Troll Charm (8)

Description

My kinfolk were traveling here with many sacred troll charms, but the Thistlefur furbolgs attacked and killed them before they reached Zoram'gar! Those vile Furbolgs!

I miss my brothers and sisters who were killed, but we will meet again in the afterlife. However, their troll charms hold great value in this world. It is an outrage that the furbolgs have them!

<name>, you must retrieve the charms! They are in chests in Thistlefur Hold, a cave at the end of Thistlefur Village, north of Astranaar.

The entrance to the hold is located at 38, 30
The enemies inside aren't much ahrder than on the outside, in Thistlefur Village but the big difference is that u often have to take on two at once. If not 3.

Chests look likr this

Careful in this cave, things respawn very quickly. Watch your back as you progress through it or you'll end up with respawned adds easily. The troll chests respawn quickly as well though, so you can circle around one room and finish the quest pretty quickly.

just got killed by a mob that wasn't visible to me (gj blizz) so i might as well post.&nbsp everyone else here said how they killed or solo'd these mobs, im going to tell u where to find the damn cave.&nbsp it is north at the end of a path, but the whole village is north and has many paths.&nbsp i read a previous post that said something about an archway.&nbsp the cave is under the BIG STONE archway.&nbsp not the small stone archway, not the big wooden archway.&nbsp be careful before u even enter the cave u might get killed by an invisible mob shooting darts at you.&nbsp gl and hope this quest is more fun for u than it is for me right now.&nbsp >.<

~Warbabe, BE hunter

PS-
there is an easy escort quest as u enter the cave at the first left.&nbsp it is a white bear name Ruul.&nbsp u will find him in a cage in the water.&nbsp be sure to get all of your charms before beginning the quest.&nbsp gl!

Everything respawns really quickly so stay in the same area and you'll be done in no time. I stayed in the area where you pick up the escort quest and I was done in 5 minutes.

You can do this one at the same time as the "Between a rock and a Thistlefur" quest. As you kill all the Thistlefus you can work your way up the to the Thistlefur city. Once in the gate fight your way to the top and take notice of a arched area. Head up there for the cave entrance. Inside the cave you should work your way toward the back. While doing so you'll see the chests for this quest.

My results:
You gain 1950 experience.
Your reputation with Darkspear Trolls increased.
Received 17 Silver

In addition to watching your back, if you happen to go across the bridge, keep an eye below, I pulled 5 adds just by standing on the bridge when a patrol happened by. ><

I didn't find it very clear how to enter the cave.... I went around the cliff face to the left of the Thistlefur camp in hope of the cave being on that bit of green where the loc is placed.

If you encounter a load of troll warlocks with imps and a few blood elfs holding tourches you have gone the wrong way.. reach 31.47 and keep going north untill you hit a cave loc 38.30

I, too, suffered the damage from an unknown source. It started when I got near Thistlefur Hold (the cave). Eventually I figured out there was a Thistlefur Pathfinder stuck in a hill, shooting me with arrows. I experienced this with Foulweal (sp?) Furbolgs as well. Stupid glitchy mobs falling into the terrain.

Well for those of us that don't have pets or AOE this isn't exactly easy.&nbsp It can be easy if you just stick around the entrance and keep killing the well spaced mobs and pick up the chests as they repop around you.&nbsp However, there are bunch more chest you can get to if you bring a group and plow through the group of 2-3 mobs huddled around the tents

you can cross the mountians just to the SW of the hold. but only a skilled mountian-man will know what to do to get up them :)

I actually solo'd this as a 25 priest. Mind soothe is your best friend here. Many mobs you can skip fighting by soothing them and simply nudging up to the Troll Charm box. If things do get hairy (i.e., you aggro a Totemic and a Den watcher thing) take out the Totemic first to get rid of his heals, and take out the healing stream totem as well. It's a piece of cake. :)

I did it as a lvl 22 rogue took me a while and i died twice. But patience and ambush rule! Just cleared them one by one and then circled an area and voila i was done.

the thistlefurs in the cave are pretty easy, ranging from lvl 23-24, however they respawn quite rapidly and have a far aggro/assist range. While singles or doubles do not pose a significant threat, Be mindful of the respawn time or you might find yourself with 4 or 5 on you. The boxes that contain the charms also reappear quickly as well.

Easily done solo as a Lvl 26 Warlock with Voidwalker. Just make sure you have all your own protections on, and do not pull more than 2 at a time. If you get a totemic, take it and its heal ward out first, then go after the other. Do NOT loot their bodies until your certain your not going back into that area as it slows down the respawn a little.

gah i did this as a lvl 26 or 27 shaman. it was fairly simple since i just carefully pulled them one by one. i accidently aggroed one too many and before i knew it, im running as fast as i can with 9 of them after me O_O. if your doing this quest, there is another while you're in there. it has to deal with freeing some druid i think (or white polar bear). if you can, try crowd controlling them....or find some high level to help you :D

the quest was no fun as a 23 druid. the respawn rates are ridiculously fast (no joke) and don't be suprised when you back up and realize that you have 4 or 5 on you. use stealth if possible to sneak around unneccesary mobs to get the charms.

Soloed this on a 22 BE hunter. It was rough, died twice, but it can be done with judicious use of ice trap and mana tap, since you can't count on time to sit and drink. Enough chests spawn in the passages that you can avoid the group scene, but it will take longer. If you plan on escorting Ruul out when you're done, though, brings friends.

These chests are inside the cave. I would go in with at least 2 guys because they are groups of 2 and 3.
