Ivus the Forest Lord

The Frostwolf Clan is protected by a taint of elemental energy. Their shaman meddle in powers that will surely destroy us all if left unchecked.

The damage has grown too great for the Circle to control! Ivus must be called to our aid.

The Frostwolf soldiers carry elemental charms called storm crystals. We can use the charms to conjure Ivus. Venture forth and claim the crystals, <name>!

Summoning Ivus isn't really required anymore since the typical game just involves zerging the Horde base and the game is usually done within 45 min. I have been in very few AV battles that last long enough to need him. If you are looking for rep just turn in the crystals to the druids, but don't bother asking them to summon Ivus, they will die long before they reach the spawn point anyway.

Ivus is worth only one thing apart from rep and honour, when the horde have ice blood gy bottlenecked and alliance are unable to push any further south, summon Ivus and boom horde swept aside in about 20 seconds once he gets his wandering about the middle of the field of strife out of the way. Because once IB gy is taken horde will just kite him to their tunnel and pwn him, He's just a big bad battering ram :)

I have heard 1000, but I do not know how reliable that is.

Can anyone confirm how many people it takes to summon him? I know it's quite a few, but have never been sure of the actual number.

The alliance can spawn this guy after turning in enough storm crystals to the NPC druids. I think it is 250 have to be turned in.

I summoned him last night. I am not sure how many crystals it takes, but I put in about 100 to finish the quest (who knows how many were done before me?). You will know you are within a hundred because there will be a message appear in the dialog box for the turn in saying something about hearing him in the distance.

Once you turn in enough, there is a tell sent out that the time for summoning has come. The four druids mount horses and start riding south. I had just about everything go wrong that could, so I learned some useful things to help you.

The opposing horde boss had already been called and was making his way up the main road to our base. I thought we were doomed, so I ran out in front to suicide in hopes that everyone could get past. It turned out that he didn't target either the NPCs or players escorting. I couldn't even attack him myself even though he had gleefully destroyed me earlier. He was alone, so maybe that is why he didn't aggro?

The druids go to a summoning stone near the lake in the center of the map. They will form a circle, but the players must click on the stone in the ground next to them. It is just like doing a warlock summon. You do need to have ten players. We had a lot of trouble convincing people to help. It went on for a quite a few minutes (so you do get some time to gather up a group).

We finally got nine of ten, but then the horde attacked us. I thought we were going to fail, but we killed the horde and a tenth player arrived so we started channeling again and it worked. So if you get attacked, don't despair, just fight them off and get back to channeling as quickly as possible.

Once Ivus arrived, he just stood around for a long time. I was worried that the horde would win because their boss was already at our base. Obviously that could happen, but I guess all you can do is wait for him to decide to move. Once he does, he will gradually work his way down to the horde base. He can do a pretty good job of killing anything in his way. You might need to heal/buff him to keep him going.
