Description

Did I mention the bad news yet? Its name is Maws: 100 feet of death and destruction. I guess I may have forgotten that little tidbit.

According to my superior psycho-psionic clairvoyance, you'll find that the best spot to cast this buoy is off the coast of Azshara, in the Bay of Storms.

Look for a swirling maelstrom, most likely cluttered with wreckage.

By the by, I hope you have friends.

Now if you somehow miraculously succeed, take the scepter shard to Anachronos.

If you fail the quest, you can go back to the gnome to ask for another buoy at no additional cost.

We completed this quest with a group of four lvl 70s: two feral druids (tank-bear and cat), a beast mastery hunter for Tranquilizing Shot, and a holy priest. The fight against Maws was very easy; guess it would be possible to do it with just a tank and a healer.

~36 hours after you complete the quest, you'll receive a letter with 100 gold from Narain Soothfancy. Message reads as follows:
Champion,

The Blue Dragonflight believes that you are fated for greater things than even I could predict.

Despite what some would have you believe, our world needs heroes. In your darkest hour, when you face the blight of Kalimdor, recall the epic journies, trials, and tribulations that you undertook for an old gnome and let those memories lift your spirits.

as previous poster asked, can more than 1 person complete the quest if you only conjure 1 arcanite buoy?

Getting the quest is real easy, go speak to someone in CH, then get quest to loot head of Broodlord. After that return broodlords head, grind to neutral, continue the quest.

What if you wipe?
Do you then have to create a new arcanite buoy and spend again 10 elementium etc?

Anyone can start this quest after the gates are open. It's repeatable. I think the first step requires you to get the head of Broodlord Lashlayer in BWL, tho.

Assuming that somehow you have more than one person in the raid group who has the quest to retrieve the blue scepter shard, are each of them able to loot it, or is it gone as soon as a single person picks it up?

In other words...will ten elementium ore, etc., be required for every person who wants to complete this chain, or can more than one person finish the quest from one set of materials?

The head of broodlord drops.
It can be repeated. But it takes 140 members 1-2 weeks of farming for cilithid carapaces to get to this stage.
