Description

<name>, my brother soon stands before Chief Bloodhoof, and it is my honor to make his headdress for him.

I want to ask a favor of you while I finish tanning these leather straps. There is not time for me to find enough feathers, and I was wondering, would you gather more for me?

You can find feathers of the correct size from the harpies residing far to the north and northwest of Thunder Bluff. I need only 6 azure and 6 bronze feathers to complete the design.

This quest can be rather tricky if you don't know where exactly to go. There are 3 different locations where harpies spawn. However, there's only one location of the three that will drop the feathers for this quest.&nbsp For those of you who do not use add ons, the harpies spawn behind Spirit Rise. For those of you who do use add ons, standing right outside the outskirts of the harpies spawn point is 32,19.
Hopefully this is helpful enough to all who have attempted this quest and became frustrated with trying to get the drops.

Matriarchs for the bronze feathers, Sorceress for the azure. Just go straight West/North of Thunder Bluff, you'll find some.

Thought i'd add one too cause only Crazytroll added one..So when you take the quest from the Tauren you take the right elivator down and go east of it keep going straight and you'll find the harpies kill 10 of each color there are white and blue the white ones give you azure the blue give you bronze, you'll get them all after you kill 10-15 of em well thats what i did when i was lvl 9 well Good Luck and happy Killing =P

Very easy quest... just did it

You go down the elevators into mulgore and you run around to the west... and both are right there. I had no problem getting either the azure or the bronze feathers. Only took maybe ten minutes. the coords are 31, 22

very easy

875 Exp at lvl 14
+100 rep with TB

When fighting the harpies, watch out that one of them could be a 11+ rare elite named Sister Hatelash.

I killed her easily with my lvl 14 Priest. Killing her left me with more than 80% of my hits and 60% of my mana.

I've only done this quest once, even though I frequently roll Tauren characters, and the reason for it is that the rewards are generally not worth the effort to collect the quest items. You'll have to kill forty to fifty harpies just to get all of the feathers in an area where no other quest activity is located.

If you want a nice leather chest piece, hunt the Rake (http://classicdb.ch/?npc=5807), he's not too hard to find northeast of Elder rise (same location as Arra'chea spawns as well) and consistently drops a 55 armor 1 int green chest. Mazzranache (http://classicdb.ch/?npc=3068) has a 50% drop rate for a 55 armor 1 agi chest, but is much more difficult to find.

Yeah, I have all the feathers, etc...

But where in the world do you turn in that quest?

When I looked it up here, it said "Unknown"...
Does this NPC even exist anymore?

Ok, when you leave Thunder Bluff on the south lift turn right and head north. They are down to the left as you walk north off of the lift.&nbsp You don't need to travel far. Cosmos cords. near
17,33. Or if you don't have it it's just to the left of Thunder Bluff name on the map.&nbsp Drop rate is alittle on the poor side but it took me only 10-15 mins as a lvl 12 warrior. Linen is really the only good drop item I got.

Good Luck

Ok take the right side lift of the south lifts. Then just head to the right (north) and you'll run into them in just a few seconds. The last cords was in the middle of the spot.

Expect this to take a little while. I don't use any coordinate tracking program, but all you need to do is head to the North West of Thunderbluff the harpies come up soon after you pass the two tents with Venture Company folks.

I actually wiped out the entire population of harpies as a level 10 shaman and still didn't get all the feathers. Lame drop rate.

Watch out for the Matriach, as they heal themself, so it make it hard for class with no healing ability (like warrior).

Tips for warrior:
I would suggest you Harmstring them at around 40% HP, because they try to run away at 10%, and the last thing you want is to get a caster pull :/ ! You can always try to War Stomp when they heal too, make it easier for you.

And btw, have some patience, the drop rate is HORRIBLE. Matriarch drop the Bronze Feather, and Sorceress drop the Azure Feathers...

I would like to point out that if one has finished all of the other mulgore quests this is a great quest to finish off the area with if you want to get as much XP as possible before the barrens. This is because you are essentaly grinding the harpies which give around 90 XP each at the level, of which you'll be killing lots, and then you get an additional 850 XP after you finish.

I found a good area for the Bronze Feathers were around 30, 20...I killed about 10 of the white harpies and got all 6 of them so they have a pretty good drop ratio...but its the complete opposite in the area for the Azure feathers, I killed about 20 of the blue harpies and only got 2 to show for it.

I found that the bronze feather dropped fairly quickly, 1 in 2 kills. The Azure dropped alot slower, maybe 1 in 9 or 10 kills. It takes a little while to get them all.

I've killed at least 20 harpies so far with absolutely no feather drops. I was near 20,43 and killed a bunch of those. Now I've moved to 37,10 and still no feathers at all.

Am I doing something wrong? I've tried different types of harpies but no feathers still.

EDIT:
Okay I finaly just got one Bronze Feather from a Windfury Matriarch.

I guess I'll just say the drop rate for me is really low.

The harpies you need to kill are between (39,7) and (35,14).
They are between the lvl 9 - 11.
Sister Hatelash an elite mob was at (36,11).
I had to kill 29 harpies to get all the feathers.

The Harpies can be found to the west side of the Spirit rise. To tell what color of feathers a harpy will drop, target them and look at the hair. Blue will drop azure feathers, brown will drop bronze ones.

im the only one to add a comment. ummmm well its a quest, you can't miss it if your a lvl 8 or higher...... take elavator up to TB and you'll see some tauren walkin round with a ! over his head. talk to him hes near the pond and he gives you this quest. Had the harness on my lvl 8 troll hunter but hes 53 now.... so that was a while ago. Although i did do this with a lvl 8 tauren warrior and only minutes after i got the shield i sold it and with the 1 silver i bid on a shield in the ah that was better armor and +1 stamina.
