"Must be lvl 45 to loot"

This is incorrect, I caught this fish as a level 19 today, and I was fully capable of looting it and turning it in for a Lucky Fishing Hat.

Its a whole tutorial, so it wont fit in entirety here because of the 4000 character limit.

Both armorfish and lightning eels are needed to fufill a "writ" for the Argent Dawn. Not too easy to catch with the lightning eels being the toughest. Don't forget you usually have to fish in "gank rich" terrain to catch these fish.

Sweet Day! And not even two o'clock!

After weeks of frustration not winning anything, getting ganked mercilessly and miserably, patience has finally paid off in my search for the rare fish!

Lightning struck twice! How lucky can you get?

The first strike, around 23 87, on one of the small islands off The Wild Shore, I pulled in to my complete delight, the long sought after "Dezian Queen fish!"

This is the fish I really wanted. The reward is the Eternium Fishing Line. Permanent +5 to fishing.

The glow I had for catching the fish had not dimmed when at about 27 83, Keffer's Angelfish struck! Reward, "The Lucky Fishing Hat!" Sure will be nicer than the plate I am usually wearing in the sun. "The Lucky Fishing Hat" is also a +5 fishing buff. Sure, my armor goes down wearing “The Lucky Fishing Hat,” but when you are fishing you are not thinking about fighting.

Fishing is escape and evade time. It is serious time to bring in the money fish. Fishing has helped the income stream considerably. At first, eels would go for a gold a piece, so I was pulling in around 50 gold a week from casual fishing trips. Now the market has been flooded and eels are cheap on my server at less than 50 silver a piece. However, The Writs asking for Armorfish, and Lightning Eels have given me a new cash crop. These fish sell over a gold a piece. So I hope my fishing level will help cut down the time to put a stack together.

Yes, fishing in dangerous territory is a game of escape and evade. When fishing I always bring my Ornate Spyglass along to look for fishing holes that can yield The Essence of Water. This is a 7-9 gold hit, so remember to hit the fishing pools! Naturally, if you spy a lone enemy low on energy, gorilla warfare can be inviting, but for the most part fishing is for fishing. I fish to make some dough, not to spend money using buffs chasing the enemy.

When fishing, I always make sure I have Elixirs of Air Breathing along with Swim Speed Potion for hopefully, a quick getaway, if I get into a scrap. Escape rate has not been that great, but about 50% of the time I have avoided the painful run from the graveyard.

The only rare fish to catch now is Brownell's's Blue Striped Racer. The reward here are the boots. Still good reason to head to Booty Bay on Sunday.

These enchants, the hat and line, combined with my +2 fishing enchanted gloves, along with my Arcinite Fishing Pole have moved my fishing talent to 347.

Now the true test will be to fish in Azshara without a lure. No more lures mean one more slot open in the bag. Fishing without a lure prior to these new enchants could be done, but it was not fun because too many fish would get away.

I found a great fishing site for fellow fishing enthusiasts I would like to share with you. http://web.mac.com/skwidspawn/iWeb/Fishing/Welcome.html

All sorts of cool stuff about fishing at this site!.
Seems there is more to fishing than first meets the eye.

There are still plenty of fishing stuff out there that needs to be hooked!

Good luck all! Don't get ganked!

To get this for your 19 twink, level your fishing up to 150, get a good pole and +fishing enchants, and use the aquadynamic fish attractor to be able to fish in STV. The big problem will be suriviving in STV--so get a friend or two to help (trading protection on different days quid pro quo is nice).

Don't form a party because when they kill mobs it will give you experience (which you don't want as a twink). Just let them keep the beach clear for you and kill any opposing faction players who don't mind their own business. Fish, fish, fish. You are not trying to win the competition, you are looking for the special fish to get the boots and hat. Stick with it and you will succeed.

I'm looking for this fish since december: i only miss this one. Few minutes ago I was fishing near the troll's isle when i get the "are you sure you want to pick up ..." question. I was so happy, cant believe I found the last rare fish. When i got to Booty Bay I realized it was not the right fish: it was the one for boots I already have XD

The search keeps on...

Check the Lightning Eel page for details, but it sounds like they might be used in lightning enchants for weapons in the future.
