Description

Long ago, a great shudder of the earth sunk an old troll city beneath the waters of the Savage Coast to the northwest. We call that place the Vile Reef, for murlocs now reside in the ruins of the city, attacking any who draw close.

There is an old tablet among those ruins that tells the ancient tale of Gri'lek, a hero of troll legends. The tale is sacred to the Darkspear tribe, and although the tablet is too large to move, I want a shard of it to enshrine in our new home in Orgrimmar.

Why this quest is elite, I have no idea. The tablet is outside the wall of the underwater city, you can snag the shard without getting any aggro.

The tablet is located on the outside of the wall of the ruins to the NORTH of the blue altar.

The tablet is basically on a huge slab that is leaning against the wall.

Your mouse cursor will change to the wheel when hovering over it.

You may be able to get it without aggroing anything inside the walls.

You should do [36] An Unusual Patron which is just at the island off the coast while you're in this area.

there are two tablets, one is leaning against the wall on the back, and the other one is on the other side flat against the wall.

If you try to get the one on the front you'll get aggro from the two murlocs, just go for the one that's leaning on the back.

Just do as others have already instructed.
  • Approach from the North
  • Shard is on northern side of wall at 24,22
If approached from the north and you dive straight down at the coords given(keeping north of the wall) you can't miss it and won't attract any aggro.

Its outside the ruins with all elite mobs. (but at the same high). Its a plate in the outside wall.

This quest is very easy, if u see a blue shining thing that looks like an box at the Ocean floor then ur very near.. (it should be to your left if u come from the ocean and right if u come from Grom'gol base camp)next to the blue shining thing.There's a wall next to the tablet, some murlocs are behind so u shouldn't have any problem looting it.

This is probably one of the easiest quests I've ever wished I'd done earlier. All the info is correct... didn't fight a single thing the entire time. Approach to the north, and you can swim down well outside aggro range. (I don't use a coord-mod, but "east of the big island" was excellent info.)

this quest is doable by everybody just get to the west side of the tablet shard, did it as 30 rogue without using stealth

It appears to me as though there is a tablet on either side of the column.&nbsp The North side tablet (near the blue glowy thing) will attract murlocs- the south side of the column should not.&nbsp I grabbed it with no fight and got out.&nbsp 24,22 is correct.

Did this one with a 38 lock. Just sent my VW in and had him aggro the stuff around the tablet, swam in and got it (there's a chest near the tablet, got that, too), swam out, sacc'd the minion during the escape and went back to Grom'Gol.

just go behind the wall that is behind the table, the&nbsp and get the tablet, you will be able to get it from behind and the mobs won't aggro...

My Level 31 hunter died while doing this quest. I took the opportunity before resing to go down there as a spirit and find the exact spot as you can breathe underwater when you're dead. I then collected my corpse, did one dive and collected the shard. The easiest quest I've done to date.

Quite easy.
Swam down, used Eye of the Beast to desctract the murlocks with my pet... made my pet stay there, got the tablet and got back to the base.

You dont need a group for this one. Just swim to the back of the ruins. Dive down. snatch the tablet and bail. You shouldnt aggro anything. Group. :P

Confirmed at 24,22. Dont worry about the murlocs being elite if you are lvl 34+ you can swim down and grab it without aggroing anything.

Swam down, looked at the wrong tablet and agroed two murlocs. Succubus took one, feared the other and grabbed the tablet.

I dont know the intricacies of other classes, so Im not sure how simple this would be for others.

Exact coords are 24.8, 22.9. Closer to 25,23 than 23,22 which is in the Savage Coast not the Vile Reef. There are two slabs one of which faces the blue aura, the other faces the cliff wall which is accessable without aggroing the elites.

Found it leaning on the Pillar just north of the blue alter. I went to the other side of the pillar to try to sneak close to it and found a 2nd one on the otherside of the 1st. grabbed it without aggroing anything.

Ok it was on 23,22 (NOT 24,22) it is a big difference..

At murlocs (elite) camp you see ruins at those ruins you see a blue thing shining.. you can see that from far away.. its stuck on the blue thing... good luck

Loc for the tablet is 25,22. I was able to swim down and grab it without aggroing anything.
