Description

<name>, there's one more part I need from the elementals here in the Badlands: the bracers of rock binding from the greater rock elementals. By my calculations, those bracers should be enough to gauge the strength of my own shackles.

My attempts at scrying the greater rock elementals showed a group of them southwest of here, near some ogres if I recall.

Bring me 5 of their bracers just so I have extras. Servo's notorious for misplacing my reagents and research.

coordinate 13, 82 comfirmed.
Did it with my 41 shaman had no problem at all.
If you are 40 just avoid those 44 elementals.
Drop rate's good, about 40%~50%.
Only killed a few and the quest was done.

I found another spot where theres heaps more elementals. West of Camp Cagg at (3,82) there's a whole gang of em. The droprate was around 1/6.

Location 6,73 to 4,81. Mobs are lvl 42-44, drop rate about 70%. Easily soloed as a lvl 43 druid. They are on the hill next to the dustbelch ogres at dustbelch grotto for those without cosmos. Good XP (about 500 each) and the various rocks that drop sell to vendors for good money so a nice, easy, worthwhile quest.

lol i killed about 8 of them and got the 5 bracers that you need for the quest. cords are 15, 89.
For those without cords: if you look at the map youll need to go all the way to the south west corner to a cave. the caves name is dustbelch grotto. if you look at the big map when you press M, head to the C in dustblech. you should see the entrance to the valley from there

Go to 14.86 and kill Greater Rock Elementals around 60% drop for me 42lvl shadow priest. 4800exp at 2.3

You kill Greater Rock Elemental's level 42-44 for the quest item and from what I can tell they have a very good drop rating. I killed no more then 10 elementals to complete the quest.

Good drops on this even with poor rate on bracers, lot of auctionables, elemental earth, deeprock salt, solid stone.&nbsp overall, totally worth it for me, even though took a long time.

Quest showed up as yellow to me at 40, yet the mobs are often 43-44, and therefore orange. Just a word of warning to 40s, because it will be a bit slower to complete for most, having to fight orange mobs.

These are pretty popular mobs and they only hang out in a little cove area above the ogres. 13.85 is the correct coordinate pair as well.

For me, the drop rate was definitely better at 3:77 (west of Cagg). I only got one after 10-12 at 13:88 (south of Cagg). Went to 3:77 and got two in a row and the last two within about 5-8 minutes.

5s 30c for the most expensive of the rocks. Only worth it if you get huge amounts. Which you don't.

Went 4 for 5 then killed Rumbler, 45 grey elite, got Champions Girdle of the Falcon off him - Mail, 143 armor 10+ agility, intell. Killed 8 more to get the last bracer. Mobs were a mix of 42,43 and 44's. Probably about 8 - 10 mobs in that little valley at 14, 86

Took 4 kills for 2 bracers against lv 42 Stone Elementals (solo lvl 37 Druid, Stamina build). Long hard fight - no attack spells as all resist, just build combo as Cat, Rip then heal. Died then teamed up for other 3. New respect for Druid as played Mage for long time and used to blast'em quick approach.

It seems the drop rate has changed again, first six kills and nothing, dropped on the 7th, 8th, 11th, 13th, 15th. Ho hum. The 44's have a greater drop rate.
Level 40 feral druid, I used starfire, moonfire then switched to Dire Bear. Faerie Fire was no use as they are immune.
Good mithril nearby as well.

Go for the Greater Rock Elementals to the west of the ogre camp. These ones seem to have a much higher drop rate for no apparent reason.

I did this quest at lvl42 and got 3450XP the drop rate for me sucked. I killed about 40 of them before i got all 5 bracers. The greater rock elements can be found in the mountains/hills behind Dustbelch Grotto. they are level 42-44
