Since the quest is Alliance, and the ghost is allied, would take a lot of cooperation with horde to get him summoned and killed.
As Aman is a "proto-dwarf", apparently relates to Uldaman story on dwarves creation.

This guy spawns when you finish the Absent Minded Propsector quest (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=943). He warns you "Digging too deep into your past might bring an abrupt end to your future." and then disappears. Unfortunately there seems to be no followup to the story.

He is not enemy, its apparition of the leader of Titans race, Aman'Thul. He is, in fact, the highest entity in WoW. Sargeras is his brother.
