An Ambassador of Evil

Kill Ambassador Infernus in Angor Fortress and bring proof of his death to Advisor Belgrum in Ironforge.
Ambassador Infernus' Bracer

Description

Ambassador Infernus was sent to Angor Fortress by Ragnaros himself to mind the Shadowforge seeking lost artifacts in Uldaman.

It has already meant tremendous casualties for our people, but it has obviously grown worse. I hesitate to guess how many artifacts they would be able to find and use against Ironforge.

Our goal is simple, <class>. Return to the Badlands and destroy Ambassador Infernus. Once the threat is eliminated, return to Advisor Belgrum with proof of your victory.

It is in your hands now.

Entrance to the fortress is around 46,35. Mobs in and around the fortress are non elite 38's and 39's. Infernus was a 42 elite. Head into the fortress and stick to the right. Go down the stairs and he's at the bottom. Be careful not to pull too much aggro as there is little room to work with.

The Ambassador is in the Basement.
He has two 39 level goons and he hits hard.

He's inside angorforge fortress, downstairs and near the back in a small room.

He has 2 Adds and is a 42 Elite. Solo'd as a 44 Shaman, chain lightning and beat the hell out of the boss with a stoneclaw down. Goodluck.

Finished this with 49 Hunter and 48 bear. Died once, because I'm dumb. Watch out for the Stone Golem bodyguards. With a bit more finesse, i could have taken them all easily. Concentrate on making the Ambassador DEAD so you get the loot. If you suicide run, at least you'll complete the mission.

This guy is still a pain if you happen to be a fire mage. Immune to all your big spells and puts a debuff on you that keeps you from casting. Bring a melee/ranged dps friend along and he'll be a pushover.

At the end of the Fortress is Infernus' room. There is a Stone Golem standing near him, but it can and should be pulled alone.

While certainly soloable, don't take this guy lightly. He still has ~4k HP, and probably can't be taken by most classes without some kind of healing. He has a Fire Shield that can make quick work of dual wielding classes, and he applies a DoT with the spell he casts, so be sure to interrupt it if you plan to CC+Bandage.

Managed this quest solo as a 46 warrior. The golem in front is pullable. If you shoot the golem on the left of infernus, the golem on the right doesn't get pulled so you're only fighting infernus and one golem. I died once because I idiotically turned on retaliation as I was fighting off the golem... got Infernus down to 30% health and wiped. No reason why you can't do this solo at 45 or 46 if you just use common sense.

And for what it's worth:

"Ambassador Infernus hits you for 166."

Level 42 Fire Elemental at bottom floor of Angor Fortress.
I'm dissapointed that this quest isn't marked as a Group quest.
As stated above, bring heals, or he can't be beaten.
I had a bit of trouble fighting him on my 44 Holy Paladin, although that is probably because one of the mobs ran down and aggroed the Golem AND Infernus.

He now has 3 golem guards. Don't try alone if you are a mage, I got my ass kicked pretty hard :)

But getting to him is not much of a problem, except some of the dwarfes were bugged for some reason.

What really helps is to use a fire resistance potion, that makes the quest much easier and is really recommended.

Easy pickings, solo'd as a 46 NE Rogue- I took out the stone golems first, then vanished so I could move away to regen health and energy. Went back in and killed him without using a potion. No drop as I didn't have the quest.

BTW, Rogues are there to level up lock-picking as the fortress has quite a few practice boxes laying around.

This quest is pure hell. Not only is the respawn rate on the mobs in the fortress impossible to the point of insanity, but it seems I am the only person on my server who actually has the quest, since I have been unable to find ANYONE ELSE who has it. Tried soloing it multiple times but that dam silence the mob has makes it impossible.

He's fairly easy to find. Enter via the front, take the left archway, follow it back and go down stairs. Follow that passage until you get to another set of stairs, follow those down. He's in the room at the bottom.

He's in the middle of the room with about three bodyguards. Enjoy.

This is an easy quest for a Warlock to solo at 45. Use a voidwalker as you'll quite often get multiple mobs for it to tank make sure you let it recover if it gets a beating. You should find you can get to the relevant room without even coming close to dieing as long as you use Curse of Recklessness for crowd control.

Once you're in there, make sure you clear out the whole of upstairs before you head towards the elementals - the last thing you want is a Shadowforge Caster healing them or, worse, shielding them or, worse still, putting you to sleep! Once you've done that, you can attack the nearest elemental without aggroing the others (or, at least, I could at 45) and he goes down quick as he's only a 38. Next up, stand on the right-hand staircase, and attack the right-hand stone elemental with your voidwalker. Somehow the left one doesn't get aggroed. When he's nearly there, use Banish on Ambassador Infernus and polish off the stone elemental. Set your voidwalker on the other elemental and just wait until Banish runs out on the ambassador - and then banish him again. Then kill the other stone elemental.

Now the tricky bit. All your fire spells aren't much use here, so use shadow spells, health funnel and banish to keep your voidwalker alive whilst you kill the ambassador... very... slowly. He'll go down eventually, although you might well have to use a healthstone, a potion and a bandage to make sure your own life tap spell doesn't kill you.

Once you've beaten him and got the loot, if you don't fancy the fight, sacrifice your voidwalker and run - if you jump left after you get out of the front door you can lose your train of shadowforges.

fight down, clear upper shelf of dwarves.

1st golum can be pulled solo. then watch firelord for a bit. every couple minutes he disappears for maybe 30 secs. pull the remaining golums during this time and no adds to take when he respawns.

fire ward, frostbolt x3, cc, nova, blink, frostbolt, cake

Just soloed as a lvl 44 feral druid. Stealthed in behind him, ravage, switched to dire bear and just wear him down. Shift out for heals and whatnot. Got the third bodyguard about part way through the fight, but they didn't do too much damage to cause much harm when in dire bear form.

This quest was still green at 50, so we (2) did it anyway. Needless to say we were able to finish the quest and eat dinner at the same time - HOWEVER - I saw a constant flow of rogues stealthing in an cleaning up the place.

This is based upon observation - I think this quest would be doable in the 40s (but hard to say since we were already 50)....If you have problems doing the quest at a lower level, simply wait for them to kill Ambassador Infernus, then go in. Make your way to the basement and take out the golems one by one as they respawn. Infernus will spawn alone and you can concentrate on him.

Hope it helps

Help! I still can't find him after searching for 1 week! T_T

Anyway I read descriptions that he will be in the basement of Angor Fortress. But where exactly is the basement? Is it the place with a fireplace and the head of a deer hung on the top? Thanks.

This guy is found by going to the back and down the stairs, he is a Fire elemental, I did this as lvl 47 Ret pally, had a 45 rogue who showed me the way to him, we took him down in no time, would have been easy to solo at lvl 47.
