maybe there's something in one of his books that makes for a good joke him being in the argent dawn or sitting in the middle of nowhere in front of a stone cave doing practically nothing
probably one of the bliz devs read a book of his and thought it'd be funny to name an npc after him and place him in the middle of a snowy desert and the reason nobody understands this joke is simply because no one %^&*ing knows the works of this guy...

My guess? Future plotline for a new instance related to troggs and/or twilight's hammer, and a threat relating to Old Iron Forge(since it's been fully sealed off now).

This guy is an Argent Dawn person, argent dawn is not troggs or twilights, Twilights are cenarion circle and troggs is normally IF/Gnomeregan, so my gues would be some undead thing. Perhaps an alliance Q to Shadowfang Keep or something, the level of the NPC would be about correct.
