The Tower of Althalaxx

Free the trapped Highborne souls in Night Run and Satyrnaar, then return to Delgren the Purifier at Maestra's Post.
  •
Free the Highborne soul in Night Run
  •
Free the Highborne soul in Satyrnaar

Description

The writing of the orcs is little better than the scribblings of a child. Many of my order scoffed when I chose to learn their tongue, but I have found it beneficial to gain further understanding of my enemies.

From Ilkrud's scribblings, it appears that Athrikus still possesses two soulgems, and they are being held in Night Run and Satyrnaar, satyr-held areas in northeast Ashenvale.

Be careful out there, <name>, the satyrs' blood-soaked temples can be unsettling even for a seasoned <class> such as yourself.

Night Run:
Level 26-29 Satyrs. Watch for the rogues. They go invisi fairly often.

I found it easiest to run east from Astranaar and make a left BEFORE crossing the bridge on the river. Run North all the way to the lake then make a left (turn West) at the big standing tree stump. LOTS of bears and spiders here.

Fight your way South down to the base camp. You are looking for a Red Crystal over red rune markings. Click the markings on the ground for credit in releasing the Highborne soul.

Satyrnaar:
Level 29-30 Satyrs. There are Casters here so be forewarned.

You can swim across the lake but it's really easier approached from South so coming in from the road is better.

The Red Crystal here is just above the "N" in Satyrnaar on the map. It's behind the carved redwood building on the NE side. Right-click the blue rune markinigs on the ground for credit.

Both places feature silver coin drops, silk, wool, leather armor and the occasional 20-25 weapon or wand.

The Night Run is just to the east of Raynewood Retreat, but you will need to travel north and then south to get pass the mountain range.&nbsp The Satyrnaar is just northeast (along the road) of Splinter Tree Post, but be careful Splinter Tree Post is the main horde town of the area.&nbsp After Satyrnaar, you will run into Forst Song (location of Kayneth Stillwind)along the road.&nbsp Once there (Night Run or Satyrnaar), you will find a floating shard, right click the cirlce below the shard to release the souls.
Good Luck and watch out for the sealthed satyrs!

Satyrnaar is just a bit west from Forrest Song, and Night Run is further west, across the river. Look for a levitating pink crystal, and right-click the ground below it.

Standing on the circle I found this at 82,49.

As soon as you enter the camp from the road&nbsp its to the right and up a little hill.

I found the easiest [yet most challenging for lvls 27 or below] is to head north along the river, and take a left before you get to the big lake and go through the rocky opening.. I'm lvl 23 Rogue, and got through just fine, thanks to Stealth =] heehee

OK...for the Night run part, take the Felwood Road, count 10 of the Lamp post on the road <ALL>&nbsp the tenth one take a RIGHT, you will see a path leading up a hill and it will say Night Run as you go up it,&nbsp then keep going down till you find&nbsp the Felmusk Rogue's.. and as you go into the lil village you will see the stone crystal. ~Hope this helped~

Follow the road to the north past raynewood retreat. THen at the top, turn right (east) and then head south once you are in the sort of rocky enclave. There it lies! The map is a bit misleading lol.

Night Run is easy to get to. Go up the road that goes to Raynewood Retreat (last left before you get to river if running south from Astranaar) and follow that road up past the retreat to the mountains. Then work your way along the mountain keeping in the hills and work your way along to the SE and you will eventually uncover Night Run.

Also, there is a chance you will uncover Night Run just running along the North/West bank of the river headed North along the cliff of a plateau on your left.

there may be something more lighterweight, but I love MetaMap for helping me find my way around.

Metamap on ui.worldofwar.net

cosmos is just a bit of overkill for mere coordinates.

Nikodim, (and anyone else who doesn't know) to see the coordinates you need a plug-in like Cosmos
http://www.cosmosui.org/
It will then show up at the bottom of your map.

In the meantime, Night Run is to the east of the T in Raynewood Retreat, and the satyrnar spirit is almost all of the way down the road from Astranaar... keep going past the Horde's Splintertree post, go over the river, and turn north.

As a level 21 I highly doubt you'd be able to take the mobs that you need to kill in order to free the souls, they are level 30.

I have found Satyrnaar, just follow the road east, it's north of the bridge just after Splintertree Post. I've yet to locate Night Run, or maybe I am just over looking somewhere.

Btw, in my opinion, the rewards from this part of the quest suck. I am level 28 and already have a better 2 handed sword by about 8 dps and it's even .40 delay faster. The pants I have are also better then what I can get from this quest as they have 6 agility 6 spirt and 80AC, I am a hunter and choose Agi over Str, but this is imo for hunter class.

Also maybe it's just me but I have seen a lack of "Hunter Only" quests, actually all I've found are the quests you get so you can tame a pet.

if your lower then lv.26 it's very easy if you have a pt of 4 that way you can easyly kill any players roming the area.
when I did it I only came across players of lv.25-27.

ps. telling the locations is not so clear I'ld say use Astranaar as starting point.

Tip for the Satyrnaar one, from Forest Song come round the back of Satyrnaar rather than going in through the front, you drop down a bit of a hill and can easily pull the mobs individually (apart from one who has a demon but the two were fine as a lvl 31 druid).
From this vantage point, the soul to be freed is straight in front of you, on the pyramid shaped altar thing the Chalice of Elune for this quest: http://classicdb.ch/?quest=9519 is right in front of you and two lumps of fel wood for: http://classicdb.ch/?quest=9517 are just to your left and right also. They respawn almost immediately so you don't have to go searching round the whole place to get the 5 you need.
After that I just stealthed out the front (as you can't get back up the hill) in cat form but the mobs are all easy to pull on their own so you shouldn't have too much trouble.

I looked at the map rather than the loc. Ended up about 250 yards away clearing a camp of L29-30 satyrs. The third time I died, I went looking for the proper place in wisp form and found it and marked my map. There was an area with no satyrs at all. between, so this was a separate camp.

Tip for the rouges:At Satyrnaar you can sneak all the way to the Highborne soul (behind the shrine) and slay just Blackhearth Hellcaller and his minion (it should be easy enough at lvl 27) and then just free the soul without being bothered with other mobs as they are at far enough range as to not being aggro-ed by you. Scan for rouge Satyrs before you do this though.
