Description

Opening the chest reveals a blackened orb, pulsing with an eerie light. It is the treasure of which Fitzsimmons spoke: a Cursed Eye of Paleth.

Take the Cursed Eye of Paleth to the dwarven priest Glorin Steelbrow, in Menethil Harbor. Ask him how to remove the Eye's curse.

If you are a warlock/shadow priest, is it better to keep the orb as it is, or still cleanse it? i mean, i'd give 3 stamina for 10 shadow dmg any day

The captian is on the ship furthest from land. He isn't too tough but be careful about adds. The box is on the same ship at the very bottom. This part can be tricky since there is quite a few creatures surrounding it. The box can be hard to see so look carefully.

Then for the chest, it is easiest with another person. Have him agro all the guys down there and make him just run away. Then just sneak in there and click on the chest. The chest is at the bottom of the boat, the same boat as the captain

Interesting that the Spell "Devouring Plague" which is for undead priests only (or so I have been lead to believe) requires this quest, or at least that is how I read it in the spell description.

Is there a Horde equivalent to this quest or is the description wrong?

Just completed The Third fleet, last part
'Lifting the curse'.
Nothing in the box for this quest, and captain wont drop the key anymore.

So waste of time for Alliance to even try for it
if ya ask me...
