Syndicate Emblems

Additional requirements to obtain this quest:
  • Your reputation with Ravenholdt must be at least Neutral
  • Your reputation with Ravenholdt must be lower than Friendly
We have been entrenched in a battle with the Syndicate for years. What they lack in skill they make up for in numbers. It's impossible to kill them off fast enough to have any noticeable impact on their population!

We've found that the best way to deal with their size is to pilfer their emblems. Once an emblem is stolen the shamed member is 'dealt' with internally.

Pick their pockets clean and turn the emblems in to me or one of the other guards.

Start at Durnholde, south of here.

10 or 11 tokens for friendly...but more importantly they've got Winstone Wolfe in the house.&nbsp he solves problems.

It doesn't say it, but you need only a few emblems. You get 250 rep per emblem (a bit more for humans, I guess) and you can not turn in emblems after you have gotten friendly with Ravenholdt. That, or friendly plus one.

Given the fact that I gathered over 80 of these, I could call that a waste. Oh well.

This quest will only get you to friendly, after that you have to do https://classicdb.ch/?quest=8249 to increase your rep (which does nothing, there's nothing to unlock at higher rep levels... yet!)

Go to Durnholde Keep, pickpocket 12 Emblems and turn them all in. (You'll get friendly before the last turn in, but you can still turn in that last emblem for 250 points into friendly.)

The Emblems are pickpockted off of the Syndicate humanoids at the Durnholde Keep and surrounding towers (76,42 Hillsbrad). At level 29 the turn ins gave me 250 Ravenholdt rep per, even though Wowhead reports it as 100 per (2.0.1 live).

At level 24 you can go to Shenthul, the rogue trainer in Origmar. He'll offer you your 'next job', accept it, and open the letter. take the seal to Ravenholdt. The entrace is at 75, 24 in hillsbrad. Follow the trail up, and when you see the first 2 guards, enter the tunnel. Midway through the tunnel you'll see a chest. Pick it, but beware, it summons a level 33 elite. Vanish and contiue through the tunnel to find the Ravnholdt Manor. Make your way to the second floor and to the balcony to talk to Fahrad to turn in the quest for 250 rep. After that you can turn in the Syndicate emblems that you pick pocket from the syndicates in Durnholde. At 250 rep per turn in, it'll take you 11 turn ins, counting the origional quest, to get to friendly. after that is unknown.

As anyone else had the situation where the Ravenholt guard will only accept the emblems one by one? I collected 20 and decided to check them in to see if there were enough, but when I checked my standing it had only improved by 275. This just didn't seem to tally with other mails in this thread as I worked out I would need about a 100. When I checked my baggage I still had 19 emblems left so in the end I had to keep giving her 1 at a time until I got the message I was now friendly. This proved to be 10 so I assume that's the amount everyone will need to collect, but if I'm wrong don't jump on me.

As Horde, you can get the quest from the Rogue trainer in Silvermoon City for sure. Probably other Rogue trainers as well. You receive a letter (seal) inviting you to go find the Ravenholdt Manor. Make sure you have the Find Traps skill before you start!

Well, you get a lot of these if you pickpocket while questing at Stromgarde Keep in the Arathi Highlands. Other than handing them in at Ravenholdt, they are utterly useless.

Hey, I'm not sure but I think the next quest for the rogues at the hidden place is for lvl 50. You have to do a huge chain to get like a mask, boots, or a cloak. It's fun but long and I think that's why you can't do anything yet. Hope That's accurate and helps you out man :D Best Of Luck To You Fellow Rogues Out There!

OH yeah , can i please get choords to Durnholde Keep?

I got mine from the rogue trainer in Ironforge.&nbsp You start by heading there and detecting the trap on a chest.&nbsp Then you pick the pockets of the syndicate in Durnholdt.&nbsp Need 10 or 11.&nbsp Turn the emblems you get into guards at Ravenholdt one at a time til you get friendly.

Nothing else I have found to do.&nbsp But in the basement is a gnome that is a Specialty Engineering vendor and I bought a Gnomish Cloaking Device schematic off him.

Well, as I've seen on the rest of the posts about this quest, it's kind of useless at this time to waste to much time with it. Yet, I got kinda luck getting a nice rare drop worth about 20g so I guess it wastn't to much of a waste after all. Wish it was something useful to me and not a lousy lv.17 driud drop...Starsight tunic.

When I jumped happily down the narrow road from Ravenholdt to the keep where I was told I was going to find the emblems, I found out that another rogue had pocketpicked all the mobs in that area already. "What a waste of time", I thought and started killing them so they could respawn. What if those who did this quest would actually kill those they picked, so that when the next ones come, they won't need to do the same thing as I did. I was LvL 29, so it was no problem doing this, but I guess there are others from LvL 24-> who'd appreciate that.

Cheers

I was friendly with the guards and other assassins or whatever they are and got kind of boored so I went with my 34 rogue and picked some emblems ( 107 actually and cross my heart I did have them ) tried eeevery guard but no one wants the emblems, so I destroyed them :S And to think I wanted to do something different from qesting, grinding and things like that and then in the end all this time spent I didn't do anything -_- Oh well ... that's life, the screwed up way that is ...

as far as i can tell, iv'e noticed these things about the quest. please follow to make this quest easier for you, and others after you. help your rogue brethern out!

first, you get the quest... it seems odd, like you should be able to continue, but you can't. that's because you have not yet taken any emblems. so, what do you do?

head south, down to the ruins of durnholde keep. the syndicate here are easier than the one's of the foothills... and we rogues like easy, yes?

there you must pick pocket the syndicate to get the emblems. they always ask to bind to you, make sure you say yes. then, this is the most important, kill who you stole from. for some reason blizzard didn't make it so that their pickpocketable items reset, unless they die. if you pickpocket and get nothing, kill them, so they respawn with something. this makes the quest longer... but actually easier for you. you need exactly 27 emblems to do the quest (from my and fellow rogue's reports) but you might as well pick up 30 to be safe.

now, after pickpocketing and killing the syndicates, head back to the manor. yes, you have to hand them in one at a time, so find anyone at or around ravenholt manor with an exclamation point over their head, and hand them in.

oddly, they all start talking about how you should visit the "wolf." he's in the manor, in a tux, on the main floor near a table. and yet he oddly has no quest to give. if anyone knows what to do from here, let me know. i assume it's based on character level or skill in rogue dealings (like lockpicking)level. all and any speculations are fair game at this point.

So far I've handed in about 10 of them before I came here to find out how many I needed to get. I've noticed it doesn't give you XP points for each one. Do you get some when you hand in all 30 or is it only for faction?

Best place to farm these I've found is the camp on Corrahn's Dagger in the Alterac Mountains. Each mob has one, as opposed to the ones at durnhold keep where it's hit or miss. You can pickpocket about 9 of them at a time, kill the camp, then wait for respawn.

just did this and got 30 emblems, it took 29 to get to friendly.

after I hit friendly I could still turn in the extra one, so i think if you have them in your inventory you can keep turning them in for rep.

i hate blizzard for this...i mean, we rogues have a crap quest like that, that doesnt even give us anny reward, and form lvl 40 up or so, we dont get any other class-quests...is this quest suppused to make up for that lack? it's gotten a bit boring without class-specified quests, they are the ones where you ahve to think a bit...oh well, lets hope it'll get better with the next patch...the best thing would be a an epic-quest, but i'm not really hoping for much there...

If you go out to Durnholde to pickpocket emblems, you can also work up your lockpicking skill by opening the junk boxes they drop. Inside of them is generally just money and other junk, but a couple of times I've stumbled upon a rare item that sold in the AH for 1g+, and I've also gathered a stack of healing potions from unlocking these so-called 'junk' boxes. So, questline may not be finished... But it's still a worthwhile place to hang out.

Without going on for too long... the posts included in the attached threads are accurate. I was at lvl 30 and had absolutely no problem breezing through the collection of the emblems.

Best advice - grab the lockboxes to work on your lockpicking skills. The main point of this post was to report that as of this date ( Feb 6 ), it would appear that the end result of turning in the emblems was a referral to wolf. I've been told that this is a lvl 55 requirement to begin the quest, so I'll be making a note and then following up when I reach that point.

You can take more than one emblem at a time you just have to unstack them. Take as many emblems as you have empty slots in yout bags then just unstack them all before you talk to the guards. Wash, rinse, repeat and save yourself a few trips.

Thus far that I've seen the syndicate rogues and such only drop their emblems, pocketwatches, empty wallets, and the occasional junk box (whatever it's called). Overall the only benefit you get from doing the Ravenholdt Manor quests are access to a Shady Dealer, access to a trainer that lists all abilities that are learnable (not that he's any better than other trainers), and if anything you lose the 10% discount you'd get for going to a rogue trainer of a faction you are honored with.

Perhaps if they eventually do give Winstone Wolf a quest for the rogue community it'll offer something useful (say a quest to get some better thief's tools or perhaps an improved version of a currently available ability (i.e. the ability to steal from players of the opposite faction) who knows that's all up to Blizzard which at this time seems to be sleeping on the issue.
