Ok, very important!

This quest is currently bugged. If you do the event in BRD, the person on the quest MUST be the first person to loot the chest. If you are not the first person then no one can loot the amulet. I got this information from a GM after not being able to loot it, then went again and looted it first and it worked fine.

After accepting this quest, 5 Spectral Stalkers will spawn and attack you. They are non-elites and easily dispatched, especially at 70.

This encounter is pretty unique among WOW quests.
Basically, you go in BRD arena, and as soon as you see the yell "your sentence is death bla bla bla", use the Banner of Provocation at the midde of the arena.

Your group will have to kill the first wave, like any BRD arena.

Then, Theldren will come with his friends to kick your asses, in place of regular random boss.

They are 5, and this battle is pvp-ish.
They are IMMUNE againt Taunt, Challenging Shout, Mocking blow etc. They are still under the effect of skills like fade, feint etc.
They are all elites, but their HP are equal to epic geared buffed people (so around 7-10k HP, not more), their armor are quite the same as their blue geared class.
Except the aggro skills, theses guys can be afflicted with ANY sort of skills/spells (root, sheep, fear, etc)

their setup is random, but there aren't more than 2 guys of the same class (the following list may be uncomplete, i shall try more than thrice and update the list soon)
-Warrior : Theldren the dwarf in valor, with an arcanite reaper.
-Mages : Undead (Volida) / Qilboar (Snokh Blackspine)
-Chaman : Tauren (Korv)
-Hunter : Centaur with a non elite Hyena as a Pet (Hunter : Malgen Longspear / Pet : Gnashjaw)
-Rogues : Gnome (Lefty) / Gnoll (Rotfang)
-Priest : Troll (Va'jashni)
-Special : Gobelin Engineer (Reznik)

Basically, it's completely random : you will always have Theldren as the warrior, but you can have 2 mages and 2 rogues with him, or 1 of each classes. (the pattern is completely random too, you can have the same guys at a second attempt, or not)

Don't Underestimate them because of their HP and armor (really player-like), they can kick your asses, just like you can.
*Theldren : he is pretty annoying...
He spam Mortal Strike (like any cookie cutter warrior), he loves to intercept your cloth buddies, and doesn't hesitate to use Intimidating shout.
*Mages : they use frostbolt, flamestrike, frost nova, Blizzard and even sheep !. Theses guys should be killed ASAP (you won't love them when they sheep your healers)
*Rogues : pretty annoying : they love stunlock people (yes, kidney shot and all). they CAN vanish (and then use ambush/cheap shot against you).
*Chaman : like any chaman would do, this guy spam totems (especially earthbind totem and fire nova totem -_-), and the infamous frost shock... (fortunately, he doesn't seem to have Reincarnation)
*Hunter : the centaur changes his target whenever he feels he has to (his range is huge). He can use Aimed shot, multi Shot, Arcane shot, and even Feign death + frost trap.
His pet is tauntable, like any in pvp (the pet doesn't have anything special tough)
*Priest : all of you know that priests should be killed on sight in pvp, that rule is applied here too : he has psychic scream, flash heal, greater heal, Power Word : Shield and Shadow Word : Pain. But, he is easy to kill, really
*Special Gobelin : if you met already the goblins in BWL, this guy is somewhat their cousin : like any bombs maniac, he throws dark iron bombs etc to anyone within range. As a gobelin, he uses indeed the dragon breath trinket, and even the Arcanite Dragonling as a pet. he is not too dangerous, but the fireworks add more chaos in this encounter :D

hints :
you should have 2 sorts of Crowd Control. Use sheep on theldren : you don't want him to MS everyone and using intercept and intimindating shout (and battle shout, which increases his buddies melee damage, and that is kinda dangerous with 1-2 rogues around)
If you get 1-2 rogues, try to fear/stun them.
Now that you have less problems, just act like in pvp : chop the clothies up, then the chamy, following the hunter/gobelin.
Finally, the rogues and finish the job by killing Theldren (he is a piece of cake alone)

You have to kill all of them, don't espect them to not respawn if you wipe, they will.

With some practice, this encounter is quite easy, but really fun (pretty weird to do some pvp, in pve. and they really seem to be real player! (except they have a lack of assist))

oh, by the way : when you beat them, there will be a chest "arena spoils" : you will have a BOP/BOE blue (if you are lucky, you can loot an epic)

and the final note : the Banner of Provocation isn't an unique use, it has a cooldown of 10 minutes. You CAN repeat that encounter, so you can farm some blue :D

Have fun (hoping this little guide will help some of you)

Theldren's corpse only contains the amulet.&nbsp BUT!&nbsp When you kill Theldren's entire team, a chest full of prizes drops in the middle of the room.

The chest is named Arena Spoils.

This chest has some relatively nice stuff in it.&nbsp They are different items than the items that are dropped by the normal arena bosses (who include Eviscerator, Grizzle,&nbsp Hedrum the Creeper,&nbsp Anub'Shiah,&nbsp Ok'thor the Breaker, and Gorosh the Dervish).

The items from the chest are also higher level than the drops from the normal arena bosses (level 56 reqs as opposed to level 49-52 reqs).

However, there is not nearly as much of a variety in the chest as there is in the normal arena boss drops, and it is a much harder fight than the normal arena fights, so it's probably best not to redo this fight on future BRD runs unless someone in your group wants one of the items from the chest.

I'm a priest 60 and did the quest with:
60 Warrior (guild main tank)
60 Mage
60 Druid
60 Rogue

The 5 group mob party is random, only the warrior is static (and probably the priest). We've had priest, two rogues and a hunter.

We wiped two times, cause the fight was a real chaos. I died as first one, because of two rogues and hunter spamming me. Agro was unbeatable.

So I though about Mind Control. I cast it on elite priest and whole fight changed. I could heal, even though I had rogue and pet on me, and about 10k health. I used all mana, and mind controled rogue, killed the rest. That spell changed whole fight, so I recommend to use it - it's really helpful.

Good luck anyone who will try it too.

54 rogue

so basicly it was a 4-man team..
just go to the ring of law, plant the damn flag.. you'll fight against spider mobs, easy. but rest right after spiders, cuz the theldrens team will spawn and attack right away..
Kill the healer.. the name is Korv.. kill him first..
sheep the Eng-mage goblin, kill the other mage, trap the hunter and let someone tank the warrior..
they act like pvp players.. so protect healers.. we used mana and health pot to survive..

GL to you all!

priest.&nbsp

Died the first go around as the 5 spawns aggro immediately.&nbsp The second time we had time to target without drawing aggro.&nbsp Sheeped 3 (Korv, Rotfang and Snofk) and nuked the boss first.&nbsp One of our mages died when rotfang unsheeped (he hits hard and stuns) but the remaining 4 were still able to pull it off.&nbsp Definitely limiting the crowd (sheep in this case) and high DPS helps immensely.&nbsp I tried it with several other groups, with tanks, and failed.&nbsp Carefull to keep your targets sheeped, polymorph didn't hold long on them.

I wanted to get this quest done and had some problems being Marksman. Respecced to Beast Mastery and it worked out. Bestial Wrath really helped and I also used the PvP trinket. They put up a hard fight - gouge, hamstring, heals, dots, that kind of stuff. I'm convinced I saw them ressing Theldren too :O

Trapped two of them at the start, that helped. Really had to be on the edge, and I geared up in some PvP stuff for it. Some resillience, resists and about 9400 hp. It's doable, but I had to learn how to not do it the hard way a couple of times.

Sprinted to get some distance from the rogue, who was still sapped, and went for Lefty. Blinded Theldren and took out the rogue next, then got Theldren last. Had a lil luck on my side and had to use a HP pot as well as an Charged Crystal Focus from Blades Edge.

2x Mages, Pally, Druid, Priest

The Challenge quest is all about crowd control.
You will need at least 2 Mages, your group should be all lv60's.

It doesn't matter if your warrior and paladin have uber xyz epix tanking gear, theldrens team think like pvp players and will kill your priest at any opportunity.

Anyone generally being useful in the fight they will gang up on too.

The exact composition of his team is random when summoned but you should definately sheep the Priest or the fight will go on and on until you're all dead.

It's a difficult quest but nowhere as hard as baron in 45. That was fiendishly evil.

I love when people say "EZ" about something that obviously is not... having said that, we did complete this run first try with a warrior, 2 mages, a priest and a druid.&nbsp

However -- both healers drew almost instant aggro and died quickly, so thanks to the epic gear on our tank and mage's CC the remaining 3 took them down!&nbsp Maybe its best not to heal at first, I'm not sure.&nbsp What I do know is that when I (the druid) put the dog to sleep the hunter aggro'd on me, and he stunned me repeatedly -- Nasty!

At least this is the last fight before you get your loot!&nbsp Congrats if you get through it.

Crowd conrol is a must!

did it with:
60 rogue
60 mage
58 warlock
60 hunter
60 priest

this is just like a pvp match...

if you have great crowd control, this becomes really simple. dont just rush in, have a plan. we sheeped/froze/charmed/and feared everyone but the one we killed... when you think of this like that, its really easy. but you need to have a group geared for crowd control and dps...

I was the rogue and prolly the most replaceable. but you can interchange hunters, mages, and warlocks. the healing and the dps is necessicary tho. the warlock was really the most help too. it was able to CC 2 mobs at once. that was really key for this.

I ran this three times today with an epic'ed hunter, a rogue, a tier 0 mage, a druid, and a tier 0 priest. I played the druid and ran in 12k armor. Simply put, we got thuroughly smashed. Our best attempted down two of the five mobs. They are all level 60 elites, they all can cast or use bombs constantly, and regularly hit for 300+ points of damage, even through my 11k armor. The biggest issue is the first to be engaged usually gets all five at once takes so much damage the healer spends all the effort on that one person, let alone helping anyone else. If anyone has successfully beat this, I would love any tips. At this point, I am thinking two or three mages is a requirement.

Figured out two things: First, it is best if you bring two mages. Sheep the shaman (tauren) and the mage (undead). Immediately take out the rogue. Take out what is left but leave the warrior (Theldin) for the last non-sheeped. Finally, kill the sheep off. Second, there is a way for any team to complete this. We tripped across it. Don't know if a bug or meant to be that way. This event can be completed, always.

Setup as follows

Hunter (myself)
Warrior
Priest
Rogue

Went in, waited for sentencing, dropped banner and away we went. Had to kill first set of arena mobs first...whatever. Drink up, and get rdy. In they come...mage, hunter +pet, rogue, shaman, and warrior(Theldrin). That was what we had to fight. Killed the mage real fast then turned to hunter and his pet. Shaman and rogue killed shaman and rogue while warrior tanked the warrior to the end. At no time was it even close to being a wipe...we all finished up with close to full life.

Here's the group I did it with:

Mage (me)
Mage
Pala
Priest
Hunter

The first time I put the banner down we wiped on the 5 mobs. When we got back to the arena they were still there, so I used an ornate spyglass to set targets from the other side of the arena. 2 sheeps (2 warriors), pet on one, and then a hunters mark on the one we kill first, in this case the dirty shammy. Watch out as they heal fast so nuke them when they are low on health. The fight will be short so priest can (and must) heal fast. We made sure warriors were sheeped until the casters were dead. On both attempts our priest died early on so watch out for that. Finally, they can sheep you too, so beware.

Great fun and not too hard. More plz blizz :P

Without any doubt one of the best events around. Like said before, it can be hard and tricky! I'd say if you're doing a PUG, don't even bother bringing anyone below 60, or donned in greens.

Did the guild run today with me (a Paladin), a Druid healing, 2 Mages and a Warrior. We didn't bother going through any tactics or whatever since we all had quite a few epics. 2 of 'em got sheeped (not Theldren, maybe we should've). One of our mages died but by the "Five Fat Finger Exploding Heart Technique" which did 7291 damage, but besides that we beat 'em down fairly well. FUN!

Much easier with some crowd control. NPC's are non-tauntable, so everyone needs to be prepared to cc/kite and look after themselves to some extent. Sheep and a couple of fears will make it much easier.
