Deepmoss Egg (15)

Description

Spider egg omelettes are a new fad in Booty Bay! The problem is... Booty Bay's got no eggs.

I smell an opportunity!

In Windshear Crag and Sishir Canyon, in the Stonetalon Mountains to the northwest, lives the deepmoss spider. Bring me its eggs and I'll pay a bundle!

In Windshear Crag, the eggs will be clustered under what trees remain.

In Sishir Canyon... well, if you have a weak stomach then maybe you should just collect the eggs at Windshear Crag...

This quest starts in the Barrens but has you going to Stonetalon Mountain, not a bad deal as there are a number of quests in Stonetalon Mountains around this level.

The spider eggs can be found in a number of locations. Sishir Canyon has the highest concentration of spiders and offers the quick route to collecting the eggs. Besseleth is also located in Sishir Canyon, a level 21 elite spider with a quest to kill her.

But the spider eggs can also be found in the forests of Windshear Crag and Mirkfallon Lake.

You should do this quest at the same time you do "Blood Feeders". https://classicdb.ch/?quest=6461 The spiders you have to kill are populated in the area that you can find the eggs. A two in one deal!

The Eggs will be wiggling around, and sometimes a small spider will hatch out. They are low level though, around 14 I believe.

Spider Eggs:

Ok, I went to Windshear Crag and killed the large spitting spiders to get to the nest of eggs.&nbsp The nest are everywhere in clusters of tree.&nbsp Once I made it to the nest, I open the quivering egg sact and two very fast spiders jumped out and killed me.&nbsp Would have been nice to know that there are other spiders in the sacks before I spent a most of my mana and health killing the larger spiders patrolling the woods.

Anyway, am I suppose to kill the fast spiders and then return back to the egg sack to find what I am looking for in this quest?&nbsp Didnt have the time or health left to try it again last night.

PS the patrolling spiders spit venom at you, so it would be best to fight them as you would any range MOB.&nbsp Im a Shaman, so its an opening lighting bolt, frost then run up and hit it a few time until I can shockwave it (frost and shock on the same cool down timer). Also youre going to use a totem that aggros and/or kills (fire totem), be mindful that it may pull more spiders to you then you want to handle at any time.

Just take the road west out of crossroads and you will run into the spiders. Eggs are under the trees.about 63,59.

For those with cords 60,70 starts Windshear. The eggs are just around the trees. I got all mine in the first 3.

Without cords just follow the road until you reach a fork in the road and go to the right.

I couldnt find anything where everyone was saying. It is best if you just read the quest and do what it says.... go to the windshear crag area. As soon as I walked in there I had no poblems what so ever finding any eggs. Map location... when in stonetalon mountains map view it is going to be 61.64 area to 62.63. That is as far as I had to go. But like everyone else said kill what spiders are around the eggs first because you do have the eggs hatch on you with level 14 spiders in them. I only had to open 4 eggs and then I was through. Good luck hoped that helps others.

Actually the first coordinates are right. The eggs can be found in the Sishir canyon, in a place that you can't miss. It's full of deepmoss spiders and spider web.

You can do this quest with another at the same time. I did it while doing the Arachanphobia quest, level 21 Elite. Simple enough quests to solo at level 20 for me and my trusty little bear pet.

My result:
You gain 1950 experience.
Your reputation with Ratchet has greatly increased.
Received 25 Silver

You'll find this quest a hell of a lot easier if you have a pet/minion/group with you. About 80% of the time the egg sacs will spawn one or two level 14 Deepmoss Hatchlings, which can do heavy damage if you're not expecting them. Once you get into the swing of things, you can finish this quest in about 2 minutes, as you'll find up to four eggs per sac.

Also, those egg sacs are just about the nastiest things I've seen in this game. They look like giant zits.

I found all 15 around Mirfallon lake. Pretty easy. More times than not I didn't get the spider come out from the eggs. Even when it did it wasn't much of a challenge.

You know you're supposed to open them (like a chest or other things where the little "gear" icon appears) and not whack them with your melee weapon, right?

Just a thought... not tryin' to disrespect you, honest.

Also combines well with a spider killing quest you can pick-up in Sunrock Retreat (or maybe it was Honor's Stand?) I completed them both, fairly easily, solo, as a level 18 mage.

I did not encounter any "egg breakage" problems. Usually "opening" an egg yielded a hatchling (around level 14) and the broken egg he came from, other junk, plus 1-4 unboken eggs.

Not too hard a quest at all. If you haven't already done it, another good quest to pick up on your way out to Windshear Crag or Sishir Canyon is Blood Feeders, from a guy in the troll camp at 71,94.

Just be careful with the hatchlings if you're low level. When their HP gets low they will link with any spiders that are around, and if there are no other mobs around there's a chance they will summon a Lv22 Deepmoss Matriarch. It can be a mean surprise.

Be careful. The co-ords refer to the Ashenvale map. If you use the them on a map of The Barrens they will lead you to Dustwallow Marsh where death awaits you as all the mobs are very high level! Head west out of crossroads to Ashenvale.

My advice to you is to leave the Ratchet and walk to the Crossroads. Once you get to Crossroads, take the west path out of Crossroads and just keep following that path. If you stick to that one road it will lead you straight upto the Stonetalon Mountains and into Windshear Crag where the eggs are.

It can be a little tricky, I actually managed to die on it once cause when I opened the eggs 2 little Deepmoss Hatchets popped out and the little suckers got me by surprise. Overall not too hard though, just be patient and it's no problem really. I was an 18 Warlock but the quest completion bumped me upto 19.
