A Donation of Silk

As with most other fabrics, our stocks of silk are at an all-time low. Our stores are such that we'd only need sixty pieces of silk from you total; we should be able to reach our goal with the support of others.

A benevolent gift such as silk, might I add, would certainly increase your local standing in the community! If you have the sixty pieces of silk cloth on you and are ready to donate them, I'm able to take them from you now.

Talk to Clavicus Knavingham upstairs in Duncan's Textiles in the Mage Quarter (45, 74). He has 3 quests:
A Donation of Wool (650 Exp.)
A Donation of Silk (1650 Exp.)
A Donation of Mageweave (3300 Exp.)

He is located in the mage quarters in the Tailoring shop. Just head up the stairs and you will find him.

As to being a waste of silk. Yes and No. My 37 Priest is up to 250+ in tailoring and I am about 3/5 the way to Revered for faction. I have done about every quest I can think of to raise SW faction so I can get the 10 gp discount for my steed so this helps out.

Granted this is my third toon (58 warrior, 43 warlock too) so they help by sending all the cloth to my priest. If I really figured out how much I lost by giving him silk, etc I would realize that I lost over 10gp of items, hehe. I just want to get my faction up though.

At lvl 36, my NE priest got 1950 exp for this quest in Stormwind ( Clavicus Knavingham ).

The reputation bar did move, but not sure by how much.

The Stormwind guy is upstairs in Duncan's Textiles (mages quarter). At level 42 this resulted in a "very slight" rep. increase (and 250xp)

Clavicus Knavingham, the Alliance Cloth Quartermaster, located in Duncan's Textiles in the Mages Quarter is Cosmo location X:44 Y:73

I received 650 XP, and my Stormwind reputation increased by 150 at level 44 for 60 wool
I received 1650 XP, and my Stormwind reputation increased by 150 at level 44 for 60 silk
I received 3300 XP, and my Stormwind reputation increased by 150 at level 46 for 60 Mageweave

This ISN'T a repeatable quest. The silver ! is the standard mark for a quest that are almost at the right level to do. (A Donation of Mageweave)

I forgot where Clavicus was so I spent a while looking for him (it's been awhile since I did "A Donation of Wool"). Once I found him and turned in my 60 Silk Cloth I got:

1650 xp and 385 rep with Stormwind at lvl 36 (Human Paladin).

omg i gave him one donation and he has refused to take any more from me since. I packed my bags with 60 of everything and he won't take any of it!

but... he's got a silver ! over his head?

I've spent hours on this already, can someone please help?

At lvl 45 I only got 250 xp and 15 reputation points.... total waste of my about 2g worth of silk.

Maybe if i did this at a lower lvl, but total waste the way i did it.

draenei mage i was revered at around lvl 26 with stormwind, started there quests as lvl 5, but now having trouble gainin the last 5000 rep points in revered im lvl 39 now and really thought id have it done by now.
been lookin forward to riding a horse as this char cos the damn elephants look like ^&*! just found out now that theres a quest in swamp of sorrows repeatable too, that each time u can gain 25 point rep with sw, so might jus do the quest 200 times to b happy.. hopefully soon ^^

If you've managed to collect a lot of silk and are close to level 30, this "quest" results in a nice chunk of experience. At level 35 I got 2500 exp.

i've been told that these quests [for silk, wool, and runecloth donations] are repeatable, yet for some reason when i approach any of the npcs who give out these quests, it's not allowing me to do it again after i've completed the quest. help!!

Does anyone know how much reputation this gets you? As reputation seems the only reason to do this quest and it doesn't seem to be listed above.
