Your Fortune Awaits You...

Travel to the Wailing Caverns in the Barrens and seek out your fortune.
Sayge's Fortune #25
Provided Item:
Sayge's Fortune #25

Description

"Your fortune awaits you inside Wailing Caverns."

The fortune Sayge handed you feels slightly warm to the touch. Grasping it firmly, you see an image of a cave to the southwest of the Crossroads in the Barrens. Focusing closer in on the image, you wind about twisty passages until you reach a shimmering portal... one that leads into the heart of the caverns itself. Stepping through it, a strange chest appears out from nowhere.

Once you travel to the Wailing Caverns in the Barrens, you enter the instance. Then as you round the corner to the left, there will be one raptor, the box should spawn before you get to the raptor.

Give it some time to spawn as it doesn't spawn right as you enter the instance.

I just completed it as a level 27 druid on Windrunner, Alliance unfortunately. I got a Large Brown Sack(10 slot) 1 Spongy Morel(Level 15), 2 Medium Leather, 1 Moonberry Juice(level 35),2 Goldenbark Apple(Level 25), Hardened Leather Gloves( Level 31), and 3 Mithril Ore. So in my opinion it as worth it..I just prowled all the way through, grabbed the chest and just left so I didn't loose anything-Bajikosu(my druid's name)

Judging from GhostZswe's loot, the reward in the chest is probably random.

It's really wierd cause i couldnt find it either. first time i enterd and ran around inside WC but got tired of searching and then left.

then the 2nd time i did the same thing but after a while of searching i checked this page and saw that it was supposed to be right behind the "Disciple of Naralex" and went back there and there it was. i have no freaking idea how the hell i could walk past a chest that stood RIGHT IN THE DAMN WALKWAY! and TWICE! i think there is some kind of timer that makes it appear after 1 minute or something cause it was like running around in the forest and then walk over a highway without noticing you ever left the forest.

ah well got a chest of the falcon lvl 37.. disenchant

The level requirement says 60, but you just need to be able to get through Wailing Caverns, so 16-24. I did this at level 40, so it was a breeze. When you enter, just enter the instance (portal) like the quest description says. Just a little past the Disciple of Naralex is the chest. Make sure you have your fortune (Fortune #25) with you! I opened it and completed the quest, which gave me a Mysterious Lockbox. Inside I got some Delicious Cave Mold, a Homemade Cherry Pie, 3 Mana Potions, and a Huntsman's Bands of Stamina (Lv 34 Bracers). Not a ~bad~ award... guess I'll give it to my hunter to wear when he can get to that level.

Level 60 Hunter

That is a bull*!@# quest.. I got a lvl 51 belt that I Disenchanted and got 2 illusion dust. I must have run around Wailing Caverns for an hour prior to reading the posts about it being right behind the Tauren Druid...

Thanks

Well basicly according to all of you guys (and of course I've witnessed myself) that there is a basic trick to this quest. Just keep walking past the druid (the man who gives you "Mark of the Wild") and to make it simple, just before you encounter the dino, look back and you'll find the chest. This is the Trick and if you try it, it will work. Also according to Mondoblasto it is possable (but i never tried) that when you open it it will give you for example (what i got) "Some basic food and a travaler's backpack" and later when you open it, it will show you some other things to take out of it. If someone would be kind to conform this, it'll be great coz even I want to know.

I think that the items depend on the lvl of your char. Cause i did one of the quests 23 i think and it gave me a lvl 51 green so for higher levels these quests are a breeze and worth while

Yes i just did this with my 60 Mage. Some observations:

-The loot in the chest does seem to be based on level. I got a lvl 52 leggings plate item.

-I couldn't find it at first, then I walked in a little deeper, past the Tauren NPC, and it spawned *right beneath my feet*. Because i was moving, I moved off it right away and almost kept walking, so it's very easily missed.

-Worth 650xp at lvl 60 (not literally of course, but that's what the log says)

-Also worth 50 Darkmoon Faire rep, which is handy.

Make sure you take the Sayge's Fortune paper with you when you go in you can't open the chest without it! I did this out of curiosity at level 60: the box contained 2 x Lesser Mana Potion, 2 x Stormwind Brie, 1 x Moonberry Juice and 1 x Soft Banana Bread. :P

Like mentioned before the treasure chest is smack in the middle of the path behind the Disciple of Naralex. It is a dull-looking grey box, easily overlooked, so keep your eyes open!

this is a glitch.. i've kept my lockbox for a while, didn't touch the contents, when i took it out of the bank today and checked inside, my item (leather cap) had changed into a ring!(a green, if u want to know..) it's lvl 42, while i had JUST reached 41 within...oh, 30 mins or less, and got the missing corpse glitch before then(i logged out/back in), so who knows, either of those might have something to do with it... the ring doesn't really give me anything great, so i'm wondering what happens if i leave it for a while, maybe even wait till i lvl...
