The Sacred Flame

Return a Filled Etched Phial to Zangen Stonehoof in Thunder Bluff.
Filled Etched Phial

Description

The Galak centaur in the Thousand Needles are protecting an artifact from the time of the centaurs' creation.

We would like to retrieve it, but we require a phial of water from one of the night elves' moonwells.

To collect the water, you will first need to obtain one of the phials carried by the dryads near the Raynewood Retreat in the heart of Ashenvale Forest. There is a moonwell near the western bank of the Falfarren River, south of the main road, where you can fill the phial.

OK these notes weren't that clear to me (perhaps I was having a blonde day). Go to 61,51 in Ashenvale and kill Laughing Sisters until the phial drops. Then go to the moonwell at 60,73 and fill it.

You need to retrive an Ecthed Phial from the Laughing Sister's at Loc 61,51 first. Then go to Moonwell as directed above.

The vial you need is easy to get. The loc of the moonwell you need is approximately 61,72. I had the exact loc but with last update it erased all my markers. At the moonwell you probably fight off the ghost paws and spiders.

My results:
You gain 2550 experience.
Your reputation with Thunder Bluff has increased.

Both seem to work equally well. The one to use (especially on a PvP server) is the one at 60,73 - no Alliance sitting around being Alliance and generally annoying.

An easy way to get to the Moonwell after you've got the Phial is to simply take the road back towards Splintetree Outpost. Once you get to the river, stop, and head south, the Moonwell will be very close to the river on your right.

The moonwell is at exactly 59,73. The sipders and ghostpaws are all around level 24 that are near the well.

I have marked on the map approximately where the path to the moon well starts. Good luck

There is a path leading to the Moon well, the path has several level 24-26 mobs along it. just follow the road out of the Raynewood retreat after receiving the phial and at the split follow it towards the river until you see a partial path.

Once you are in Ashenvale, look for the road heading north in the middle of the map. To the left of where that road bulges is Raynewood Retreat. The vial drops randomly off the laughing sisters there. Once you get the vial, look for the moonwell just south of the road on the west bank of the river. Right Click on the vial when you get to the well.

to GET the phial
The tree is on the left side of the road that goest NORTH into Felwood. You kill the 'sister' chicks and the Phial will drop. For some it may take 1 kill for others 100.. but that IS where you get it.

to FILL the phial
South of the road (that goest west to east) on the WEST side of the river you will zone into an area called Moonwell. As stated before I think, it will show as a tiny blue dot on the mini map. Once IN or close to the well, click on the phial bottle whatever thing and BAM.. yer done.

There're 2 level 40 guards at the nearest Moonwell, which is just south of the place you get the phials. I busted out defensive stance and took the damage, but it wouldn't let me fill the phial there. There's an easier moonwell south of the main road, just following the west-most branch of the river south from the road with your minimap zoomed out all the way and you'll see a tiny blue speck. If you approach directly from the river you won't even aggro anything.

if you are a caster this can be a bit of a pain because the laughing sisters have very high resists, as a mage, it took about 75% or more of my mana each kill because most the hits were at least partialy reisited. but they're still easy to kill, I usualy took very little damage, and only needed to bandage twice out of about 20 kills to get the phial

OK the dryads were a very hard part for me, i ran around for 2hrs and died to alliance many times searching. But it turns out the mobs aren't named dryads they are the laughing sister..apparently i didn't know a dryad was a female centaur with green hair. So if any have trouble hope this helps.
