Take Silverwing Outpost.

Description

Hey! <class>! Come here!

My raiders and I are about to attack the Silverwing Outpost to the west. Our target is its leader, Duriel Moonfire. Scouts report the outpost is defended heavily with sentinels and warriors. The battle will be glorious!

Do you want to share in the glory, <name>, and aid us? If so, then when it's over you can report our success to my superior, Ertog Ragetusk in Splintertree.

What do you say. Are you with us?

I found this quest to be a lot easier if you clear out the path to the silverwing hold and the little house as well before you start the quest. He will run directly in to the house and not have to fight his way in. When you get in the house he'll walk around for a second and then 4 mobs will come in. Healers can heal the NPCs and just let them fight. Keep Torek alive or you fail the quest. If you die and Torek is still up, don't release until he has killed the mobs, you should still get credit for the quest.

This guy doesn't stop to help if you attack mobs first, so just stand back and let him run in, if it's not clear.

Heh, and I just thought he was loony or something. Kept talking to his "raiders" that did not exist, I figured he'd gone crazy and they were imaginary friends (sort of like that dwarf in Burning Steppes that's loony). I was surprised to find he's supposed to have guards.

It's a good idea to make sure he has them before starting -- might work to start the quest, let him go die alone, abandon and restart.

Completed last night without difficulty. I cleared the path up to the Outpost, and the Outpost itself, before running back and initiating the quest. Torek and his three henchmen then ran (no walking!) up inside the Outpost.

We waited maybe fifteen seconds or so before Duriel and three night elf NPCs spawned inside. After defeating them, Torek ordered me to report to Splintertree while he and his forces held the Outpost. I did not wait to see if/when he despawned.

Duriel Moonfire seems to never spawn. I put in a ticket and the GM told me that this is a known issue and they would try(?) to fix it on a future update. And I was really looking forward to getting that Polished Walking Staff.

UPDATE 10 August: I abandoned and restarted. Duriel and 4 warriors ran in the door once all the people were cleared from the building. After dying because I assumed the quest was still bugged, I abandoned it again. This time I cleared the path to the building and all defenders in the building before taking the quest. Concentrate attacks on Duriel and it's a piece of cake.

I have done this quest like 6 or 7 times and the boss doesnt spawn... even if you gain 2400 xp... it is not worth it to do it... I am still not able to do this quest...... if anybody knows about the bug being fixed... let me know!

Or how to make this guy spawn... anybody?

I just tried it 4 times. Boss still wont spawn.&nbsp GM says they are aware of it.&nbsp I guess fixing this quest is not a priority given how long the problem has existed.

Yeah, I'm having the same problems. I tried this 3 times: twice I cleared the entrance and the house, and went back to start the quest. He just runs into the building, standing around until he disappears. The third time I decided to let the Night Elves respawn and fought them with Torek, and the same thing happened.

Dumb.

I'm not sure why so many previous comments were downrated. This quest is commonly bugged and hasn't been permanently fixed as of 2.2.3. It is useful information for players to know to contact a GM when it is bugged, and that it can only be fixed during maintenance. Common bugs are Duriel Moonfire and her escort not appearing after the outpost has been cleared and also Torek's escort not respawning after a failed attempt (though that is not really quest breaking).

You should also know that Torek does not regen health when out of combat, and bandaging him does not work. You can only heal him if you have a healing class in your group. If you are going to solo the quest then the above tips about clearing the area beforehand are a great help.

Well, I did this quest on my shaman, boss didn't pop.
Did it on my priest, she popped, no problems.

Doing it on my hunter now...(lvl 23)
1) Boss popped, aggroed ME, killed me (can't FD yet and disengage is useless)
2) Right as I start the quest, some !@#$%^bag lvl 29 Alli hunter kills all my NPCs.
3) After waiting 20min for his guards to repop, I tried it with him alone, HE got killed.
4) He respawned with guards and I completed it.

To echo everyone else's comments; I cleared the whole area first, spoke to the NPC and accepted the quest. No NPCs came with Torek, so it was just me and him. We went straight inside the building, where four Elves ran in from behind us. I thought it would be a good idea to grab the aggro, so thunderclapped then got beaten senseless and died.. !

One long long corpserun later, I get back to my body, so sign of Torek or a boss, just dead Elves, ressed and faught back to Torek only to find him with his three friends, and I wasn't able to talk to him to restart the quest.

I looked in my log to drop what I thought was a failed quest, only for it to be complete. Huh?

Ah well. Very very bugged.

DAMN I knew he had his guys the last time I played with my main, I thought the quest was nerfed or something, but I did it with him alone with my lvl 24 druid. Unfortunately, the 4 spawns went for me, Torek was busy with one of them and I tried to do the best with the other 3, including Duriel, which was a very close combat. I found out that running out of the house will force the foes to run back inside and fight Torek, so I had time to drink and eat, then I ran inside, healed Torek and finished off the guys... gl hf

Make sure that the other Horde warriors have spawned before you start the quest. The first time I attempted it, I was under the impression that he would summon help ... I was wrong.

In agreement with previous posters, clearing the path and the house first help speed the quest up.

Ran into the middle of this quest as an Alliance Warrior level 23. The Horde player must have died or gotten lost, never saw them at the outpost, I managed to kill a few of Torek's guards but he took me out.

the quest got "failed"

we've done it in 1.7.

Took me 3 or 4 tries at lvl 26 (finished @ lvl 27) as a Tauren Shaman. I ended up just doing the first few as ranged, then running in and killing them off as quickly as possible to avoid damage to Torek. Just take it as slowly as possible, don't aggro the ones inside the room until the orcs do it for you (heal yourself etc in that time) and don't bother looting the night elves till you're finished the quest. Eventually I died when the last 4 rushed in. I managed to take down 1, and weaken the other but I'd aggro'ed so much that Torek had plenty of health to kill the rest, so despite my death I still finished it. Don't forget to collect the loot at the end and claim your reward (which I just vendored) at Splinter Tree

Solo'd it on a 23 shaman, worked fine. Really great q, with Torek yelling horde slogans for the whole thing.

Possibly the most fun quest I've ever done, wish I could retry it.
