Description

Our air support is in shambles, <name>. The Wing Commanders were shot down over enemy territory. You must find out what became of them so that we can attempt a rescue!

Guse was last seen flying over the Icewing Bunker. Jeztor's War Rider was spotted near the Stormpike lumber mill. Mulverick... that reckless fool was seen crashing near the Dun'Baldar North Bunker.

That's all the information I have. Move out! Search through the areas thoroughly.

I've noticed some trouble finding Jeztor for a few recently, so allow me to explain his location!

If you were to check the Alterac Valley map, you will see two blue little house shapes south of the Alliance-side mine. That is the Lumber Mill. You will find that Jeztor is in a little boxy shack in the south-ish section of the mill.

Maverick, Goose, Jester, Iceman, etc. are from the Top Gun movie.

You don't need to actually "rescue" the Wing Commanders. You just need to go to the location where they are/would be and the quest will count it as completed.

Al these quests for AV are an amazing way to get through one of those 'tough' levels (51-55) I went from 53 to 54 just by playing 4 AV games :D

For those who don't know, each commander is named after a character in the movie top Gun ;)

The names of the Wing Commanders are "hints" at the old Wing Commander games by Origin... Their names are based on character's nicknames from those games - Goose, Jester and Maverick in this case. Maverick was the hero of the first three games - played by Mark Hamill in WC 3-5 :)

Guse is in the Icewing Tower. The beacon has to be placed in a crater in the Field of Strife on the east side near Horde end of the field.

Jezter is at 54,27 lying in the little structure.

Mulverick is in the North Bunker in the alliance base.

Once released, they will run back to the Horde base and stand right across from the General's building. Then you hand them flesh to activate them. They each require a different type of flesh.

The central crater holes around the Field of Strife are indeed where the beacons go. Just stand guard over the beacon for 60 seconds, as it takes time for it to activate. I planted one by myself, and was quickly killed by a rouge, who then killed the beacon. You can get a new beacon at base camp, but it will have a 30 minute cool down before you can use it. Make sure you ask for backup before planting the beacon. Get a hunter, and have them scan for rouges.

BTW, only the callsign "Maverick" appears in the original Origin Games Wing Commander series. The others in the game were Maniac, Flint, Grunt, Cobra and Hobbes. Hobbes was a Kirathi, and had defected over to the human side.

The callsigns used in WoW are indeed from the movie TopGun
