Check out the page on the item itself. It shows you who sells it. It is not common though, I waiting at Sovic in Orgrimmar for about 40 minutes and it didn't pop on the merchant. I think other items popped and act as a place holder.

I went to Ratchet, wasn't there.
Caught the leisure cruise over to Booty Bay, and it wasn't on Mazk.

Hoofed it up to the Blunderflame brothers and found it on Knaz Blunderflame.

The gyrochronatom popped up on Gnaz about 10-15 minutes after I bought a schematic off him. The schematic was available again too at the same time, so maybe my place holder theory is incorrect.

Purchased on off an engineering vendor in Dwarven Dist. in SW. No problem at all. Hardest part for me was finding the Badlands.

Gyrochronatom is crafted by an engineer, requires 1 Gold bar, and 1 Iron bar.

Thought i'd mention that seems a no-one did.
If you do not have engineering, then just buy from the Auction House, at any main city.

The next part of this "Chain" does not automatically pop up. It requires that you complete the "Study of the Elements: Rock" chain as well. Once both are completed, you get the "This is going to be Hard" quest. Once you complete that, you get a spiffy trinket that is basically the rogues sprint ability (+50% run speed for a couple seconds).

The database is broken, it says it drops 100% from a compact harvest reaper in Gadetstan

But they do drop it... compact harvesters are like "combat pets" for engineers. When they get killed they drop some of the components they were made with inc a gyro. Thats why it says 100% in gadgetzan... someone got their harverster killed there.

gyros are made by engineers tho, find an engineer friend or /2 wtb gyro or at AH, that simple

It's sold by several vendors in limited quantities (most of the engineering suppliers in major cities).&nbsp The drops that it is listed from are mechanicals made by engineers.&nbsp When a mechanical expires, it can usually be looted.

Wow lol. gyrochronatom is made by engineers, it takes one gold power cord and an iron bar.. and 1 gold bar makes 3 gold power cords.

I don't know about you guys but when I completed this quest I got like 2850XP and then doing the little follow-ons in the same spot picked up another&nbsp 4850XP&nbsp I'd say for the effort this was a quest worth doing.&nbsp I solo'd it with a lvl 42 druid.

since i'm generally a "do it on my own" kinda guy and dont have an engineer (yet) i did the shopping route.
Not a single one on the AH, so i ran to vendors.
Ironforge 5 times, Darkshore twice, and stormwind 3 times thisevening.
I even went to stv to and killed the shredder a few times (though i was going in that general vicinity for a different quest)
all that and still nothing.

Until on a last minute decision to check once more before i logged and the very last place i tried had it. Steelgrim's on the 2nd or 3rd check.

I guess persistance pays off. Just check every engineer supplier you find while u run around on other things and u'll EVENTUALLY come across it.

It's supposedly sold through 16 different vendors, but it must not spawn too often......

You don't get any silver/gold for any of these quests! Lame! But the guy standing right behind him, the one by the table with all the potions on it has a quest. You need a lesser invisability Potion and a healing potion. If your an alchemist(like me) these are easy. But if your not, you might want to check the AH. BUT, if you use the Dalvengry realm and are Alliance, pst Neganova, and I can make them for'ya. Also, I think once you finish the chain of quests where you have to find the rock slab things, I think you do something speacial, but I am not sure what. Hope I helped :)

Horde questers can find the gyro-watchamakalit in Ogrimmar at the Machine shop. Just ask a guard for the engineering trainer.

Apparently Rizz Loosebolt (the captured Gnome) located in Slaughter Hollow in Alterac (45,37) has this on sell. So while you are looking the goblin that sells you the Frost Oil recipe in the previous quest, you can try to pick this one up here in Alterac.

One of my alts is a an engineer. I was able to make it and a lot of others. Gyro's happened to be one of the very few items that sell steadily in the AH besides higher powered scopes. Best advice I can give is if you are not an engineer, then try to get someone in your guild who is to make you one. I believe one of the gnomes selling engineering supplies in the dwarven district may have one every so often. You either have the engineering supply gnome located in IF near the tram tunnel or the AH if no guild member will make you one.

Enter the Badlands thru Loch Moden. There is a pass thru the mountains at the south end of the Loch.
