you head to the Zuuldaia Ruins (18,10) there is no-one around, the drops are better, the mobs respawn faster and there's more of them around. the drop rate of the necklaces is still terrible though.

Not sure why this quest was given such a high level. Did this mostly solo (on PvE) as a lvl 32/33 priest (levelled up in the middle). The lvl 32-34 trolls drop them. If your levels are low, just circle the camp and pick them off one by one. They respawn fairly quickly anyway.

Axe throwers are easy pickings.
Scavengers are tougher than axe throwers, but still pretty unremarkable.
Shamans have low health, but do insane amounts of damage.
Warriors can interrucpt casting and cause problems.

I've found the Tkashi ruins to be the easiest for hunting Bloodscalps- they're near the road and located just southeast of Nesingwary's Expedition, so you can pick up quests there easily.

Simply do circles around the ruins, picking off the distanced Bloodscalps. I also recommend doing this with Finding Yenniky and Bloodscalp Ears, so you can get all three done. If you're on the third stage of Tiger Mastery, Elder Stranglethorn Tigers are easily found there too, so that's four quests you could be handling at the same time.

There are 4 types of Bloodscalp at the ruins, all lv34-35:

Axe Thrower- these just shoot from range. Just get in close to force them to melee.
Warrior- Melee units, who pack Shield Bash (spell interrupt) and Disarm, so they have something against any class.
Scavenger- Melee units, nothing too special. Can inflict a 30 second DoT poison that ticks for 19 very 3 seconds.
Shaman- Possess Lightning Shield (about 80 nature damage) and occasionaly use Fire Nova (AoE about 120 fire damage) melee-ers. Inflict a lot of damage, but low hit points, so easily taken down.

All of them enrage at low health, increasing damage dealt, and none of them run.

As a 32 Druid, it was relatively simple. Pull with Starfire, Faerie Fire, drop to Bear and melee. They didn't inflict a lot of damage with the extra armour, and Disarm doesn't affect feral forms. I used cat form for Shamans, since the armour didn't help much.

This quest is difficult only because the necklaces have a very low drop rate maybe 1 out of every 4 or 5 trolls dropped one. (I was level 36 at the time.) Personally, I recommend the beachside ruins over T'kashi, simply because the former has a higher mob count, a faster spawn rate, and you don't have to worry about tigers and panthers sneaking up on you.

Solo'd as Lev 38 Tauren Hunter. Pretty straight forward. Just watch your pulls or you could be knee deep in trolls! You get both Bloody Bone Necklaces & Shrunken Skulls on this one. So have Headhunting quest to make it worth while. Would be tedious to do it 2-3 times.

There are ruins to the Northwest of Grom'Gol, the ones that have the Bloodscalp Trolls, go there and kill them, any kind of them drop the necklaces. Drop rate is pretty decent, it's somewhat of a patience quest. Good quest to rack up some xp though.
