This quest really sucks. I did it at level 27- and ugh, what a waste of time. If you fight the lower-leveled Pridewings, you end up wasting your time. Not only is the drop rate low, those stupid Spiders are all over the place, and you end up killing them for nothing. (At my level, no XP.)

Hunters, this is an easy quest. Skinners, rock on. I went up to Stonetalon Peak and found a nest of them. It was really wonderful for me there, because they spawned so darn quickly. I had one spawn right on top of me while I was mid-skinning the one that I just killed there.

The nest I went to didn't have them close together, so it was easy to fight one-on-one.

I know the Wyverns had the best droprate, but I did get one sac from one of the Pridewing Consorts.

The Pridewings who are nesting are between levels 21-24, so be prepared if you're going to fight them.

I think I got more of the 'torn furry ears' then I did anything. Make sure for this quest, your inventory isn't full at all, because it will be by the time you were done!

I had two rare drops (one of them was some Engineering plans), and I can't remember the other.

It took me AT LEAST an hour to do this. It wouldn't have taken so long, except I hadn't gone to Stonetalon Peak. At least up there I wasn't wasting my energy fighting tons of spiders.

First Aiders? You can end up making Anti-venom. And the spiders up there sometimes drop 'small venom sacs'- which is all you need for the anti-venom.

All in all, it wasn't a BAD quest, but a LONG one, and a little irritating. I think they respawn faster if you skin them, and if you don't, it's a huge waste of leather...so if you know a skinner, be sure to ask them along for the ride- I got a ton of Medium Leather, some Light Leather, and a few Light Hides.

Very low drop rate, but good respawn rate.
Done in about 20-30 minutes :þ

I look over the comments and you all ask what the cords are.&nbsp And I did this myself and took the given cords and looked for it in Ashinvale.&nbsp After I read the quest a few times and it hit me like a brick...

Okay, I noticed that if you go due east of the lake, you get into part of the mountains and there's a lot more pridewings. They are higher lvls than the ones right near the lake (lvl 22-25) but they drop the venom sacs more often. It still took me about 45 mins to finish, but it makes it easier while you still get to buff up on your exp.

Don't try it unless you're at least lvl 21 though.

Pridewing nests are in stonetalon at Stonetalon/45,42 Stonetalon/50,44 Stonetalon/48-49,41-42

First off this quest is not located in Ashenvale, its located in Stonetalon Moutains adjacent to Ashenvale.

To get to the Stonetalon Moutains you need to travel through the Talon Deep Path located in Ashenvale at Cord (42.72)

Once in the Stonetalon Moutains the Pridewings are located at the Mirkfallon Lake Cord (50.45)
Once at the Mirkfallon Lake you should immeadetly see the Pridewings, they are lion/dragon creatures.

Types of Pridewings-

Pridewing Wyvern- lv 21-22 does Posion attack in addition to normal physical attacks. *Also these
Pridewings drop the most venom sacs.*

Pridewing Consort- lv 22-23 does strickly physical damage and there located on hills and on moutain edges guarding nests. Also drops second most venom sacs.

Pridewing Skyhunter- lv-23 does both poison and physical damage. Least drops of venom sacs.

This mission can be done solo starting at lv 19 not to exceed lv 21 (45min-hour), if your grouping it I recommend not going with anyone above lv 20 as it well greatly reduce the number of venom sacs that are droped (30-45min).

Near 50.40, east of the lake near the mountains. Droprate is fairly low, but respawn is quick. Just have to grin, and keep on killing.

easily done as a level 70 rogue.

The best spot for me was 50,45 in Stonetalon

This quest can be very annoying for Rogues, as the poison used by the Wyverns lasts 30 seconds long which might impede your stealth ability. Dwarf rogues or anyone with a way to remove poison shouldn't have to worry as much.

Need to complete "The Zoram Strand" before this

The drop rate for this quest does indeed blow monkey balls. On the plus side the pridewings have a very fast respawn rate. I recommend toughing it out and finishing the quest if you're a skinner, as these will be some of the first mobs you'll encounter to regularly give you medium leather.

Coordinates:
Dirrectly east of Mirkfallon Lake,&nbsp search around there and you can pretty much get the Venom Sacs from any Pridewing beast.

The drops arent as hard as they sound.
I got&nbsp mine mainly every other kill.

Pridewings hang around the center of the map at Mirkfallon Lake.

I spent almost an hour hunting down the Venom Sacks for the quest,and only got 5.I looked up the highest drop rate,and it says Pridewing Wyvern drop them at about 40%.I'd say its more around 20%.

Found this on Thottbot and thought I'd share it here to help out.

I got a venom sac about every 7-8 kills. If I only needed 4-5, this would have been fine, but I spent nearly 45 minutes collecting the 12 required. Good thing that pridewings are relatively easy or this could have been one of the more frustrating quests out there.

It seems like the drops are fairly rare, however, it's possible that this wasn't done to frusterate you. Rather it may have been created this way to gain xp, and to further improve your ability to watch out for Horde rogues who love backstabbing you. Just my glass half full 2cp.

1650 exp at level 22.

+a lot of exp to kill the monsters, as others have said you have to kill quite a few, but they are easy targets and respawn very fast.

I also levelled my skinning about 20 levels until I didn't get skinning-exp from them anymore.

Go to Stonetalon Mountains at the LOC. 51 , 43 there are some bat .. kill them and get the Pridewing Venom Sacs . The drop rate is like kill 2 get 1 you will see what I'm talking about .. C'ya :)

Spent half an hour hunting wyverns this morning.. ended up with 5.. but what is interesting is that *all* of the sacs came from wyverns on the lake side of the road (about 1 in 3), whereas I got none from the 25 or so wyverns I killed on the other side of the road 30 seconds away. Both have the same name, but maybe the drops are only for the lakeside wyverns.

Good exp though.. few zones where you can stand on a hill and just turn in a circle pulling respawns :)

Where is the lake? ANy co-ordinates anyone?

I found that i had a much better drop rate for the venom sacks at coords 52,40 these guys have skywings which are generally lvl 24 so recommend higher lvl or caution, I soloed at lvl 22 NE Druid - did it easy

Pridewings (young pridewings) in at the Stonetalon side of the Talondeep path have venom sacs There are just not enough of them.

Okay, every time I've done this quest on a character (probably about 5 times now) the drop rate on these things is horribly low for a collect 12 quest. Honestly, I'd recommend skipping it. Your time is better spent on other quests that don't take an hour to finish.

I only had to kill about 20 but i had to wait a while for the Pridewings to respawn.

If I can give any good advice about this one here it is....well i couldnt find them and then i checked out this site. When i did i read on post that said just attack the ones near the Talondeep Path and just wait for them to respawn....well dont listen to this because i have been working on this quest every so often for the past few days and if i added up the time it took me 3 hours and all i got was 4 sacks....well my suggestion is that you just go to Mirkfallon Lake because there are a bungh of them there...if you dont know where that is its the circle lake with a patch of land in the middle of it just before you hit stonetallon peak to the north. When i got there i didnt get the sacks on every drop but i went from having 4 sacks to all of them in less than an half an hour....a lot easier this way trust me!

I've killed at least a dozen, and I only have four... and those came from the ones by the talondeep path. I would advise just waiting for respawns up there.
