Stinglasher

Defeat Stinglasher in the Writhing Deep, bringing its glands back to Hadoken Swiftstrider at Camp Mojache, Feralas.

Description

In surveying the Writhing Deep, one of our scouts reported seeing a giant insect - much larger than the other insects spotted - wandering about the twisted terrain. Not only is it larger, it also seems to secrete some sort of aura that the other insects don't. We've given it a name - Stinglasher.

The innards of this beast would be invaluable to study as we figure out the best way to deal with this new threat. Cut out its secretion glands and bring it back to me immediately!

he patrols between the big vagina-looking cave and the spiral cave. he has a big cloud of gas around him, and he has about 3000 health whereas the normal wasps have about 2000 - 2500 health. he hits harder than the rest and has a really annoying sting. then again i did this as a lvl 46 rogue and any poison sucks when you try and stealth Q_Q

I found him by the west-entrance to the tunnels, but it seems he patrols up from that area and towards something to the east, probably the east-entrance to the tunnels (I pulled him before I saw where he went, though). I don't think he enters any caves. Killed him as a lvl 43 hunter with no problems. He seems to have a poisonous aura-thingy, but I kited him around the place so I didn't notice it doing anything.

If he's not at the spiral place, look to the east, there's another hive there. Stinglasher flies between these two lairs.

I too was having issues obtaining this quest from Hadoken Swiftrider. I had completed the Zukk'ash Infestation quest in the series and all of the Woodpaw quests including the battle plans but still no Stinglasher quest was offered.&nbsp I even opened a trouble ticket with WoW GM.&nbsp I was told that everything was working fine on their end and that while he could offer no in-game clues, perhaps I had mised a quest afterall.&nbsp So, even though it made no sense, going on earlier post, I completed Deadmire quest in Dustwallow (obtained from Hunter Rise in TB), and voila, I was then able to get the Stinglasher quest.&nbsp Hope this helps.

After completing all the Woodpaw quests, I was able to get Zukk'ash Infestation, but not this quest.

I flew to Dustwallow Marsh, turned in Tabetha's Task (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=2861), came right back, and the Stinglasher quest was now available. Strange, but whatever.

alright, so i was experiencing the same problem.&nbsp

did the knoll quests, nothing.

did the dreadmire quest in dustwallow, nothing.

did most the feralas quests, nothing.

but, when i obtained 'tabetha's task' and went to speak with her, which she then gave me the second part (in ZF), and returned to majoche, it was available to me!

Found him after 5 minutes killing mobs in the meanwhile for the carapaces at 75,60. I suggest u bring some good potions with, i personally had to use it as shaman. The poison aura does no damage at all, i think it's just for the looks or something, but he uses a venom sting often wich is an instant spell and does around 150 damage and poisons you for 40 seconds and damages u every 5 seconds for 11-12 damage. Even if u have the poison on you, he will continue to cast venom sting on you.

The Woodpaw quest chain is the pre-requisite for this quest and Zukk'ash Infestation. Note that the Stinglasher quest can NOT be accepted if you have Tabetha's Task in your quest log (either deliver the quest first or abandon it).

I found him in between the east and west tunnel entrances. i cleared both sets of tunnels and was unable to find him. when i came out of the east tunnel he was headed from the west. It is possible he comes out of the west tunnel. the two tunnel systems do not connect so he could not do a loop underground.

So Im looking for stinglasher and can't find him, i minimize and come to thottbot looking for stinglasher, go back into the game and guess who's attacking me?&nbsp Stinglashe =D.

He found me at the top of the entrance to the hole in the ground.

You can find a Stinglasher at 78,62 or 74,64. They portal so you may have to wait for them. only level 47 so it was eeasy for my 44 mage.

For some twisted reason, this quest and Tabetha's Task are mutually exclusive. It doesn't matter if you turn in the Tabetha's or abandon it, you just can't have that one if you want to pick up this one. Weird, but whatever.

i went into the cave at 76,60.&nbsp went inside to kill the bugs.&nbsp when i start heading out stingslasher was right at the entrance.&nbsp i guess i was lucky.&nbsp level 45 orc warrior fury spec.&nbsp &nbsp took him easily

I was in the tunnel farming carapace, i was fighting
a worker, then got aggro by a bee.
I killed it as easy as other bee, but since it was an add i used Bestial Wrath, and then when i loot it, i saw it was the boss.
Frankly i didn't see the poison aura.
Hunter 45 at the moment.

found him near the cave entrance at 75, 60. was quite easy for a 52 Warrior. His aura poisons you, he also "lashes" so be prepared to spend some time on your back

Soloed with a 44 Hunter, pretty easy. I'm a BM hunter, I just popped all my CD's and he was down within seconds. Migrates between the caves at 75,60, just south of the gnoll camps

I was inside the cave looking for him, then on my way out to check this site to see where he was, I found him at the mouth of the cave. As a lvl 45 priest, I had no problem with him. Didn't notice any poison aura, and did not have to come out of Shadowform to heal.

On a side note, does anyone else hate fighting buglike creatures. It make sme feel all itchy.

I did the feralas quests on same order as my pal did.

After finishing Battle Plans quest, my friend could get the Stinglasher quest, but i couldnt. Went to TB as someone suggested, picked up Deadmire quest from hunter rise and went to complete it (my friend hadn't done it either, still he got the Stinglasher quest)
I got his tooth, and BEFORE handing it in to TB i went to Feralas and picked up Stinglasher quest without any trouble.

This quest is seriously bugged.

Combine both of these to save some time. Previous post co'ords are good - just behind the Gnolls. Good spacing - easy pulls. Should take 10-15mins max. For my lev 47 Hunter I got 3900xp for Zukk'ash Infestation and 4200xp for Stinglasher. Drops are junk so don't get your hopes up. Good luck!

Went inside, saw it - ran out and let my pet do the aggro and shooted it as dead from distance. Easy. Found from coordinates given before.

Did this solo as a 43 priest (1635hp/3268mp). I stayed out of shadow form so I could heal. It was close with the resists, but managed to do it.
