Vial of Hatefury Blood (10)
Lesser Infernal Stone

Description

The next components are found in Desolace, far to the west of the Barrens and even the Stonetalon Mountains.

There, chaos still reigns after the Sundering. Both your strength and cunning will be tested there--you will face creatures of hatred and also of the Burning Legion.

From the Hatefury satyr in the northeast, bring me their blood. From the lesser infernals in Mannoroc Coven, bring me a lesser infernal stone.

We will use both in the construction of your robe.

If you're a horde warlock and working on this, pickup Befouled by Satyr https://classicdb.ch/?quest=1434 also from the NPC at the kodo graveyard camp. The mobs killed in that quest are the same ones that drop the Hatefury blood. Also, the drop rate isn't great but it isn't bad either.

I was able to solo this entire quest chain at level 31 and get the robe. Although there are better robes to get in your 30s, I'm pretty sure this is the best robe locks can get at my nub level. The most difficult parts are, by far, the infernal stone and the smoldering coals, respectively (infernals are way more difficult than the elementals, surprisingly), so I'll just go over those.

Both of the areas you have to go to for these components are high traffic, high pvp zones, and you're liable to get ganked just for being there, so if you're on a pvp server, I'd highly recommend hiding behind a corner and busting out your eye to scout before proceeding, because you're going to be there for a few minutes. As it turned out, there were some allies out in Arathi farming my mobs and the eye kept me from wandering into trouble.

OK, so first the hard part- the infernal. How do you solo a mob 6-7 levels up? Very carefully and slowly. I used my infernal for this and dropped some +health regen pots to help out, although the pots may not have been neccessary. The trick here is to make sure your v-dub keeps agro by taking one of his taunts off autocast and hitting it whenever neccessary to pull agro off yourself. If you play a warrior (60 warrior, here), then hopefully you know that your taunt ability doesn't actually add to agro, it merely puts you on the top of the agro list. It's an agro "puller," but not an agro "keeper." I don't know the details of vdub taunt, but I assumed it worked the same way as the warrior taunt.

Wait a few seconds for vdub to get a firm hold on the mob, and let loose your dots. I'm affliction spec, so I have three insta-dots, and I just used those. I seem to remember infernals being resistant to fire damage (but don't quote me on that!), and didn't bother with any fire spells. I just cast the dots until they landed, waited a second, then drain life'd as neccessary so I could heal v-dub when he needed it. This is not a race- if you do too much damage, you'll pull agro and die very quickly. I didn't use a single nuke, and I think I might've died if I did. If things start getting hairy, sac v-dub, aplify curse + CoEx, pray it lands, and run. Stone dropped off the first infernal I killed.

And now the easy part- the elementals in arathi for smoldering coals. Just buy a stack of cresting charms at the AH (I bought 10 for a G), and use those. Drop rate was not 100%, more like 50, and I had six charms left over.

As a side note, warriors use those charms for their whirlwind weapon quest, and you could probably make a fellow nub guildie warrior happy by saving them for him/her. Farming for those really sucks, especially if you're trying to get your weapon at the earliest level possible, and the help is usually appreciated.

As an Alliance Member, getting to Desolace can be quite the long, and sometimes dangerous journey. The Hatefury mobs are levels 32-34, so easy enough to get the Vials of Blood. The Lesser Inferno is a lvl 38 mob, and has a Succubus minion that is lvl 37.

I managed to complete this last night as a lvl 36 Warlock, and never relly struggled with it. Only suprise was the succubus minion, as she was hiding behind the Infernal when I aggro'd it. Set hearthstone at Booty Bay before leaving for this quest, so warped back to BB then took ship over to Ratchet...

Mats will be found in Desolace. The satyrs that drops the blood viles are at Sargeron (north-eastern part of Desolace around 76,21)

The Lesser Infernals are in the southern part of Desolace anywhere in Mannoroc Coven (like around the area of 53,73)- just put up Detect Demons and go find one.

I got my stone after the first kill at level 32 using my VW, had to banish once but I didn't have too much trouble.

Soloed at Lvl 33. Caught a ship to the Barrens and ran west through Stonetalon (all the way up to the peak just to grab the flight path) and back down through the Charred Vale. Used the other comments here for a relatively painless quest. Note that there are 2 level 37 Infernals and the Lvl 36 one. Pick on the Lvl 36 one. I just used VW, stuck the Infernal with Curse of Agony and Corruption (no fire spells work...) and then sat back and healed the VW (resticking the DOTs as they came off).

Both Satyrs and Infernals count as Demons and so show up using your Sense Demons skill. Works like a Hunter's radar.

I found all the Hatefurys around 73, 20 in Sargeron in the northeast corner of Desolace.&nbsp I killed about 7 Hatefurys before I got my first blood vial drop.&nbsp The drop rate for me was every 3-4 kills.&nbsp The Hatefurys also dropped silver, silk and other little stuff.

I found my first Lesser Infernal at 52, 71 in Mannoroc Coven in the southern part of Desolace.&nbsp I got the stone on my first kill.&nbsp Hearthstoned back and went on with the quest.&nbsp good luck and have fun!

This quest is do-able at the time when the quest is received, I received it around level 29, but started it at level 31. The Hatefury Satyr can be found in the north east corner of Desolace, and the Lesser Infernal (https://classicdb.ch/?npc=4676) can be found by following the path south, the one that doesn't lead to the graveyard, to Feralas. Also found in that location will be Mana Eaters (needed for the Fragments of the Orb of Orahill quest (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=1799) also a Warlock Quest), a few Succubi, as well as a few humanoids. The Lesser Infernal is around level 35-36, so it isn't an easy fight as it is a very tight area.

This quest was alot easier then I first thought. The drop % on the items are 5% if you take a look at wowhead, but keep in mind that alot of people have been killing these mobs without the quest which lowers the %.

Got all the blood on less then 15 kills and the infernal stone on the first kill.

Did this at level 32, though it will require some patience.&nbsp Your voidwalker should live through the fight if you do it right, however.

Find a level 36 infernal and have your voidwalker go in.&nbsp Make sure you keep your eyes on the voidwalker's health and don't get distracted (stating the obvious here).&nbsp Have it get a good hold of the infernal and lay on your DoTs, sans anything fire based.&nbsp

Once the voidwalker goes into less than half its health, cast banish on the infernal.&nbsp It might resist, but it usually didn't resist any of my banish casts when I did it.&nbsp Use health funnel and pop a potion or bandage if you need to.&nbsp DoT again when banish wears off if needed.&nbsp Repeat.&nbsp The infernal will die.&nbsp You can also try to shadowbolt, but I didn't in case it pulled the infernal off of my void onto me.

Got the infernal stone after my first kill like the others.

Pretty low level for this quest, but I like high exp and a challenge.&nbsp The hatefuries were easy enough -- keep your VW out, pick them off one by one, have plenty of bandages to heal inbetween fights.

The infernal was near impossible.&nbsp I tried it four times, and was so close to killing it, but I was also so close to dying until a horde rode up and helped me kill it.&nbsp Funny, everyone Alliance-side ignores my polite requests for assistance even though they're RIGHT THERE, yet the opposite faction proves to be the most helpful.

Anyway -- hatefuries are okay, infernals are pretty much impossible without help or lots of mana potions and banish.

Make sure to grab "Befouled by Satyr" https://classicdb.ch/quest=1434 when doing this quest.&nbsp I had noticed after killing (about that many infact, if not more) them for the blood vials.

Always helps to be effecient, but I guess I'll get more EXP by killing more of them... but still a bother..

Well I don't know what all the fuss is about, this is one of the easiests Quests you can do, hardest part is getting to them.

use your Felhunter for both parts, they take all Buffs away. Send it in to fight & then use Drain sole against the Hatefurys & the Infernal. nothing else needed, at some point you may have to Health Funnel your Felhunter.

cords are 71,20 for Hatefury's. don't go inside. take them down from around the edge. took me about an 30 minutes. but worth the time.

Don't have cords, when you enter Desolace from Stonetalon, it is around to the left side.

53,70 for the Infernals. follow the path & the lvl 36 are on the left side as you run down.

Follow the path south west, then south at the junction. then west again. you can't miss them.

Don't be paniced by the posts above, its a very simple Quest.

Ended up killing 2 infernos, a succ, and a summoner/imp with him. Was quite fun. I forgot that I didn't have permenant control however and was a bit surprised when he randomly attacked me. But I banished him and made a run for it.

I soloed this quest at level 34. The first part was easy and seemingly the Hatefull Rouges drop the blood more often than the other hatefull classes.

The second part was a doozy. I managed to spot one level 36 infernal, but he was surrounded by level 38-40 creatures, including one level 39 felhunter called the mage hunter.

Anyhow, I decided to pass on him and finally found a somewhat solitary level 37 infernal. He was orange to me, but I've managed to beat down on oranges before with my pets without problems.

I used my void walker, but the infernal completely ignored him and went right for me. Much to my surprise, the infernal was immune to fire damage, which negated about 80% of my spells. It was a fierce battle that I would've lost if not for my arcane wand and sacrifice.

In the end I managed to take him down, grab the stone and healthstoned out of there. Fun times.

The position information is good and you can find
for the Satre's at 71/9
for the Lesser Infernals at 54/79

But before you go to either you should stop off at Nijel's Point. First there is a flight path there which will allow you to return to Desolace a bit easier or to return to Theramore or Auberdine. Second there are a couple of additional quests that you can do at the same time. There is a reagent collection quest that wants horns and claws from the satyr's which you will get naturally as you collect your blood drops. Nice easy bonus. Turning that quest in gives you another one for scorpid venom and kodo hide which you can collect on your long walk south to the Coven.

As stated the Satyr's are easy to pull and kill and I used my VW at 32 to take them out. Finishing them off leveled me to 33 and I then went south and found a lesser infernal at 37. He was not especially difficult though after a bit of damage he did come off of my VW and I took a healthstone to be safe but probably didn't really need it. He dropped the stone and that was the only one I needed to kill.

Overall not a bad quest with good exp and loot.

Well I found this quite easy at level 33.

The hardest part of this quest is running all the way to desolce if you haven't been there before, but apart from that not to hard. As you go south be careful of the lvl 39 flying beasts as they are tough. I got caught by one and a spinning ugly looking beast and they got me. Luckily i had my res stone on and waited for them to get away before res'ing back. The satyers are a piece of pi** to kill, so far apart, took me about 15 to 20 of them to get the 10 vials of blood but got there in the end. I found if you used your enslave demon on one of the big pink ones that worked the best cause you could make him attack one whilst you kill another and the hold on the demon laster a good 5 to 10 minutes before he broke free and tried to kill me.

Top Tip: Use your reserection stone and make sure you have health stones at the ready!

As for the Infernal he was the easiest one i have done in ages, hit him with Amplify Curse then CoW, Curruption (My fav) and then just knocked him about with the Shadow bult. Had my Scubby there just beating him with her whip. make sure you have some greater health potions or a health stone to chew on. Dropped on first one.
