I went back to Umber who did have the ! over his head. However when I spoke to him he just thanked me, he didn't take the goo. I got 3000xp, but no way to continue the quest line.

Hmm, I don't know where to go to continue this quest chain. Perhaps an NPC will send me a letter in a day or two, or something like that?

Strange, my brother and I were doing this quest at the same time and I got the next part but he did not. Only thing with the Cenarian Circle that we have done differently is in Maraudon he was doing the Centaur pariah quest and I did the other one from the spirit that appears after you kill the Princess. According to Blizzard these are mutually exclusive quests if you do one you can't do the other.
Maybe the quest from the spirit is listed as a prerequesite for the second part of this quest?
Anyway, I was able to share it with my brother even if the NPC wouldn't give it too him.

You're still left with the silithid goo quest item at this point. It seems like the quest chain should continue.

I'd just like to clear up a few things.

First, as has been noted a lot, already, the quest item isn't the goo. It's the "Encrusted Silithid Object" looted from the Hive'Ashi Ambushers that spawn when you open the pod.

Second, the quest that Rabine gives after you've entered Dire Maul is entirely unrelated to this quest chain. I did that series before I even started this chain.

Third, this quest is currently the end of the chain. After turning in the Encrusted Silithid Object to Umber, you talk to Rabine, then go back to Umber and he'll give you his "Hey, it's you again!" speech, and then this chain is finished.

Fourth, I can't tell for certain, but it seems like Andistin is claiming that the Pariah's Instructions and Seed of Life are mutually exclusive? I'm pretty sure I've done the Seed of Life, and I know for absolute certain that I've done the Pariah's Instruction (I have the Mark of the Chosen in my bank), so I'm reasonably sure that the two quests have no connections and are not mutually exclusive. If anyone can give an absolute positive on this, I'd be appreciative.

The goo you get from the pod doesnt actually do anything (Yet). The item for the preq to this is the encrusted object that one of the ambushers drop (They spawn when you loot the pod).
I did up to this point, and can find no more quests in the series, but I havnt been to DM east yet so I'll report back when I have.

@andistin: about the 2 quests related to maraudon... i did both of'em so there can't be any bug^^

Simply go back to Umber, Archivist. He will have an "!" and you can give him the goo
