The Power of Pine

Use a Stink Bomb Cleaner to remove any Forsaken Stink Bomb that's been dropped on Southshore. Return to Sergeant Hartman in Southshore when you're done.
  •
Clean up a stink bomb that's been dropped on Southshore!
Provided Item:
Stink Bomb Cleaner

Description

The thing I hate the most about Hallow's End are the stink bombs the Forsaken use on Southshore. Who knew that celebrating liberation would have to involve such a smelly mess?

During Hallow's End, use this cleaner to remove any nasty stink bombs the Horde may drop here in the village. It uses the power of pine to fight funky smells.

Do your part to keep Southshore clean, and I'll give you some Hallow's End treats I'm sure you'll enjoy. We have a deal?

I think its bugged.&nbsp At first I thougth maybe only the first one to it can target it, but I know I was first to the last three or so and still "You have no target." THis sucks.

COrrection.&nbsp These things spew red gas for awhile after they throw em.&nbsp You gotta get them while they are doing this, and be first to do so.&nbsp No targeting necessary, just get close and use the cleanser.

Only one person can get credit for cleaning up each stink bomb, so be quick!

Patience is the key.

Wait long enough and you'll find a suitable stink bomb. It will likely take ages though, especially while All the Alliance are either:

(a) Ignorant of what's going on, and attacking horde on sight

(b) All camping the town waiting to do the quest themselves.

if case (a) - throttle your fellow citizens until they know what's going on.

if case (b) - maybe come back when it's quieter, or pray you're very lucky.

Read the quest, so I hang around in the area, won't attack Horde, not that any of them wants to come :-)

BUT: how this bomb looks like? is it a box, a pumpkin-like thingy, or ....?
Now I just browse around wondering when my mouse pointer will become a wheel....

Ok, I got the message, if I'm with Alliance I was born retarded, no problems, I can live with it :-)

... but still, does anybody knows...?

And every time some horde players puts down a stink bomb the Localdefense/WOrld defense will spam messages like: Southshore is under attack!

so u know when a stink bomb has been placed

I tried to remove a stink bomb and the text "You have no target" shows up&nbsp then I try again and while I am doing it the stink bomb disappears. and it says "out of range"

I never managed to target it.

Is there any quest at all similar to this for Horde players, that requires Alliance players to do something for the Horde to respond to? The most frustrating part of this quest is hoping some Horde will come along and throw stink bombs so Alliance can clean them up. I'm having a hard time of thinking of any quest that has quite the same dynamic for the Horde.

Do the horde have a quest to put stink bombs in town? and so does that mean we need horde participation?

Anyone else having trouble targeting these things? I run up, stand in the stink bomb cloud, activate the cleaner, and every time am told I need to target something, and get the text message 'Invalid Target'? Do I have to be in PvP mode or something to complete?

of the 3 quests you can do for this event, this is the worst. Hordes have it pretty hard to drop these bombs into Southshore because it needs a channeling effect and there are a lot of 55 guards, let alone silly alliance players that attack those who try it. Once one horde player manages, you'll have to competete with all the other allies to clean the bomb. I was lucky to notice an undead mage that died his way into the first floor in the inn, dropping a bomb. I cleared it instantly and /thank'ed the mage.

And yes, the XP aren't worth it, but its some Alliance rep and 15 of those treats so its fine. Better do the other quests for those though, this one is pure luck.

I missed a few before i managed to finish this quest. Note, the smoke bombs are orange. If you see orange smoke billowing out near the center of town, hit it with pine. Don't bother trying to clean the infected people, they'll vomit for 2 minutes, and it cannot be removed by priest, paladin, or potion. Just spray it before it goes off. On a side note...xp was iffy. 1650 at lvl 41.

The horde are supposed to come to southshore and drop them there, one at a time. :)

I managed to do this earlier, 1650 XP at lvl 35.

It's kind of funny, when you come near a stink trap you feel nauseus and you can even vomit. :D
