intrestingly i was raiding IF the other day on my horde and the person had the quest so i grabbed it
also iv done it on horde side on the before

seems like even though you obtain the quest before the faire opens, you must wait for them to set it up to hand it in.

The Darkmoon Faire's usual schedule has it arriving on site on the first Friday of the month. For the weekend, the carnies will be seen setting up the midway, and the Faire will actually start early on the following Monday.

The npc that gives out the ticket voucher for the Horde side is in Orgrimmar by the bank.

Been waiting for 2 days for faire to open, Level 70 friend of mine says it takes about 3-4 days to open after you obtain the quest, so just be patient.

The faire is just south of Goldshire.

If you go to Goldshire at 41,68, you will see a bunch of purple caravans and some folks working on building the carnival site.

They keep saying that it'll open soon and to come back later. I guess we need to keep our tickets!

They are around 37,37 at Mulgore.

And where they appear on Zerg's noob area?

I have a mod called 'Quest Level' or something, but the main purpose is to display the level you have to be to do the quest easily or something like that. Well, I got this quest in the city to the north in Durotar and it says it's level 60. :S

(1) You get almost no xp
(2) You get five tickits which can be handed in for low lvl items EXAMPLE: Darkmoon Flower,or Prize box(contains one green item)
(3) Darkmoon callers are located in IronForge and Orgimar
(4) Carnival sites are located in Goldshire and Mulgore

BTW Rumors of a permenant site are begining to rise (May contain rides and other new interactive objects such as a working zoo!)

It's here again! Concerning the questions about the quest being red, the thing is that the level suggestion is 60 so that everyone could see the exclamation mark on the quest-givers head. Otherwise some people could miss it out.

If you want the quest, go to Ironforge, he patrols the area in front of the bank and AH. Just wait until you see a dwarf with a exclamation mark!

Why is it that the quest tells you to "Go Today!" when when I get there Gelvas Grimgate is no where to be found until the carnival opens?

Where is he? I was going to Elwynn and it was just Human, Orcs and Undeads (Forsakens) working there and not Galvas Grimgate, Where is he then?

this is hella cool i went to fair the cords are 37,37 its open on monday's and friday's takes 3 days to set up i think....so yeah go check it out i got 15000 xp for doing it with my lvl 30 hunter...its cool check it out

I've done this once and got 5 tickets but I'd really like to get 50 so I can get a Darkmoon Storage Box (14 slot container) - sweeeeeeet!

I'm too high level to qualify for the quests that originate at the faire though.

I suspect the IF quest is just a teaser to get newbie dwarfs and gnomes down to Elwynn to check it out though...

The Darkmoon Faire alternates between Goldshire in Elwynn Forest and a horde area. If the carnies say it is coming soon, then it will be where they are within a few days.

They are currently setting up the fair in Elwynn Forest (41, 69) on december 2nd 2006, that means it will be here on monday morning!

I also did it with lvl 37 rogue. It says lvl 60, but is for lower lvls

There's no 8 Free Ticket Voucher for reward, there's only 5 Darkmoon Faire Prize Ticket.
And this quest is not for only 60 lvl, i've done it yesterday with my 36 lvl rogue.

Finding the fair was no problem. Finding the guy Gelvas Grimgate was :-/ He's supposed to be in the fair but i can't find him. The carnies just say that the fair will open soon and to come back later

I have run around south of Goldshire for two days looking for Darkmoon Faire! Can someone tell me exactly where it is located? Is it further south than Maclure Vineyard? Is it around the mountains? Is it hidden? I am so frustrated!

(Mulgore) The Horde will see the Faire on January 9th - January 16th, 2006.

(Elywnn Forest) Alliance will see the Faire on February 6th - February 13th, 2006.

(Mulgore) The Horde will see the Faire on March 13th - March 20th, 2006.

(Elywnn Forest) Alliance will see the Faire on April 10th - April 17th, 2006.

OMG does this mean that we wont have a faire untill January? thats 2,5 months no faire o_0

The Faire is South of Goldshire, you CANT miss it. Gelvis Grimgate is in the Faire as well. He is by a purple tent. Look for the big Ogre in front of the tent.

Also the quest says "redeem for 10 tickets" but it only gives you 5.

The trick for me was to get there from Dun Morogh. I could not just take the Deeprun Tram from Ironforge, because if I did the gate to get out of Stormwind was locked.
Instead I had to teleport from the mystic area in Ironforge. Then i came to the Moonglade. From there i could go to Stormwind via The Great Moonlight. This way the gate was open and I could easily go down and meet Gelvas Grimgate.

i was getting sick of having to go backwards and forwards through this site to get the info i needed so i compiled it all together.
