Description

Hahaha, <name>. Back for more? Good, I like to hear that.

This time I want you to assassinate some of the harpy lieutenants in the Dry Hills. Only Witchwing Slayers can be lieutenants, and you can tell them apart by the rings they carry. They are a nasty bunch, but they lead some of the underlings in that area. Taking out 6 of them will be a decisive strike against their matriarchy.

Make sure they die painfully, <name>. We want those harpy wenches to know the idiocy of picking fights with the Horde.

Go to about 40,16.&nbsp Far NW corner of Barrens.&nbsp There are harpys all over but don't waste your time on the first ones you see!&nbsp Try to get around to the very, very far northern end of this area by walking on the right edge. There you'll find all the rings.&nbsp I think I got all 6 in under 10 kills. Good luck!

The Witchwing Slayers do not drop the quest item 100% of the time, so a bit of grinding will be involved. To compound things, there will be stealthed harpies roaming the area, so watch out for unexpected adds.

Also, a random elite patrols the area, so if you are soloing, be certain you don't run into her.

Listen to what others have said: you MUST go all the way to the northern most corner, and kill the lvl 17-ish Slayers. The mobs that drop these rings are confined to a very small area in the north: the most nothern corner of the harpy area, around 38,11.

This quest is so easy got it in 10 kills just make sure you are killing the harpy slayers i think those are the ones that drop it.

40, 15 like the previous quest. :D

Also watch out for a rare elite lvl 19 harpy: Sister Rathtalon. She paths around the area and packs quite a punch.

Guys I just finished this quest, it's very simple. I'm guessing everyone knows where these things are, but just in case, theyre in the very top left corner of The Barrens. The first couple minutes I got there I was really confused, all I saw were harpys and rougefeathers. But then when I went a little further into their nests, I found the Slayers. Theyre at exactly 46, 46. The droprate of this quest actually isnt so bad, its pretty decent. I would say around one out of every two Slayers drops a ring. The quest is pretty basic, but since youre surrounded by the Witchwings its pretty hard not to get adds. I had about one add for every two harpys I killed...(Luckily I'm a hunter, so my pet would handle the adds.) I suggest not doing this quest if you are over level 20, the experience is just terrible at that point.

Like others I had real trouble finding the rings. (at level 19 - solo).

eventually found them, and they all came really close together in the north-west most cove area in the mountains. There are two tree icons on the map in that area. Essentially it seems you have to go deep in to the harpies to find the rings. I couldn't work out whic harpies had the rings before getting in to battle but they seemed to all be slayers I think.

Drop rate has improved since last patch 1.12

In less than 20 min. dropped all 6 rings at loc. 38,15...

No adds - just pull the fringe ones and then work your way through them... :)

This is quite an easy Quest just go there with a friend at lvl 15-19 and you should be fine.

The quest itself is pretty easy. but there's level 17 ambushers that are stealthed until you get close as well as a level 19 elite. The ambushers are no problem if you're on the look out for them and attack them first. I did this as a level 19 mage (leveled up to 20 while there) and couldn't solo the elite. She stuns you for like 8 sec and kills you too quickly.

There's also a chest at 40,15 if you're lucky.

I think the reason why the drop rates for many quest items may be low for some people and higher for others may be because of level. Whenever I do a quest in which the drop rate is very poor, I just wait a few levels, then come back and do the quest again. Usually the drop rate increases dramatically (like 100% drop or so).

This quest took alot longer than I thought it should. At level 15 I recieved approximately 130xp per kill. beginning with a new level, I was out at the north west corner of the barrens until I was at 7400xp. which means I had about an 11% chance of the ring dropping. So I had to kill about 60 until I completed the quest. It's up to you whether or not you think it's worth it. I personally didn't think it was, at least with the luck I had. But who knows, quest luck can run that way...

You want to go to the far northern part, where the hive-looking things are.&nbsp The rings don't drop anywhere else.

I soloed this with my 17 tauren warrior and it was easy. Yeah the drops are slow but I gained 6-7 bars of xp in doing it before hand in.

Just a warning, the slayers can Execute u when u are around 20% or so health and it usually hits for around 110.

Those mobs are annoying. When you pick them off one by one, watch for the Elite that's around the Sister, she will hurt you.

The Witchwing Slayers are just a little further in from the easier harpies. They average around level 17. Watch out for the elite NM that roams around this area.
