Ghost Howl wandered through as I was killing harpies just north of Thunder Bluff. He dropped a "Demon Scarred Cloak" soulbound item that, when clicked, starts this quest.

Head back to Skorn Whitecloud in Bloodhoof. The end text for this quest is:

This is another one of those quest items that don't get erased or dropped after that quest is complete... anyone that's wondering about it, just toss it.

Skorn Whitecloud is standing outside the inn in Bloodhoof Village at loc 46,60.

The mob that drops this item spawn in and around the area of 49,19.&nbsp It is a rear spawn, and looks like a larger white wolf.&nbsp I believe it also alternates spawns with "The Rake".. a rare spawn cat I have killed several times in that area.

he'sin the general area of 49, 19 typically.&nbsp He wanders around and no, the rake has nothing to do with him, they do not alternate.&nbsp i know this bc on my last wrath attack on the rake here comes old ghostie... he's larger than alphas and recognizable by the size and color.&nbsp while alphas are gray, ghost howl has a blueish sheen to him...

I found Skorn Whitecloud 46,60... And he stands there always xD...

I did stand by the road and wait for My party members and he did attck Me not far from TB and after delivering the quest you will still have the quest thing just drop it if you have a better item and he has 5 min spawn

Ghost howl is not confined to that area.&nbsp Yesterday as I stopped to murder Mazzaranche at that dirt road he's always spotted at Ghost Howl was right across the road so I went over and killed him again.&nbsp Bear in mind he is a RARE SPAWN QUEST GIVER!&nbsp Meaning don't bother a second time unless it's for exp bc he drops NOTHING THE SECOND TIME!

ok the ghost wolf is not on a 8 hour spawn for who ever said that up a ways

im a lvl 40 hunter and my hunter freind got to lvl 12 and wanted it for a pet

so i head down to mulgore and i find it right off the batand chase it on my mount for a while so i dont lose it while my lvl 12 friend gets here from bloodhoove village&nbsp &nbsp ghost wolf spawed right to the left or back entrance to TB as someone said up top&nbsp &nbsp i chased it in a circle CLOCKWISE around TB and we got right in ling with red rocks to the west and a lvl 15 shammy comes out of nowhere and kills it right as my lvl 12 friend gets to me to tame it&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp there was nothing i could to to stop him from killing it

and so he killed it and ran up towards TB

and i was very mad because i though i had to wait 8rs for spwnd as someone said up top but i didnt

i ran up towards the spot where he spawns to the west bout 50 yards of rear TB enreance in some hills and there he was again

and my fraind tryed to tame it and as it turns out it aint tamable&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp it and that proves it aint on any more than a 1 minute spawn time though

if u r looking to get him for the quest to find him go to TB and go down the rear entrence and go to the left and there are some hills and he spawns right in those few trees

I was waiting around 49,17 for Arra'chea, he spawned and killed em.&nbsp I check this site for Ghost Howl.&nbsp Soon as I go back on WoW, there he is, right next to Arra'chea's corpse :)

all you have to do is find the wolf near tb, kill him, take the quest and turn it in in bloodhoof...............easy stuff, the armer is crap bt weapons recieved are good

You can wear the cloak and then the quest NPC does not take it.

38,15 Named Ghost Howl.. Easily Spotted he's bright blue and larger than normal wolves. He may roam around TB, This is just where I found him.

ok i killed ghost howl by accident waiting for the kondo but where do i turn it in ... I've been all over thunder bluff

I found him at 52'15, so he's either got a large patrol route or different spawn points, after 2 min of writing this 'The Rake' spawned in his place a 10 rare lion instead of Ghost Howl.

Complete this quest at Skorn Whitecloud in Bloodhoof Village - 46'59

Ghost Howl actually patrols clockwise around Thunder Bluff.
He is a rare spawn.
Nice drops too.

Also gives you a choice between a hammer and a gun...

Pretty easy quest, too

The cloak is wearable. Once you find a better one you have to toss it though.

When you leave ThunderBluff trough the "back" entrance, you should go the left way down ( from the elevator) there you find some trees, one of them lies on the ground and there are also some stomnes. Wait there and Gost Howl should come along. But you should know he is a 8 Hours Spawn, so if someone killed him you have to wait up to 8 hours there till he respawn again.

Found him on the road leading to TB, then about 1-2 hours later ran into him on the backside of TB. Looks like he wanders around TB.

I've been carrying this thing around forever thinking it still had some other quest on it. It keeps saying that you don't meet the reqs for the queest when you do the first quest adn makes you think there is another one. Well now I know there is not, thank you.

i was so lucky i see this hammer on my friend and she says she got of ghost howl so i look up it and it was there then i readin bout quest and next thing i no wen i go bak on WoW theres ghosthowl and i killed in 1 hit *im lvl 19* and bam i got gun!

As tauren, you've probably talked to Skorn already. "Skorn, tell me a story." and he relates a story about a big wolf.

I'm a hunter.. I first saw ghost howl right at lvl 10. Tried to train it, but died from the harpies/cougars/wolves trying to reach him the first 3 times. The fourth time i tried, it says he isn't trainable. So, I wandered around, got another pet durotiger (1.3attack speed, lvl8.. nice pets!). Saw him again by chance but it was northeast of spirit rise in thunderhoof, killed him easily at lvl 10.

When I killed him he dropped demon scarred cloak, stringy wolf meat, and a white 8-slot leather bag that sold for just shy of 9silver.

Went to bloodhoof, talked to skorn whitecloud.

Got 900xp, took the gun instead of mace, and still kept the cloak. It says 'you do not meet the requirements for this quest' because right clicking on it opens quest.. you have to drag and drop to equip it.

I just got this as a lvl 14? in the Barrens.
The Cloak Quest is a lvl 12.
I'm at 15 now and got 900XP.
I'm still a Stud though. :)

I've been trying to find Ghost Howl for several weeks, and used to see him all the time. Does anyone know if he still spawns, or if this quest is no longer active?

Update, after playing other toons and trying every once in a while with my alt druid, I finally ran into GH by accident, while doing something else entirely, but he IS still here.

Anyone know where this quest starts?

thats really easy: You have to rightclick on the coat to start the quest, and for equiping you should press "c" and then click on the coat, hold mousebutton down, and move over your the coat-place...thats it...I'm wearing it now, and everybody asks me where to find it, it looks very nice, when you zoom anear to see the details o)

To get the quest item, ask Skorn Whitecloud in Bloodhoof Village to tell you a story, which will spawn Ghost Howl in one of four locations, see (NPC #3056) run through those locations spamming a /target Ghost macro till you come across him.

Ghost Howl is found in four different places as seen below.
(NPC #3056) have met and killed him on the north side of Thunder Bluff, somewhere around 49,17 and this second time 35,17.

Got the quest on the first time I killed Howl, he gave me 'The Demon Scarred Cloak' which started the quest. After that I only had to go to Bloodhoof Village to Scorn Whitecloud just outside the Inn.

Apparently one can go to him and ask him to tell you a story to get this quest too..?

I waited on a hill at 49,17, I got Ghost Wolf, Arra'Chea and The Rake here. You may have to wait, but it is better then wandering around looking, also you can clear mobs around it so you get no adds when taking him down.

have to say, I tried equipping the cloak and it still says "does not meet requirements". How can I do this quest? The longer I go, the more curious I get.

I went and talked to him and all he did was say "You killed Ghost Howl. You're a stud. lol
Right clicking on it, either equipped or not equipped gave this message, "You don't meet the requirements for that quest."

Any ideas?

...one more side note to the quest.. that I found kinda funny.
After you finish the quest, every time you talk to the NPC, instead of his long winded entry speech, he just says, and I quote, "You killed Ghost Howl. You're a stud." ....very rarely do I get called a stud by NPCs, and that was a refreshing change. ^^
