Description

Now we must combine the inert scourgestones and create a weapon to shatter the ranks of undead. This is no trivial task, <name>. Only the trolls of the sunken temple carry the kind of rare magic able to turn the evil of something against itself.

In the temple, the trolls are known as Gasher, Mijan, Zolo, Hukku, Zul'lor, and Loro. Do not feel remorse for their corrupt souls... they are not without evil.

The first part to this quest is very easy.&nbsp Just go to ur trainer in either IF or SW.&nbsp Then ur sent to Chillwind Camp (on the border of Western Plaguelands) to talk to <whomever>.&nbsp After u talk to the quest guy he gives u another to go to the Sunken Temple in The Swamp of Sorrows.&nbsp There u have to kill 6 trolls to get 6 feathers.&nbsp These trolls r on the upper floor on balconys.&nbsp To get to the balconys u have to go off little paths to the side that lead to the trolls, Alot of fighting involved in getting to the trolls,&nbsp The trolls r alone so its very easy for a 5-man grp.&nbsp After u kill the 6 trolls and get ur feathers ur done and can get ur reward.

Im have a lvl 58 pally who still has the sword.&nbsp in my opinon all the items r good but for the ppl who dont have all the money in the world and cant afford all the really good items just tae what u want and go from there.

I made the mistake of choosing the ring when I completed this quest. The +7 str/sta/int and healing bonus looked nice to me at the time, but now that I am 60 it's obsolete. If I could choose again I would definitely pick the trinket. Trinket bonuses never seem to get replaced as you progress in levels.

To complete this quest you will have to go to the Sunken Temple (Atal'Hakkar) instance in the Swamp of Sorrows.&nbsp The feathers will drop off of various mini-bosses.&nbsp I did this while doing Haze of Evil quest that I picked up in Un'Goro.&nbsp This instance really requires a full party.&nbsp I did it with a party of 4 but it was pretty rough.&nbsp You will mostly fight mobs of 3 or 4&nbsp 50 elites that group aggro.&nbsp Coordinates for the Sunken Temple are 69,55 in the swamp of sorrows.&nbsp You can take a gryphon to the blasted lands, and its about 5 minutes north or there.&nbsp Hope this helps some folks.

Solo Method:

If you do not feel like taking out the entire ring of these trolls you can do what I did and kill the named troll closest to the instance enterance for a colored feather and then run back to the enterance and reset the instance. this tends to take longer but I did this solo and it was the best way. it took about a hour and a half to complete.

Not the first choice but it makes it much easier to solo. 2 elite and 2 standard mobs is doable, 4 elites or even 3 is much harder.

for me anyhow, just a option if you end up having to do this solo or with only 1 buddy.

The sword is not good at all, and will be upgraded soon after you get it. Infact, if you have a truesilver champion, you'll already have a weapon better...

The trinket is OK, and will have uses at endgame.

The ring will also last you until endgame when you find an epic ring.

Personally, I chose the ring, though you may want to get the trinket, because while the ring will be upgraded, the trinket probably won't.

The Holy Mightstone is the only such item you can get, so choose carefully where you use it.

The blade is quite bad, Blanchard's Stout and even a blue weapon that can drop from one of the dragons in Sunken Temple (forgot name) is better than that.

Finger is unique at that level, but quickly replaced at 60. And the trinket is 3 critchance at level 60...

And as for trinket, it's 3% critchance for 25 seconds every 3 minutes...

Ring would probably be the best choose-wise choise, but sword costs the most. I'd go for ring if I leveled a new paladin :P

I think people forgot this is a lvl 52 quest, not a lvl 60.&nbsp The sword doesnt have great dps, but fairly nice stats.

The trinket is decent considering most other trinkets are crap when fighting

The ring is nice, esp at lvl 52 for stats and +healing.

No wonder blizz hates paladins, everytime they give us something everybody complains.

The sword was originally a bind when equipped weapon. Lvl 1's were running around with this thing. However Blizz immediately fixed it, without telling people also, thus it is now BOP. So if someone says it is actually BOP, he is right, if a person said it was ORGINIALLY BOE, then he is right.

If you plan on collecting and upgrading the 0.5 tier set, I would highly recommend you save the Mightstone for the mission to kill Baron Rivendale in 45 minutes.

People having been having many problems with this quest since strat became a 5 man. I'm certain a pally&nbsp who used this on a run would help make matters a lot easier.

Characters totally decked out in a single elemental school of +spell dmg gear are only a bit above what this can give a pally. And your running strat with it.

Remember, you only have 1 charge of this mightstone,&nbsp judge the group well to make sure they have the potential to kill the baron before you waste this.

For me, the choice between these items comes down to the trinket or the ring.

The sword is nice with all its resistances and bonus to healing, but it is a 2 handed sword. Thus its uses becomes limited as there are plenty of off-hands in the game that suite a paladin just nice. That, and 2 handed weapons are most likely for DPS paladins and then the bonus to healing becomes next to useless.

As for the ring, it can be replaced quite rapidly at lvl 60. Both
Fordring's Seal ( https://classicdb.ch/?item=16058 )
Songstone of Ironforge ( https://classicdb.ch/?item=12543 )
are equally good if not better. And both are quest rewards aswell.

As for the trinket, 2 competitors at that slot are
Royal Seal of the Eldre'Thalas ( https://classicdb.ch/?item=18472 )
Blackhand Breadth ( https://classicdb.ch/?item=13965 )
The first one is definitly a healing trinket, as where the 2nd one is a dps trinket. Sanctified Orb can be both.

Thus the choice comes down to play style. Healing at lvl 60 or lvling till 70.

Maybe I'm the only protection spec pally on here, but I'm taking the ring when I get this quest.&nbsp The stats are perfect for a pally, and how often do you find that?&nbsp I wouldn't choose the sword bc I'm a sword and shield pally, and I wouldn't choose the trinket bc I prefer something that is used all the time.&nbsp Also, the previous posters are correct. By the time you are done with this quest, you will be nearly big enough to start doing BRD and other instances in Blackrock Mts, and that's where the really l337 loot is, so hold out for a good weapon til then. Good luck and happy questing all.

Previos discussions about q rewards is debated...heres an add to that. The ring is good, but replaceable (or later on) The sword however is not bad att all...sure its replaceable but the stats of this sword is rather great. It also glows like it has an enchant on it which is pretty cool too! Hell Im crittin like 500-700 with this sword all the time. Its awsome... I also added an Ironcounterweight on it which makes it 3% faster.

By the way the quest is prety easy too...just go to ST, kill the Trolls and get your reward. Nice eh!

ok since everyone in this thread is pretty much retarted , ill post some useful info since it was difficult to find.

Sunken temple ( temple of at'hakkar is in swamp of sorrows on east end. finding the entrance is pretty easy just push toward southeast end of minimap youll find it , there is aggro on the way which can be annoying to get late group members in but its not so bad.

Basically the mobs that drop the feathers are the guardian trolls that hold the seal on the prophet. You will need at least 3 ppl for this , will be much easier with a full group tho , basically the dungeon is 2 big circles with 2 levels each.

The first circle is the troll / dragon circle , bottom layer is the dragonkin / scalebane and medium is troll ( there is a third level also which u need to access various sections of the second. BAsically when you zone in , straight ahead there is a witchdoctor and a zombie troll , slay them and go up , up , up to the cursed hall , make a right and start killing. Every so often there is a path leading back down , go down and around and there will be a troll. They are easy , and almost every one drops a feather , i had to kill all of them to get all 6 but i planned on clearing instance anyways.

After there dead , if you wanna beat instance , jump down , clear all the dragonkin , kill the roaming dragons , then fight the dragon boss. Then do the statues in other half and fight the swamp guy , although dragon drops the good stuff , i wouldnt even bother with other guy.

Hope this info helps , btw , shut up about what gear you think is good , let the person who is doing the quest decide. Post useful stuff or stfu

The quest is pretty simple just get the feathers from the 6 main trolls around the top of the circular room.

As for choosing what item i think personally the signet is best.
trinket from brd:
(Item #11819) is also another mage type of trinket that increase dmg/healing by 12 and use for decrease in mana. and 2 other trinkets where you can use but are more warrior type trinkets.
Then there is also the paladin trinket from the diremaul quest.

As for rings yes blood clot is a very nice ring, personally i am going to go for bloodclot with the signet to make an amazing healing pair of rings.

Ok for you Truebrit:
Go to the sunken temple in Swamp of Sorrows, kill the trolls which are are in rooms adjacent to the round hallway (the first room you enter in the instance).
When you leave the quest take the ring as it is imba, specially for such an easy quest. Oh and yes, only one charge with the mightstone.
There ya go! ^^

Okay since people seem to think the sword is good (When it's crap and will only last like 2 levels.) here's a list of items that can replace the quest given ones.

NOTHING seems to compare to the Trinket, and since at end game we're Holy and our crits basically give us a free heal I'd recommend it.

Both of these are from BRD

(Item #22208) Hammer which has +20 healing, str, stam and int, also 49DPS.

(Item #22257) Band +15healing, stam, int and spirit.

first to the poster that said the the sword is bop and says boe. thats true the sword used to be boe but it ruins game dynamiscs when you have level 8 chars running around with a sword like this. so blizz nerfed it a little. still you dont want that sword anyway you will get a better one in a few lvls. get the ring its by far the best option. I kinda was thinking of getting the trinket because I like vengeance(talent) but the ring probably is the best choice.

I dont want to be flamed for saying this but have you ever thought bot it? Im not trying to advertise the competition but do your research there are more places for info.

To me, the Lightforged Blade is a joke. When people say "You'll get a better weapon in a few levels", I say "I had Princess Theradras's Sceptor at level 49." As for the ring, it's a mighty fine ring. But, I *know* it will be replaced. I, for one, will not rest until I get a Band of Rumination. And the Blood of the Martyr's a *quest* reward. And ya only have to wait 10 levels at most before you can start hunting those. Sure, they don't raise as many stats or whatnot, but... I don't see the "Up to 15 (actually 12)" or the 14 attack power as that big a deal. Woodseed Hoop's a fine choice until then (Oh no, 20 health less!).

The only things that compare to the trinket are... well, there's nothing quite like it. Blackhand's Breadth almost does it for just melee. But not for casts, and with Illumination, Critical heals are an absolute delight (Thus the Band of Rumination). And, coming from an Engineering Paladin, it's still a nice trinket. I use it between me cooldowns. It's got a 3 minute cooldown for 25 seconds of increased... well, everything.

None of the items are particularly gamebreaking, but I think it's just most logical to go for the Trinket. I see a buncha Paladins with the ring, and that's fine. But, me? I like toys. I might not play like most Paladins, but that's not why I play the class. For the way I play, it's not bad at all.
