Zinfizzlex's Portable Shredder Unit

I'm as anxious as you are to try out my portable shredder unit, <race>, but before I can make the kit, I'm going to need materials - lots of materials! To be exact, I'm going to need a mountain of thorium, mithril, and iron. I will also need one steamsaw per unit. You'll have to get those at the lumber mill. When I was nosing around in here (before my capture) I noticed a pile of steamsaws at the Stormpike lumber camp. Master Engineer Zinfizzlex wants you to bring him the following:

I believe this quest and the goblin NPC for it have been removed from Alterac Valley. All part of Blizzard's attempts to change AV from an epic full-scale war battleground to one of light 40-minute skirmishes.

The turn in Gnome -- Ziz, for this is behind the Shadowolf GY area. He is laying down at the very back and you must get to him to get the quest going. He says he will meet you back at your camp. I tried 3 times tonight and finally on 3rd game he lived long enough to make it back to the Horde Camp. I made a straight shot to him at the start, ran past the elites that start out with SF and Feigning at his feet, got up , cliked away at him, and then ended up in our local GY. I waited for a few minutes and found him in Horde camp, on the back left of the Blacksmith in the Village.

After you get him to your side, anyone can then recieve this quest.

Can you summon it outside of Alterac? Might be worth doing prior to farming honor in Warsong for three days, or even in PVE.

its in BG of Alterac

you need to do that quest while in BG

This quest was removed from Alterac Valley with the first map change. To get and complete this quest, you had to first escort the goblin out of a troll cave behind Snowfall Graveyard. The reward had a timer on it so it was not permanent.
