to be exact, you have to be a gnomish engineer, and as the chicken is BOP, well, you get the idea.

and btw, for those who want to say "but i know goblin engineers who can make gnomish stuff", well, that is true, but the high lvl stuff in either goblin or gnomish engineering are both exclusive to the specialization of engineering you choose, and you can't switch to the other specialization just by dropping the profession and training again from the beginning, blizz fixed it that way. sorry.

I highly recommend AGAINST getting any of the Craftsman's Writ Quests for the following reasons:

1) Unlike other rep turn in quests, the initial turn-in does not give you a big chunk of XP.

2) Most of the items for turn in cost a significant amount of gold in the AH. You're better off saving your gold for something else.

3) The writs given are completely random, you won't get them based on the profession you have. For example, as an alchemist, I received the writ for Gnomish Battle Chicken... a BOP item that I had no way of obtaining unless I took up engineering. (A GM said that this quest "functioned properly")

4) Basically, in trying to gain 50 more rep, you may be spending more than 50 gold. And if you get a difficult writ, too bad, you just lost out on what could have been a sure 100 rep.

The person above has a great argument. I myself wouldn't recommend these quests due to you don't know which quest you may get and it may be costly. Just go to Outland. :]. Only do them in my opinion if you need an item from a vendor badly or want something.

This is one of the random quests given by Dispatch Commander Metz in exchange for a Argent Dawn Valor Token. The awards are used to buy items from the Argent Dawn; but they require a high number of the insignias.

Root quest: Craftsman's Writ.

These are the following quests that can be obtain by doing the root quest:Now that the Burning Crusade Expansion is out most people will skip these quests. It is recommended by most to skip it unless there is an item you want from an Argent Dawn vendor that requires the award(s).

What was Blizzard thinking when they made this one? The chicken is the only BoP of all the quests.

Doesn't matter to the npc that its bop ).

But the amount and items for this turnin is completely insane on its own.
