With the introduction of Burning Crusade this quest is available to weaponsmiths also

Hi!
Pretty strange that no one describes where to find the top and bottom halves of the first volume!

Please give me some facts instead of how it looks.

Where do I find the top and bottom halves of the first volume?

I'm am very confused..&nbsp Can anyone explain, exactly, how to begin this quest.&nbsp Something about a spell that combines the top and bottom halves of Advanced Armorsmithing..But, how does one do this?&nbsp Thanks, in advance for any explaination about this.

This is my recommendation for the 3 Enchanted Thorium Platemail parts:

- (Self-made) Enchanted Thorium Platemail (Chest, Legs, Helm) very expensive in terms of Arcanite 24 bars for all pieces, but doable
- (epic) Stockade Pauldrons (if you can afford this 300 gold item, Increased Defense +15) or Heroic Pauldrons (same design as Stockade Pauldrons, but blue-grey color)
- Stonegrip Gauntlets (same design as Heroic Gauntlets, but slightly more grey, Increased Defense +15) or Heroic Gauntlets (blue-grey)
- Deathbone Girdle (for the cool looking skull and better stats, grey color) or Heroic Girdle (blue-grey)
- Heroic Greaves (grey with excellent texture)
- Praetorian Cloak (red-golden color) or Mercurial Cloak (red color)
- Medallion of Grand Marshal Morris (Amulet, Increased Defense +15)
- Draconian Deflector (Shield, Increased Defense +15)

Total Increased Defense using these parts:

- Enchanted Thorium Platemail: +38
- Stockade Pauldrons: +15
- Stonegrip Gauntlets: +15
- Medallion of Grand Marshal Morris: +15
- Draconian Deflector: +15

= +98 Increased Defense total

Lots of people seem confused as to where to get these from. I've only seen in AH so that is where I got one part for each. Got second part of volume 1 yesterday using trade channel. Just click on one half when you have both and it creates volume for you. Click again to get Q.

is this one only for armorsmithing or can a swordsmith use this one to?

Sounds like Dire Maul. The Athenaeum which is located inside the Ogre instance of Dire Maul. Much like the class specific trinket books you can find in there.
