The Broken Sigil

Retrieve the 5 Sigil Fragments from the defenders in Stromgarde, and bring them to Tor'gan in Hammerfall.

Description

Thoras Trollbane's tomb is protected by three sigils--the first of which you retrieved from the Syndicate. The other two will be harder to get, as they're held by the firmly entrenched Stromgarde militia.

The sigil of Thoradin was divided into five pieces by Thoras' son, Galen, and dispersed among the Stromgarde defenders. Retrieve the pieces and bring them to Tor'gan, the troll shaman, he will be able to bind them into the complete sigil.

head into Stormgarde and go to the right, don't go up the ramp.&nbsp Just kill defenders.&nbsp The drop from these is about 1 in 5.&nbsp The good news is the drop is usually more than 1.&nbsp I got drops of 2, 3, and 4 sigils.&nbsp I thought I was missing something after killing 6 of these guys before getting the first drop.

The Sigil was divided into eleven pieces. Go get five of them and have that shaman glue it together. That'll work. We're cool.

Vinidicators definately drop them... i just got 3 off of one =D. Troll Hunters are Priests... they cast Shadow Word Pain, Heal, and Sleep. I reccomend using Deathcoil if your a loc and have it when they are casting heal... nice interrupt + damage.

The drop rate is totally random... i killed a defender and got 4 from them, killed 3 hunters in a row and got none... just kill them all.

Returning this will allow you to get the quest "Sigil of Thoradin" (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=641). It involves a lot of running back and forth between Stromgarde and Hammerfall. Setting your Hearthstone to Hammerfall will save you one trip.

The trick here, especially if you're solo, is to get inside Stromgarde Keep - then just attack Defenders. These Sigils are dropped frequently and in multiples (i.e. I was getting Sigils 4 at a time). Of course you'll need to get through the gates (defended by Defenders (!), but not difficult if you can stealth...).

Syndicates don't drop these. You need to kill the Stormgarde npcs, go into Stormgarde and make a right, theres a lot of em, just be careful, its Alliance town and you might have trouble if you're on a PVP server :P

Got a drop of a troll hunter as well as the defenders&nbsp - don't know about the vindicators - they do drop in 3s and 4s - took a few kills first

I just did it solo as a lvl 39 paladin.

I had to kill 7 of them. And if you do that one at a time, its fine, as long as you dont get caught by the horse riding patrol )

not just the defenders drop the sigils, the troll hunters also dropped it for me. in fact, one defender dropped 4 sigils at once, then the troll hunter dropped 3 sigils..

For me I killed defenders until finally, after about 10, a vindicator dropped 4.
After that I just targeted the vindicators - 4, 2, 3, drops at a time, till I was finished.

Not easily done solo and im lvl 43. Bring plenty of shards, and potions. You have to kill trolls and defenders for these. They do drops several at a time. But the trolls heal themselves. I was able to handle up to lvl 48 defender, but lvl 48 trolls were difficult. I tried my imp, which gave damage but was killed easily, my VW couldn't hold enough aggro, and the succy was somewhat useless even though they were humanoids. Watch out for the patrols, and only pull one at a time.

I snuck in to Stormgaurd, turn right until you get to the gate with the 2 defenders. watch out for orgre patrol too. At the gate, I used invis potion to get me around the gate and into the back left. There i was able to handle 1 at a time. There were a lvl 47 there, but after respawn they get replaced with higher lvls. Took me 1.5 hours which seems like a lot. Recommend if warlock, getting one other person to assist even at this lvl.

Im a lvl 42 warlock and i just snuck in to the right side of the keep. Then id pull a defender or trollmage back into the rickety shack on the SW corner, and soloed him, Not too hard to do at lvl 42, The hard one to solo is the next sigil, sigil of arathor, read my sigil of arathor post to see how i soloed it--->(Quest #643) Tue Aug 23 01:52:29 2005

the low drop rate on them is made up for by the fact you get 4 sigils a time - feels like you are getting nothing but its quicker than you think.

BTW - watch out if your on a PVP server as the alliance seem to think its clever ganking in the defender area of stromgarde - because they don't get attacked by the mobs there.

15 kills before: 3 dropped.
3 kills for: 4 more to drop.
3 kills for Vindicator: drop 3 more
3 kills for: 4 more.

It started out looking like it was going to take forever to get them all but it wasn't bad once the 1st 3 dropped.

Vindicators seemed to have the best drop rate, most of them gave me 3 per kill while the troll hunters did not drop any for me and were annoying with the self-heal and long sleep spell.

Now you have to go back to Stromgarde and take your first right when you enter. You should see the defenders. And as for the droprate. Its about 400%. I killed 2 of them and got 4 Sigil's so it should take less then a minute.
