MacKreel's Moonshine

Take MacKreel's Moonshine to Brewmeister Bilger in Southshore.
MacKreel's Moonshine
Provided Item:
MacKreel's Moonshine

Description

Had quite a bit of the ol' Moonshine last night! Longbraid would have my head if he knew that I passed out during my watch.

The noggin hurts something fierce. Felt as though a whole brigade of siege engines passed overhead, all that rumbling.

Oh my, look at the time! I promised Brewmeister Bilger in Southshore that I'd repay my debt to him by sending some Moonshine.

But there are just 15 minutes left before I'm overdue! Take him this batch, would you please? And hurry!

As an extra go through the Thandol Span series first, finish by grabbing Plea to Alliance from Rhag Garmason just south of the bridge first.&nbsp You can then swing by Refuge Pointe on your way to Southshore for a few extra xp.

The guy that gives this quest is in the remnants of the west bridge of Thandol Span. The only way to him is by jumping from the north side.&nbsp

Like guidomuse, I jumped from the right-hand curb.&nbsp It's a fairly easy jump if you can increase your jumping distance, eg. cat form, light fall, swiftness potion...&nbsp But, depite repeated attempts, it does not seem possible to make it sans buff.&nbsp

If you're in a party have one at a time try.&nbsp Once someone has it then the rest can go clear out the dwarves (see below) while s/he smims around to the 'ramp'.&nbsp Then share the quest.

Once you've made it across, fall to the water and swim east.&nbsp There's no mobs in the water here.&nbsp Don't bother heading into the little inlet you may notice, you just want the walk-able bank on the north side.&nbsp Head up this 'ramp' and you'll make it to the area where you destroyed the explosives in Thandol Span.

In Arathi Highlands there is a Horde group of 5 level 35's that walk this road from time to time, they're part of another quest.&nbsp Otherwise the worst is one or two low 30 mobs.

15 minutes is plenty of time to walk, run, swim, fly, hearth or dance your way to the town of Southshore.&nbsp Once at the SS inn, head toward the 'kitchen' and down to the cellar.&nbsp

Unfortunately, I missed the other quest mentioned, a letter near the base of the bridge.

Very easy quest for 3050 exp and 55 silver.

To make the jump, use potion, Aspect of Cheetah, or whatever else you can use to get across the bridge. If you pan downward, you'll see the best spot to make the jump it's obvious.

You'll have 15 mins to get the delivery to the basement of the Inn at Southshore. Before you do the quest, make the SS Inn your home inn so you can just hearthstone over there really quick.

Use Levitate mainly here. Important: you cannot use jump with spell. Go to the right fartest ramppoint before you 'walk' off to the ramp below, 45 degrees to left.

Then immediately after accept quest jump off in water, heading directly to west/Southshore over water.
You make long levitate walk. Thanks the spell has no cooldown, you can keep spell up while walking before it goes off.
Look out for mobs there when you see Southshore. Walk more to left to keep out the aggro range, or you lose spell and fall in water. That happens to me, but swimming is no big problem because i have enough time.
You need approx. 4-5 feathers for just 5-6 minute run. Over water is also much shorter than through zones!

If you're a druid, you can just use the Aquatic Form and swim directly to Southshore, took me roughly 6 minutes. Watch out for the Nagas in the Eastern Strand ;)

Took me roughly a 12 minute run from the quest npc to Southshore. In the beginning it seem'd like a total fail, after I took the ledge from the _east_ I had already lost 3 minutes because I swam to wrong place. Took Refugee Pointe flightpoint on the way and still managed to nail it in time on foot :)

Also a Mage's slow fall spell or a Priest Levitate will get you over there as you jump.

I play a priest and the first time I tried using levitate and floating over, only to watch myself barely miss and slowly float to the water, so I went to the AH and bought 3 swiftness potions for about 1g 25s. I just activated levitate, then drank the potion and I actually almost overshot it lol. once I got the quest I just water walked over to SouthShore. only took maybe 5 min. I did this quest at level 37 though, so I only recieved 1850 xp. I dont know how hard it is to just plain jump over with the swiftness potion, but with levitate or slowfall, it is very easy

The NPC to turn the quest into is in the basement of the inn.

Another commenter is correct about the swim. From the quest starter's tower to Southshore left me with about 5 minutes left on my timer.

Eaxy XP. 15 minutes is more than enough to do this quest.

Did the quest with my 28 draenei shaman.
- Ghost Wolf to get to the platform.
- Water Walking to get to Faldir's Cove.
- Ghost Wolf to get to Southshore.

Made it to Southshore with 9min 23sec left on the timer and realized I should've gone to go get the Arathi Highlands Flight Point on the way anyway.

If you're having problems making the jump, or for whatever reason dosen't have any movement increasing effects, you can die by the edge and make the jump as a ghost (125% running speed)

For Rouges it turns out the sprint
will make up the jumping distance.&nbsp I stood on
the right hand curb hit sprint and ran and jumped along the 45deg cut to the outcrop across and below. After that the quest took only seconds. The hearthstone trick right on the money.&nbsp

To make the jump, you will have to run faster in some way (speed potion, ghost form etc.) but once you have got the quest you can deliver it within 15 minutes without problems even if you are running at normal speed all the way through Arathi and Hillsbrad.

I made it with my dwarf priest at level 34 (the quest was green then, by the way). First, to make the jump, I would of course have used Levitate, but I was out of reagents, so I decided to use the ghost method. With Power word: shield and mindblast it was very easy to drag a raptor all the way out on the bridge, and then I let it kill me. In ghost form it then no problem to make the jump successfully, and resurrect on the other side.

Once I got the quest, I jumped down, and swam east until I could get up from the water. Then I ran through the dwarves to the road, and basically followed the road all the way to Southshore. I even managed to take a short detour to Refugee point to deliver a quest and get the flightpoint there.

When I got to Southshore I had 3 minutes to spare, so, really, you don't have to waste a speed potion (unless you want to). Oh, by the way, the person you shall deliver it to is in the basement of he inn, not on the top floor.

Maybe the way to this quest is similiar to the trolls in Darkshire. Noggenflogger? If I fail after 3 attempts I will wait until i'm able to go to Gad to get the freefall brew :)

good luck

First: the jump isn't that hard, the screenshot provided by Synamage shows exactly where to make it. You come from the north, face south towards the quest guy side, and do a running jump.

To make it to Southshore within the time limit was pretty easy. I jumped off into the water and swam WEST, turned into Faldir's Cove, and there is a sloping path upward that leads to a tunnel that comes out behind Stromgarde Keep in Arathi Highlands. You have to run all the way behind the keep and come out on it's East side. After that you just follow the road to the West. I cut cross country, avoiding the spiders and bears and made it to Southshore and to the quest NPC with more than 5 minutes to spare.

I was level 29.

best explanation for this quest appears to be given by gatohaus and guidomouse. I only wanted to comment that I noticed the "jump by death" trick was completed by Dwarves. I kept missing it, even when I was dead, and thought for a second, a human couldn't do it.. when bam! I made it. :) .&nbsp So, if you don't mind taking a serious beating, try it. It works. I tried drowning to death, the beatings were so VIOLENT, but the drowned body was too far away to resurrect...so there you go.

I did the jump twice a row as a hunter, my gear has simply no stamina at all and I took the ramp first time (agroing all the dark iron dwarves there) I died SO close to freedom.

Anyways, I used Aspect of the Cheetah (30% movement speed) and it was easy - don't be scared to jump from the very, very edge. I had plenty of "back up-space" left when I landed both times.

Also, the ramp is a good choice for hunters if you land a trap, agro the mobs with your pet and run away - you can even save your pet by mending it - i wasn't prepared. The run by land is the fastest choice if you're 1. a shaman (Ghost Wolf) 2. A hunter (AotC)

Druids can use the swimming form, if youre unsure of your skills to pass the dwarves, its very safe to take the watery route; it takes an estimated 10 minutes to go that way. In my opinion this quest is quite simple, 10 min for 3k'ish XP, 55 silvers and a hefty amount of reputation to Ironforge!

You can do this as any class without speed bonus, you just need to die.

Pick up mobs from the the other side of the bridge, walk to the spot where you need to jump, be sure to keep the mobs on you. When you are at the jump spot, let the mobs kill you, then ghost walk back, jump across with 125% ghost movement, and accept res.

Done!
