Bloodkelp (20)
Provided Item:
Left Piece of Lord Valthalak's Amulet

Description

As I was saying, <class>, in my living years I flirted with becoming a diviner. But, there really wasn't as much profit in it as you might imagine, mostly because it's dangerous and the reagents are rare and expensive. However, I do know enough to be able to pinpoint the final piece of the amulet, and the spirit of my former comrade along with it.

This is where you come in, <name>. I need you to go to Alcaz Island off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh and collect Bloodkelp from the Strashaz naga that live there.

Alcaz Island is of course located off the coast of Dustwallow. North east. Guarded by level 60 naga and I think hydras. This once was the holding place of the real king Varian Wrynn who was kidnapped by the defias.

Biggest island to the easdt of dustwallow marsh, you can swim there. Just go north up the beach from Theramore and when you come to Murlocs start swimming&nbsp East.

Before you get to the island you will run into Lv60/61 Elite Hydra's (sea monsters). They hit hard and do a 3 minute nature damage + increase physical damage disease.

The Naga's are Lv60/61 and are mixed between warriors and casters. Sorcerers are easier, Sirens do shadow pain. Ice and shadow damage respectively.

Hints: Avoid going into the huts once on the island, work a path to the nagas and back track so you have a safe place to rest for respawns. Respawn rate is about every 4-5mins per naga.

First hut to West and Tower North East may have baskets outside which also contain Bloodkelp.

You can bring friends but its a hassle for them unless they are on the same questline.

Solo'd, Lv60 Frost spec'd Mage

For u holy priests:&nbsp U can get past naga using mind soothe.&nbsp U can get relatively close to mobs without aggro.&nbsp Use mind vision to find baskets.&nbsp U can open baskets through hut walls.&nbsp Just jump from one mob to other using mind vision until u find basket.&nbsp Use mind soothe to move to basket.&nbsp Repeat until u get 20 bloodkelp.&nbsp I did this and it took 30 minutes and I only needed to kill 2-3 naga.&nbsp Most baskets re-spawn at tower on top of hill.&nbsp Good luck!

Leads to one of these:

I can't tell if it's possible to get one that matches the Component of Importance you already collected, but it doesn't much matter.

Just as a little added triva for you, the king of stormwind (the real one, not the kid) used to be on this island.

60 rogue, on upgrade quests, so i have pre mc kit [6 man guild]. all mobs are elite. i managed to kill 59&60 naga warriors and serpent guards using crippling and stun lock, 59,60 and 61 sorceress were really easy with stuns, kicks and mind numbing poison, the 59 and 60 sirens with shadow damage were absolute feckers though, swp, mind blast all spells seem instant so could not interupt them.

getting the bloodkelp solo is straightforward as a 60 rogue with average kit.
sirens = shadow damage [ouch]
warrior/serpent = melee [stunlock]
sorceress = frost/arcane [interupt and stunlock]

If you go down the ramp near the plane, there are several crates with 2 or 3 pieces of Bloodkelp. Helps speed this up a bit.

Not too bad, bring a few friends. Kill elites, and the baskets give bloodkelp too so look for them on the ground. Watch out for the humanoid elites, they can be a lil tough.

seems like they drop every 2 kills, as said before you can find safe places. also amusing is a couple of pilots near the far end end killed them

soloed this as a frost specced mage (frostbolts hit for around 740). i found that the "shadow priest" sirens were hardest, and it was vital for me to wait for the ice barrier cooldown before attacking, so i could use it 2 times in same battle. the hydras were also hard cus they hit hard as hell once they got close, but these seems not to drop bloodkelp, i killed them to be able to relax a little more (hydras are the patrols). the best source was the basket that spawned 3 times if you take a left after u come ashore and walked a little bit on the path, and its near a single house guarded by 2 mobs (aggro not linked). good luck. this took me about 1 hour. since many mobs are "casters" i suggest u bring a rogue or something.

this quest was scary and hard to solo, but defenetly doable!

good luck

Just soloed this as a rogue, didn't have to kill a single mob, and I never died. Took about an hour, just patiently going around to all the places the baskets spawn. I have improved sap, so that helped. Used vanish only 4 times. Places where there was 2 mobs guarding one basket I just had to distract one and sap the other, and simply loot the basket, just make sure to distract the first mob at max range. Got an average of 2-3 bloodkelp per basket, only once did I find one with only one. Tip: if your sneaky with your camera angle, you can actually loot some of the baskets THROUGH the building walls and avoid the naga entirely. Found 3 locations where this was possible. Finally an easy part of this long quest line!

I soloed this part pretty easily.&nbsp Just make sure you keep inner fire up and have PW:S on yourself whenever you can and you'll be fine.

Pretty easy compared to the other Quests, I solo'd the Sorceress, at the Warriors I use dodge/adrenline.

But I'll say you should bring one or two friends... gonna be SO much easier!

Done with 60 Rogue^^

Drop rate is ok, it's just too bad that you need this with at least two people, making the kills at least forty.

Did this today with 60 priest and 60 lock. Not every mob drops the widgets but when they did it was almost always 2 of them.

There were 3 baskets down the ramp by the Minion of Weavil guys. Be aware they have lots of hps. Baskets yielded 2 as well.

my recommendation would be to just kill them up top and not worry about baskets.

Hope this helps!
