Salty Scorpid Venom (6)

Description

I have so many designs for our rocket car! So many! And I must try them all!!

I'm working on a new type of fuel. One that burns really really really hot!! I haven't gotten the mixture perfect, but I think I know what I need...

The scorpids who wander the Shimmering Flats have a venom with lots and lots of salt in it. It's very unique! And it's just what I need!

Bring me venom and trust me -- our car will fly!!

Have to kill Scorpid Reavers for the best drop rate. Best location I've found is 72,73 around a broken down wagon, a tent and some other junk on the ground.

Easy soloed as 32 Dwarf Warrior.

You can find scorpians all around the track, but there is also a small camp of them about halfway down the west wall of Shimmering Flats.

The drops weren't common, but not really hard either. Maybe 1 per four kills.

It's best to do this in conjunction with the other quests requiring you to kill turtles, vultures and get car parts. All four can be collected from the NPCs at the race track.

A very good area is all around Weavles Crater. this is also where you find regular Basalisks for another Quests

The drop rate for this quest is very low so it may take a while to complete

-- this quest goes good with Rocket Car parts

Soloed at 32 -- Shaman

Good idea to bring Cure POison

If you do the shell quest at the same time, you get the parts quite quick but even if you dont, it doesnt matter cos the area is ace for grinding! I got more heavy leather and hides than i can shake a stick at!

The drop rates may suck, but these are excellent grinding quests. I think the exp you get while grinding these mobs to get all the quest drops are worth doing the quests for.

I'd agree with the earlier posters - go for the Terrors, I got almost 100% drop from them - but the Reavers were 0%. You could spend the rest of your life waiting for six to drop from them&nbsp :)

Just did this quest on my Prot Warrior, having done it several times before. As of recent, I noticed these scorpids got changed somehow, whether it be a bug or not.

1) Scorpid Terrors haven't even been trying to fear me, like they use to all the time.
2) The poison debuff "Withering Poison" used to only hit me once, and couldn't stack any higher than that. Now it appear it can stack (Seperate applications, not counted) infinite times. However, after 3-4 applications, I had to usually wait it out, since 40dmg every few seconds is a bit hard at this level, let alone about STR and AGi being reduced by about 48. I don't recall the Terrors ever applying this debuff, but I could be wrong.

All in all, easy quest for classes that can kill these fast, or from ranged. Prot Warrior, not so fun. :3

Given the breadth of enemies that drop this (30-34), this really should have been a level 32 or 33 quest.

I agree with Roguefoxx, 72,73 is a great place to farm them.

Soloing them easily as a level 35 shadow preist.

Easily Solo'd this Quest as a level 29 Shadow Priest last night.

I just PW: Sheild, Mindblast + SW: Pain. Then wand them to death.

And this quest didn't take too long, just killing the level 31-33 Scorpions. I did it alongside the Spare parts quest and the Turtle shell one.

I finished 30/30 Parts, 6/6 poison, 6/9 Turtle shells. (also 10/10 of the basalisks needed for a quest)
