Note:&nbsp The first post was misleading in this thread.

Go to Diremaul to turn this book in.&nbsp Once you enter DM you want to continue into the courtyard, where the arena is in the middle. The entrance is the North Entrance. When you enter the noth entrance you you will make a left and head Down the ramp into the yard with all the orges, and there will be a door to your left side that you will have to pick and a fire pit with three orges standing around. Be carefull because there are many dog patrols roaming around also. just creep around them when the dogs are clear and pick the lock. you will head down a empty hallway that seems to be very long. once you get to the friendly area you will see a guy on your left that stands at the book shelves. (talk to him,and turn the book in) he'll give you your reward. you shouldnt have any problems with this turn in. Its like taking candy from a baby. :-) gl!

Anyone who wants to solo this quest, can think again. The Library is in the North part of Dire Maul. You need a key to get into the instance, then the same key to get into the library. the place is guarded by 58-59 Elite Ogres, and 55+ Hounds, that can see through steath.
Wrong... Its quite easy. First of all make sure you got lvl 300 in lockpicking. Then, enter the north entrance. When youre in go stealth, and wait for the patrol to get away to the right. Then take a left turn, and go down the path down to the right. Now.. just walk down the corridor to the left and when youre at that door, youre safe.

When i hit 54 i shall be going solo to the library to return this book - given i've managed to find it on the AH before then.

As for LP skill, you need either 300 LP to open locked DM doors, or a powerful seaforium charge (requires 275 engineering to make and use).

https://classicdb.ch/item=37167

Follow the directions other posters have given as per avoiding the pats and you'll be fine. Take an invisibility pot if you want to be utterly sure.

Good luck all.

It gives the Royal Seal of Eldrethadras (or whatever) which is a trinket. BUT! when i turned it in, the guys said keep bringing books back, sometimes the rewards change. So, you might get something else.

EDIT: Turn it in at Dire Maul, the library which is accessed from the ogre section. Hillsbrad guy is just trying to screw with you.

This NPC ( Lorekeeper Kildrath ) is in dire maul in Library. You can go there from West and North entrances but you need to open a door which need a key.
P.S. Does anyone know how much lockpicking the door need?

It's great that many of you can buy it on the AH for around 10g.

On my server its around 100g so i would really want to know: Can rogues Solo this?

(Wouldnt want to waste time grouping for DM all the time, the book seems to have 0.6%drop Chance from King Gordok)

Well...I bought the book for 40g, tried to solo at lvl 57. No way mobs have dogs with steath detection.&nbsp Resold it for 75g month later(blackrock). I think i came out pretty good on the deal.

First up, dogs can see you. Wait until they are out of the immediate area.

Grab a pair of Nightscape Boots from just about any leatherworker, get a cloak enchanted with additional stealth and you shouldn't have too horrid of a time with it.&nbsp Those two items will serve you well in your rougish endeavours :)

Bought the book on AH for 14g BO.

Went to DM in Feralas, entered DM North and ran to the garden. Theres some dog patrols which see u even in stealth. Waited till they were gone, took a left found the door, opened it, and then nearly done.

Ran though a cooridor, and found the NE, who gave me the +10 FR and +2 hit trinket + 3,96g. Done quest, was piece of cake really!

Refer to the map someones put down there.&nbsp Oh and if you are using powerful seaforium to get through the doors, make sure to take two along with you as you gotta blow another door off of its hinges, i was lucky, for some reason i thought to meself "maybe ill make one more as im here in Ratchet" and now im over the moon i did, this will do nicely for extra Fire res for the rest of my Ony gear yup yup

By Anonymous on 05/23/2006 (Patch 1.10.2)
Come prepared with the book. I'm not going to go over how to get the book because I bought mine in the AH :)

Enter DM NORTH (don't let anyone tell you otherwise, it's north dammit).

Use common sense, stealth, avoid Dog patrols, use your Distract ability, and pass on that 4silver 41copper pick pocket. Hug walls whenever possible.

Follow my map at this link.

The blue X is where you'll have to use a key/lockpick/seaforium charge (engineer only). Once you've unlocked the door, you are home free. The hallway that you enter when you unlock the door is actually under the large square room labeled 3 on my map. So you will not see it on your minimap.

If you are looking to do this on Hellscream, just send Loonix a tell/mail message and I will be happy to accompany you.

Hope this helps!

Does that mean that as a level 58 (almost 59) rogue I can't solo this one without a key?&nbsp Cuz my lock picking skills is no where near close to maxed out, and even if I did max it, it'd only be 290/295.&nbsp

They could be in there, but I encountered no invisible mobs in the hallway after the second door. Should be a walk in the park for a rogue though, even if there do happen to be some there.

When you enter the instance, you can see a courtyard in front of you, and a lower level with grass. The ramp down to the lower part is right in front of you, so just stealth down the ramp, and look to the left where you will see the next ramp down to the library entrance.

The mobs you really need to look out for are the mastiffs. They have about a 50 foot stealth detection radius, and will aggro everything around you. The entire far side of the lower courtyard is filled with them, so don't go anywhere near them and watch out for the patrols.

After you find the way into the library safely, you can go back anytime you want!

I did this solo with no problems whatsoever. Make sure you're lvl 60 and have 300 LP (A must). Enter DM North. Stealth and *carefully* look for the patrol of one ogre and 2 hounds. Fall back near instance portal until they pass going to the right. Head to the left and you'll see a ramp headed down. From here you have 2 choices. 1 - Jump *onto* the left "guardrail" of the ramp, then follow the edge around to the library door. 2 - Wait for the hound packs to be as FAR as possible from the ramp, and then sneak to the door. Open the door, go thru the corridor and enjoy your trinket. Easy.

Just turned my book in solo as a 60 Rogue.

The only thing to really worry about is the
invisible mobs in the corridor past the
second door. They can be dealt with by
Sprint- then when you've got some distance
vanish. Simple vanish won't work.

Anyway- Rogue's can do it np. Other class
will need the Crescent key- and if they have
that already. They probably are running DM
regularly and can just go in with their
group.
