Description

Hey, <name>. Be careful 'round here. There be Dark Iron dwarves all around--looked like the Shadowforge clan.

They just attacked the excavation site I was workin' at--killed nearly everyone there, including my boss Hammertoe. I barely escaped with me life.

The site's just to the north of here, and I'm tryin' to plan a way to get some of our supplies back, especially me lucky pick.

Think you'd be up to helpin' me out some? One of those damned Dark Iron must have my pick! Could be anyone of them.

Go after Shadowforge Darkweaver and Shadowforge Tunneler. An obvious place to hunt them is "Hammertoe's Digsite" (52, 33).

Don't forget to pick up "Crumpled Map" lying on the upper level of the camp (south side), which starts the quest "A Sign of Hope" (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=720).

Watch out for the patrols though (they come in threes).

Each mob gives roughly 152 exp at level 39.
I've gained 20k+ exp grinding these things.

His lucky pick can be dropped by any Shadowforge Dwarf in the Badlands. You can find them south of Uldaman.

it seems that a lot of people had the same issue that&nbsp I did...I killed for a while and read that I should abandon and reaccept...I did it and got it on the third kill...the area northish of the quest giver, non-elites...completed as lvl 38...good advice folks.

The pick drop off Shadowforge Tunnelers and Darkweavers at Hammertoe's Digsite, and from Shadowforge Warriors and Chanters at Angor Fortress. I would recommend the digsite, since those mobs are lower level and faster to kill. Just be careful, they run at low health, and since the mobs are quite close together it's easy to get larger pulls than you can handle. The Darkweavers' shadow bolts also hit quite hard.

Just to note, I know four people, including myself, who did this quest.&nbsp The pick dropped for all of us outside the pit itself, from the dark iron dwarf closest to the outhouse.

I've cleared the camp three times and still no drop. I'm level 43 so they go really fast, I can take one out in about 5 seconds if I do it right.

I get roughly 100 - 120exp per kill so it's not all that bad. Just got to keep doing it.

I got the pick on the third kill from one of the guys up top, also picked up the crumpled map lying on the ground.&nbsp You get an 1350xp for that and it&nbsp gives you an Ulda quest.

Got it from the sixth one I killed, under the canopy by the water barrel wagon on the south side of the excavation.&nbsp There's three hidden in there and one can come up from the excavation to attack.

Watch out for the three dwarves who patrol around together.&nbsp Got me.&nbsp 35 priest solo.

Ya if u find ureself killing 20 or more of em at Hammertoe's Digsite (Best place to do it) then abandon and reaccept it. It seems to work, I killed about 35 and then abandoned and got it on my 2nd kill.

Found him at 53, 43.

Killed three Darkreavers and four tunnelers before the drop came around.
