Description

Greetings, <class>. I am Hastat, Ancient of Lore. I hold knowledge lost eons ago.

With the proper binding, one of my leaves can serve as a quiver the likes of which has not been seen in 10,000 years. A quiver that when accompanied by a bow of Ancients, could grant untold powers.

Return here with sinew from an adult blue dragon and this quiver shall be yours.

I just finished this quest today. It was quite a pain to figure out how to get this quest. Here's what you need to do:

1.) Go to Molten Core and get the Ancient Petrified Leaf from Cache of the Firelord.
2.) Right click the leaf to start The Ancient Leaf quest.
3.) Turn the quest in at Vartrus the Ancient in Felwood.
4.) Now speak with Hastat the Ancient (he's right next to Vartrus the Ancient) and get the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina quest.
5.) Go to Azshara and kill Azuregos.
6.) Loot Mature Blue Dragon Sinew from Azuregos.
7.) Return to Hastat the Ancient with the Mature Blue Dragon Sinew to finish the quest. Upon completion you will recieve the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina quiver.

Notes: Obviously the hardest parts of this quest line are getting the Ancient Petrified Leaf and killing Azuregos.

The Mature Blue Dragon Sinew used to make this quiver drops from Azuregos (https://classicdb.ch/?npc=6109), The Cobalt Scalebanes in Mazthoril, Winterspring (https://classicdb.ch/?item=18704) or a friendly guildmate. If your guild can easily take down Azuregos, I suggest not farming endless hours in Mazthoril. If you have extra gold floating around, these seem to go anywhere from 80g to 800g.

As I have said in another comment, quivers are not to be underestimated. This is the best quiver in-game by now
(pre-expansion). Apart from giving you 15% ranged attack speed (yeah only ranged, why are you meleeing???) it also provides you with 18 slots to put in 3600 arrows of your choice. Now 3600 arrows may seem too much, but if you are venturing to a new instance with your guild, meaning a lot of wipes you will need the arrows cause you can't be back and forth to the nearest town to buy arrows,

For all those that don't know the Mature Blue Dragon Sinew can drop of the Blue Dragonkin in Winterspring, it's a low drop but it can drop there. Also Azuregos is killed far more frequently than Modomo is so there is a surplus of Sinew's around. I got my one cheap but still haven't gotten to MC yet.
To anyone that's selling sinew's. Go hard and make your cash. Any hunter that wants one for their quest should really start the quest in MC first and then get their guild to help kill Azuregos for the sinew themselves. Soo much easyer and cheaper.

For all those saying this is a priest / paladin / whatever class item. If you get one then you are a legend and deserve it. It'll take up one space in your inventory and it vendors for crap, if you can even get the quest to start it.

A blue quiver that holds the same number of arrows and has the same speed increase is obtained from getting honoured with Kurenai for alliance players. Don't know if there's a horde equivalent and can't remember how much it costs but it is called Worg Hide quiver.

I grinded 2 hours last night , didnt get it, started today again and got it after some hours, all you need to find it in winterspring is patience.

once you get the quest for the bow/staff, you have all the quests open to you. you can go back anytime and hand in the quiver quest

there is no point to do this quest cause of TBC and new lvl cap, Blizz will soon come out with the hunter epic quest and the other lvl 70 epic classes quest will come out the same time, unless u r gonna use a bow(i like guns) then u shouldnt waste ur time on MC then grinding for awhile in winter Spring for the blue dragon sinew

if i dont need the petrified leaf, then why should i even bother getting Rhok'delar and Lok'delar? to get the bow and the staff, i need the leaf.. and since there is three ancients in Felwood that gives u quests when u got the leaf then i seriously think u need the leaf to get the quiver.... or am i completely wrong?

Then your lucky enough to be in a guiild that does azuregos now and then...
Or you are a leatherworker who likes grinding dragons in winterspring (for scales)...
Or you could buy the sinew on the AH for a good price...

of your not one of the above... go do AV now and then... when your revered you can buy (for about 25g) (Item #19319) quiver, only holds 400 less arrows...

I know it ways quiver but do you get an option for an ammo pouch or does this hold both arrows and bullets? I sure hope it holds both seeing as how quite a few hunters switch between guns and bows quite often.

Yeah it may only be 2 more slots than the one you can get from av but if you are gonna put in the time to do the bow/staff quests why would you not want to complete the set by getting the quiver

just get the quiver from AV rep and u can get the ammo pouch if u have a gun 15% speed but only 16 slot not 18 omfg big deal
