there is no race to win the contest. All you need to do is catch a rare fish in the contest to get the boots

The tourney is actually from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET and turn-in up to 1 hour afterwards.

Does your twink have to be lvl 19 to do the quest?
Where exactly does fishbot spawn?
and do you get XP for doing the qest?

Pity you have to be lvl 45 to loot this fish.... I catched the fish three times, but could not loot. When I asked a GM, he told me it was because I am only lvl 42....

nope, this is one of the rare fish that you catch from the tastyfish pools on sundays 2-4pm during the fishing tournament. catch the racer and turn it into the fishbot that appears in booty bay for yer boots.

You can be fishing for the first time or for the 100th time, doesn't give any higher chance you will have it drop. When i had my 19 twink i fished for 28 weeks to get these and i played with people who had been after them for much longer.

Well worth the time investment, sets the dedicated twinks apart from the rest.
