Description

The elemental spirits of this place don't be likin' me any more.

You know about the totems more than any, and I be needin' a spirit totem to protect me. We already got the elements, now we need somethin' more with more nature. More primal.

In the Western Plaguelands you can kill bears for claws and spiders for their eyes. The carrion birds eat everything, so they might have either one.

hi guys.

I soloed this quest at lvl 51.
The area which these mobs can be found are just slightly southeast of the bulwark (34.64)
Droprate isn't all that bad, it seems that the bears, spiders and carrions all seem to drop the quest items.
took me about 30min to finish this, q-items drop on average 2nd kill of each mobs.

level range 50-52
  • Diseased black bear.
  • Venom mist lurker.
  • Carrion vulture.

The Bulwark has plenty of the mobs needed for this quest. The drop rate isn't too bad considering some of the rates I've encountered.
Start at 21,58 all the way to 30,30 - plenty of the mobs throughout that area!

this quest isnt too hard, the drop rate isnt the best but i found most of the spiders at (45,40) area and the birds and black bears for claws at around (32,60) alittle north and alittle south there is a bunch of bears.

Drop rate wasn't to bad for me.
The good thing about this quest is that you can kill the vultures too in order to get the Bear claws / Spider eyes too.
Took me about 20 Minutes of grinding.

Trinket restores 324 and totem 300 which makes 624 total.

Restoration shammys can count Mana Tides 960 too. It makes atleast 1584 mana for you and your party members. Not bad at all imo.

I dont c y ppl say these dont drop, in westerplague lands, the bears and spiders on the far west, the are near the WPL enrtance from Tirisfall.&nbsp

These don't have a high drop rate but you should get them, and by the way, in order for them to drop, you MUST NOT BE IN A GROUP! Even with 1 other guy, this won't work, Blizz plz fix that.

The Carrior Birds drop both, but they drop a Black Bear Claw everytime, so kill the spiders first, then move on to the Carrion Birds.&nbsp I have Staff of Jordan at lvl 50 (still) so i don't know what reward to choose, i all ready have Mana Tide, making Enamoured Water Spirit pointless, but i also have my Gauntlets of Elements, what do i do?

If you can, try to do the The Wildlife Suffers Too http://classicdb.ch/?quest=4984 quest from the questgiver in The Writhing Haunt http://classicdb.ch/?npc=10739, which has you kill 8 diseased black bears. There is a prereq to kill Diseased Wolves, but you can knock that out pretty easily.

I understand how people are saying these rewards aren't that amazing, but in all honesty, almost every shaman item is going to be situational. The trinket is nice in that it costs no mana to use, whereas a mana totem does, if you have absolutely no mana, this trinket will get enough back in 6 seconds for you to heal yourself for about 600, that can save your life or in the right situation save a wipe in an instance.

I didnt find the drop rate all that terrible...

it seemed to be a 50% drop rate if you kileld the bears, birds and spiders between "The Bulwark" and "Felstone Field"

The mobs are between 50-52, if you are killing things higher or lower than that, then yes the drop rate blows (as I had found out when i was farming bears and spiders that were lvl 56 to the east, the drop rate is about 1%).

Other than that, this is easy exp gained if you dont mind running around a bit.

Drop rate is not very good. I spent about 30 mins killing bears, and spiders to get these 16 items...

Very good drop rate of the claws from the Diseased Black Bears. I didn't keep count but most of them dropped the claws. Every Venom Mist Lurker I killed had the spider eyes. I only found one vulture and it had an eye on it. So those mobs are your best bets for getting the drops for this quest. You'll find them more south of the road rather then north. North of the road are undead mobs in packs so you might wanna stear clear unless you can take them.

Also if you have skinning, the bears normally skin for rugged leather so it's a good place to stock up.

Horrible, horrible drop rate.

Takes an average of 70 spider and 70 bear kills to complete. Vultures seem to have slightly better drops.
