Description

Alas, the time to attack Andorhal and drive out the lich that controls it is upon us!

Inside the ruins of the city is where the lich - Araj the Summoner - holds dominion. He is guarded by numerous Scourge surrounding the remains of city's center, and his personal retinue of guardians attached to him directly is formidable. You will need numerous allies to even stand a chance of facing him successfully.

Destroy Araj, <name>, and bring me a shard from his phylactery as proof!

The 'Scholomance' quest chain will also make you kill this lich, as the last step in its chain. You might as well do them together -- otherwise you will have to kill him twice.

Good to pair this quest with last quest in chain for Key to Scholomance (http://classicdb.ch/?quest=838). so you wont need to kill Araj twice.

Somehow if you pull him from behind you can avoid pulling the mob of four infront of him. Maybe it was just luck though. Ended up focus firing Araj, dying to the mobs, and then SSing to loot while a friend trained. Since his body changes when he dies, you can't expect a quick loot-- Be prepared to be interrupted if all the mobs aren't taken care of in some way or another.

ok there are two ways to do this. one is having a 5 man group and just killing all the mobs around the lich and then killing the lich, or you can get a warlock have his VW pet run threw the mobs and get aggro while the rest just hammer the lich and loot really quick, the lich is really easy by himself.

I submitted a ticket about the lack of crystals, and heard back from GM Sidhiriel (sp?) that the summoning of the lich, which is needed for this quest, was "experiencing certain issues" and that it would not be resolved until the next patch and that they "could not guarantee that timeframe", but that it should be at least until then.

Do not attempt until another patch.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KILL HIM TO GET THE QUEST ITEM. I was following this group around, and they killed him and then they all got slaughtered afterwards... hehe... anyway, i was able to loot the little box that he drops. Hope this helped!

Ya, just to clarify. when you kill him he doesnt drop it on his corpse, an object appears to click and you loot it from the object. So get a 70 char to run in and clear, then take ur alt in and grab it, quest complete.

what the **** is wrong with that quest befor 2 day there were shards but now there are none and i'm wandering there for 1 day isnt there respawn or it respawns only after the maintenance ?

Still no crystals on Earthen Ring.&nbsp Was in the area collecting skeleton shards and cleaned out several towers just for something else to do, no crystals.

Ya the crystals are gone. Or are they. If you look in Andorhal you see the blood of heros floating. I wonder if the crystals are floating just out of reach as well.[red]?[/red]

You don't need the Crystals, simply get a good 5 man Group and kill Araj. She drops the item required for Scholomance Key quest and then drops a thingy that can be opened to get the Phylactery Shard.

when i did this quest, i didn't have to kill Araj. a group of alliance had just killed her/him, and the thing that spawns, was clickable for me and my friends too. turned out to be pretty easy xp for us :)
