Gnomish Tools (3)

Description

One of my most observant scouts brings back word that the wreckage of Proudmoore's fleet still remains off the coast of Durotar, just east of Tiragarde Keep.

It is no secret that the humans, in alliance with those foul little creatures known as gnomes, have an advanced knowledge of mechanics. We must have a complete understanding of all our potential enemies. And our people will benefit from this new knowledge as well.

Swim through the wreckage, <name>, and retrieve for me the tools of the Alliance.

Simply go south of the castle where all the NPC humans are located near Razor Hill. These chests can be found underwater, near the wrecked ships.

ok, it's simple, look at the map (press "M") look at the shoreline. The water line is all skinny blueish except for this one area that is fat. That's where the wreakage is.

1st box: go towards the mast (the tall look out box post thing with the rope ladder netting attached.)swim straight down, it's next to the stearing wheel of the ship.

2nd box: If you approached the mast from the coastline look left. (I think it's the front of the ship) There's this huge chunky thing that looks like a giant thread reel. Right next to it just in the shadows.

3rd: further out from the shore JUST outside the ship again in the shadows.

I hope this helps. :)

PS (I don't trust those DL'ed programs, one of my friends uses all of them and he got his account hacked. I sorta eyeball the co-ordinates. It's roughly about 10units to a 1cm on my screen so 53,56 is 5.3cm from the right and 5.6cm from the bottom.) but there's always someone who can just point and go it's thadda way! It's NOT ESSENTIAL to get dodgy programs installed on your precious computer.

leave the building the guy gave you quest in. make a right and head towards en jin. DONT GO TO SENJIN. when you leave razor hill, make a left and keep going until you see a ocean. you will see sucken ships. in most of the ships you will see little black boxes you need to right click to open. get the dwarve digging thingsx3 then rport back to the quest giver. make sure you swim back up to the top for air if you run out or are low. you will start losing chunks of health until you die fi you dont. watch out for clackers if they come after you, kill them.

You can just wait for the respawn of the bucket and take the next one. So no need to find three of them, just wait for the spawns.

I found two on the next boat at 62-63,56. One I found under the boat. Under the boat means going to the top of the deck and dropping down and swimming =P.

Careful of the Clackers, but easy.

My way to swim is to use the "pitch up" and "pitch down" buttons. If you don't know what they are, go into Key Bindings, and they are in the first section. If you don't like the defaults, change them.

If you are so inclined, it is also easy to swim by hitting the "auto run" key and then right-clicking and holding, moving the mouse around to steer yourself. That's kinda fun to do sometimes as a change of page.

While swimming, right-click and pull your view down. You will follow it deeper. Same thing to swim back up. Watch your air meter.

For those not used to swimming down into the water the easiest way is to use your mouse and just aim down ie get above your character and go down. easy. however if you would rather not do that for this quest. one chest is totally out of water at 63:58. its actually on the bow of one of the ships so you just stand out of water and away from mobs to get it.

These toolboxes will respawn after about 20 seconds, so when you find one you can just wait for another to spawn, unless you feel for exploring ofcourse. :)

found one at 62,46 underwater in ship killed one level 7 clacker easy, another at 64,53 didn't have to fight anything, last one for me at 62,56 also an added bonus, I found a battered chest at 62,55 at the bottom of the sunken ship. Too easy the clackers are levels 6 and 7 and spread far apart.

This is a great quest because the tool chests are just a few hundred feet east in the ocean and they're easy to grab and get back and finish the quest. The shellcrackers will aggro against you I do believe they're around level 6 and level 7. The chests are scattered all around the sunken ships.
